I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Snorri has a good number of bonuses to this fight (plus anti demon runes, which seems to be a reroll) However the front doesn't seem to be having a good time, so relieving the front will probably give them another bonus to their rolls (Reinforcements boosting morale or fresh fighters not being as injured or tired) However I doubt the same would be true of the roll for Snorri, the people we have there don't exactly seem to be helping much

Therefore I believe the best allocation of resources would be everyone sent to the front line while Snorri guards the rear. Also, narratively it seems appropriate, the leaders of the 2 armies fighting for 1, Santa vs Krampus for 2, and a fight for vengeance for Snorri for 3, also it seems to be a duel happening here and Dwarves strike me as the honorable types who wouldn't interrupt a duel
 
I think you mostly just need to adjust the dice results a bit more toward "one side gains an advantage" instead of "one side annihilates the other" and do more rolls.
 
A dwarf quest? A dwarf Runelord quest? A dwarf Golden Age, pre-decline Runelord Quest? A well-written, worldbuilding-plentiful, excellently-characterized Golden Age Dwarf Runelord Quest?

Tactical situation...hrm. I'd say send about a third of the reserve to the rear and the rest to the buckling front, but I'm no tactician.

Yeah, this is definitely something I've been thinking about as I've been writing. In the future I may have to tweak the roll modifiers or use smaller dice. This is my first time doing battle turns and it's easy to see I think(I foolishly believed I would have a bit more time to work em out)
may I suggest the dwarfs having some bonuses for their high quality gear and the like? And depending on what you want you baseline to be maybe their training

Is there a rune that can make beardlings less useless. Like a permanent rune of grumbling to keep their blood pumping. Wait we already know a sound rune! OH BY THUNGI'I TONGS IMAGINE THE EFFICIENCY BONUSES!

We could slap these babies anywhere work needs to be done. Let all younglings tremble before "snorri's great gromil galley of garbled ghostly geriatric grumblings", patent pending.
