[Q] Telepathy Homura
-[Q] ... Homura, why am I European?

What does Mami have to do with the price of butter?

That's been bugging me for a while
Homura is Japanese
Madoka is Japanese
Auntie Sayaka is Japanese
How come Sabrina is European?
Is it because she's SV? Walpurgisnacht? Adopted?!
wat
your right
why on earth are we European, we were born in Japan, to two Japanese moms,

Because the majority of SV are Western American/European people. And if we're Walpurgisnacht, well... that Witch is very strongly implied to be a conglomeration of European Magical Girls.

I still can't believe that they didn't go with Tart being Walpurgis. It fits so well, but instead we just got a bullshit Madokami interrupt.

Madokami loves France more than your sense of appropriate, lol

I mean, it's literally Deus Ex Machina, since Madokami damn well didn't save anyone else in the story
Which means that Madokami only wanted to save Jeanne, apparently

You can of course make a point that Madokami appearing in the end heralds her traveling further back in time and saving everyone else... before destroying and recreating the universe to make it conform to the new laws

Puella Magi Madoka Magica

Where the happy ending reminds me more of Future Diary than anything else

I felt it was less "Madokami literally intevened" and more "Atemporally, Madokami will eventually happen and so Tart's hopes will be fulfilled and this is the best symbolic allusion because she was a strong God believer."

I mean, I'd like to think that, but who the fuck actually knows? Just gimme that downer ending and make it explicit!

Yo let's be real here, nobody else in that story was a witch that eventually got killed probably 50 or so times by Madoka.

yeahsoundsaboutrite. lol

Humor aside, a bunch of us are overlooking something. Maybe it will be less "controversial" if I just focus the hint a bit more strongly.
The Sabrina in my minds eye is not an "average" of our behavior and thoughts - we select the best of us to wear those pants.
Sure, re-read the prior references and do the work, see that we won't crash the Quest by this one mistake - but why on Earth make the mistake anyway? Firn gave us a neat close for this in the past.

Think about what this proposes we will say, and why it is wrong as it stands.

[] Shinobu:
-[] Yuki claimed Shinobu *wasn't* a mountain spirit, but looking at her that was clearly a lie. :V

Nobody?

[X] Clear the air:
-[X] You're... unhappy with the amount of collateral damage they caused in Sendai, but if they were desperate to recover their friends, some of the blame *is* yours.
Again, why? None of the blame is ours. We showed far more restraint than any other magical girl could have shown while still winning that fight, and it was entirely in self-defense from unprovoked aggression.

That they were desperate to recover their friends is also their fault, because they created that situation themselves, willingly.

Saying that we are to blame at all for what happened not only makes us look weak and indecisive, it makes it look like we don't believe we're doing the right thing.

Apologizing to someone for something that is entirely their fault (and that you were trying to teach them was their fault, and why) is entirely counterproductive.

Why don't we apologize to Akiko for ending her extortion operation and nonsensical vendetta against the Ishinomaki group, while we're at it? Or apologize to Ono for saving her life? Or apologize to Anri for stopping her from killing a bunch of innocent people?

I liked my approach of expressing that we are glad they are none the worse for the wear. Basically say that we are happy to see them in good health NOW it shows the battle was not personal to us.

-[x] turn to Yuki while pointing at shinobu, "she is clearly an incarnate mountain but you said she wasn't."
-[x] ask Ramiel if you can call her Ramiel, don't if she seems uncomfortable with it.

Right, I've been in and am still in no state to write up a countervote, but some points:

1: We're dealing with research not certainly, and this vote makes very little allowance for that.

There's no mention of how long this could take or how little we know. I feel that's an important point to make, because as is the single biggest possible problem is that Anri tries to rush things or gets carried away and we either get standard dewitching problems or her feeling that we lied to her when the hype wears off.

Likewise, there's nothing here about the possibility of failures and false starts. Instead we're going all in on this with no accounting for failure and I really don't think that's wise. Especially given what Firn has said before about false starts, science and the intended feel of research in the quest.

There's major big reason my proposal started with giving Anri explicit choice to start now or not, and that's why. Starting this at all is fine because there's a solid argument that even if it fails it won't cause undue suffering, but it's still a pretty important choice to make.

It may be better to have her practice on Aurora if she doesn't want us to clear Arzt Kochen yet.

2: RE: We will help Yuuri out.

I feel like we might want to establish bonafides here.

Last time we expressed that kind of sympathy to Anri, her response was essentially "where the hell do you get off saying that!" I don't see our relationship with her having progressed beyond that.

Now, admittedly, that was just after dropping her old name on her out of the blue, but I don't see her just trusting us on this.

...

Okay, given the parallels between that situation, her response to it, and deadnaming someone... maybe we should ask what name she wants us to call her. Even if its a bit complicated by us planning to return the original Yuuri.
Uh have I voted yet

uh

[X] Kaizuki

'cause I don't like the way HeroCycle's vote calls Yuuri(?) "Lab Number Number 5". No calling people numbers, it's dehumanizing.
I can see some intent to be conscious of how Sabrina affects other people. There are very good reasons to think and act in the polite way, in the correct circumstance. This is that circumstance.

Are we getting to know people here? Are we already permitted to verbally spar with them, or would incorrect speech simply lower our reputation? Current vote still does this.

It doesn't need to be my issue, to understand that we might be hitting someone's issue. We had our fun with this, joke's over now. Fix the error, please. I know somebody out there could be better than this.
