On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

[X] Yes: By tradition, you would be the ranking lord, in charge of leading these stout dwarfs in battle. It is not one you will shirk.
[X] Centre: From here you can cast protective or offensive runes with greater ease but also be ready to serve as rapid reinforcement to the frontlines. You won't know what's happening with the battle everywhere as accurately.

We know how snorri lost his wife poor dwarf, Looks like we'll have to be extra vigorous when killing them.

I really don't see why people want to be the commander. Not only does it result in a poorer led throng, it hampers Snorri's ability to act with his own capabilities.

We'll never get better at leading unless we actually do it. God knows how long the hold will take to decide who's King knowing how slow Dwarfs are; we may need to lead them in battle agin.

Be cautious against Protagonist Syndrome. Other characters have volition in the story, too, and it's very foolish to try to replace that. What would be best is to have a King (or Queen?) with his own narrative presence, thus he'd gain experience in leading over time and would be much better than we'd be at it, too. (And aside all that, we had one combat-leadership option at chargen but we decided to be Santa instead.)
Master Rune of Conduction was the original (one I made up) name of the Master Rune of Kragg the Grim.

Ehh. I'm not against you wanting to use that rune in this story, but I like the idea that even in the far future, new runes are still being created even if very rarely. It means there's a big possibility space for rune creation even if doing so can be very hard. But maybe that's just me being fond of the Kragg the Grim seen in the Divided Loyalties quest.

[X] No: You don't have the intimate knowledge or know how to lead a throng. Leave this to the thanes to sort out. The Eldest Thane of the hold will lead the Throng.

It's tradition. Normally, I'm a meritocracy sort of guy but there's definitely a diplo fallout to a runesmith not following traditions. Dwarfs just don't fuck around with traditions.

I mean at least according to the wiki it's actually canon that Kragg only rediscovered it.

Article:
Master Rune of Kraggi the Grim
- This rune was commonplace in the past but its secrets had been lost to the centuries. However, Dwarf adventurers in Karak Azgal discovered several axes bearing the rune and carried one to Karaz-a-Karak where it came into the possession of the Master Runesmith,
Kraggi the Grim. By dint of long study, Kraggi came to understand the secrets of the rune and how to inscribe it. The jealous old Runelord might have kept the secret to himself but, knowing that other Runesmiths were probably studying it, elected to share the knowledge and thereby gained the credit for deciphering the secret.

It's tradition for us to lead. What kind of dwarf would we be, if we didn't respect tradition? The kind that doesn't use any pocket tongue *grumble grumble*
Anyway, given that we should be leading, we should also be in the center where we can order people around, react to things, and be inspiring.

KILL! MAIM! BURN! KILL! MAIM! BURN! RIP AND TEAR! RIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT'S DONE!

Well, that's disappointing. But since Warhammer canon is more of a bunch of suggestions than concrete rules, I'd rather say I'm disappointed with whatever source the wiki found for writing that and disregard it anyways. :sour:

*pauses for a second, eyebrow rises*

Okay then.

Anyway regardless, I'm expecting its probably some variation on an Intelligent Tzeentchian Troll. Either by possession by one of the fragments of the Changer of Ways, hopefully the lesser ones, or simply one of those trolls who end up being smart enough to get corrupted/get corrupted into being smart.

A Daemon outright is definitely on the table but with it not loudly proclaiming itself for all to see I doubt its a Slaaneshi or Khornate one. Could be an Evil Troll Santa Nurglite Daemon but *shrug* Tzeentichians are more likely to be canny.

Frankly, I'm more annoyed they called him Kraggi.

They confused the greatest living Runelord with Thorek's mildly-bumbling apprentice.

(Edit: If you're curious, the source for that seems to be the 7th edition army book)

Edit2: Well, they say to be the change you want to see in the world. I joined Fandom just to change it to Kragg.

We're a runelord, not a thane. And anyways, commanding the throng is gonna make us take time away from fuckin shit up with our runes

i think we should go for us becoming the king of Kraka Drakk as this will the main hold of the Norse Dwarfs when we get cut of from the rest of The Karaz Ankor, thus making us high king of the Norse Dwarfs. This will allow us to shape own unique version of the Norse Dwarfs culture
