On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Gain:
- An Epiphany from the Elderly! 1d2+ 1 =3 Progress to the Rune Metal Pt. 4, New Totals: [Cost: 8 -3 =5 Actions]
- +1 Progress on Torques a Plenty, New Totals: [Cost: 3 -1 =2 Actions]
I am completely fine with the inspiration we got. Seems Snorri really does need to get close to the void for his new rune. Getting closer to the origin of 'star metal' with the void of space drawing out all impurities? Probably something more to think on.

We are gonna have the armors probably requested by the wedding too. So keep that in mind when you plan out the next few turns guys.
The wedding is still 4 turns away, thereabouts. The dowry stuff is for the wedding that will happen in 4 turns when the Underway task was originally going to finish, before Snorri went plus ultra with it. We don't exactly have a timeframe for when the armour for the King and Prince are due, we haven't actually gotten their requests yet. Might be next turn. Might be in 2 turns with a request to be finished by the wedding.

I'd still wanna research the Firestone's at least, before making the amulet. Maybe the silver Wutroth as well, but I'm struggling to see where we'd use any form of wood in a necklace/amulet. The Firestone though could definitely be the centrepiece and because it seems limited to our hold (for now maybe) it would definitely fit the part of reminding her of home.

If I'm reading this right the action efficiency is unchanged, we just get to fit another runic combo in

Not exactly, from my reading.

If we combo them, we decide the runes for all three, and if we separate them its the same in that regard. However in terms of actions while it should be around the same raw number of actions expended to finish them all, comboing them together compresses projects down and means we don't have to split focus between two projects. Which given how what's been suggested leans towards going hard on these, that basically means overflowing sequentially on them: one turn on cloaks, one turn on talisman etc etc.

@soulcake

Clarify on this? I'd take the combo if its more action efficient to.

So the argument I'll make for Comboing things is that if we look at the Write in guidelines we were given:

Write in Equipment Action Costs:
1 Action - 1 standard piece of equipment.
2 Actions - Multiple pieces of equipment or Large individual items
3 Actions - Very Large individual items or a full/near full set of items.
Which was given to us to guide us when making our own Difficult Request suggestions. Because of that, it would make the most sense in terms of consistency if GM generated requests follow similar rules for easy comparison of the two. Otherwise we're left with an information imbalance that makes planning more difficult if we have Write in Difficult Requests and GM Difficult Requests in our project list.

So by that logic if we combo the Amulet and Cloaks together part one of Dowry shouldn't really change, it's just deciding the runes for three items instead of two. Part two though would probably be around three items where we have a near full set of items, for three different people. That would make the Combo form 4 actions total for Dowry commission.

If we go with separate what that will do logically, is generate two separate commissions Dowry part 1 which is just the Cloaks and the Amulet Part 1. From there Dowry part 2 since its just a pair of items, i.e multiple items, should be around 2 actions and the talisman since its just one item Amulet part 2 should be one action. That's five actions. More room for overflow on the individual commissions, but the trade off is likely to be how many turns we spend on all of these commissions put together since doing full overflow basically means committing the entire turn to a project.

What I'm saying specifically is that going by the Write In rules he provided, which if they match how he generates GM made requests like the commissions, then the Dowry with just the cloaks should be 3 actions total. One for part one, two for part two because its multiple items.

Comboed together then the Dowry with the amulet should be 4 actions total or thereabouts. One for part one, three for part two because its a set of items. E: and also it intuitively makes sense for it to take more time if we include the amulet.

@BungieONI I would just like to thank you your simple and often in-depth explanations about our difficult Commissions often help me keep track of what's going on. And what would be best when voting on them!
