On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Magma dragon blood? More reagants to get.

So on the rune of daemon slaying and dragon slaying, you could theoretically apply the same to other species like a rune of greenskin slaying or ratkin slaying?

It really is a crying shame that Runelords are so unwilling to share or work together. In theory it would make the most sense to just focus on our advantages and keep on simple projects to take advantage of Productive like no other, but that would mean not doing any research and generally just treading water. In a human economy in this sort of situation the solution would be to partner with some other Runelord and help him get all his simple projects done giving him more time to research and in return he shares the research with us, but that seems like it would be a no go in dwarf culture.

The solution is apprentices. They really help a lot to boost the shitloads of simple projects a Hold needs to be done, which means that basically we shouldn't be looking to maximize the Productive trait, but rather to use the productive trait + apprentices to get a simple project done every turn with minimal action sinking.

Once the Hold has essential livables all setup(which we're mostly done with save for the defenses, which we can grind away at) theres no reason to do more than one simple project a turn.

I wonder if we could get a upgrade of productive that makes apprentices more useful?

Edit: Also maybe our apprentices might actually be worth partnering with when they are full Runelords. Maybe in 3 centuries or so.

Since the ancestors are alive, can we spend time with them or maybe send them questions that we want answered ?
No
They're literal walking deities
They have so many things to do that are far more important than us

An ancestor visiting a hold for even a day is enough to bring honor and joy to all even tangetnially associated with that hold.
One Dwarf, doesn't register for them

I've been a silent observer so far, but I was wondering if anyone was interested in finding out what our Master left for us?
I'd love to dedicate an action every turn or so for that.

I'd love to sink extra actions into Defence In Depth Pt1 to see what comes out, but the problem with that is it's a project that's clearly repeatable. Extra actions will mostly roll into Defence In Depth Pt2, leading to Pt3 and eventually Pt4. It's best for us to build it up slowly over time instead of trying to fit in all the actions in one turn.

(Of course it's got 3+ parts. Only beardlings would be satisfied with only a few decades of reinforcement.)

Ew, Archwarhammer.

Tbf I don't trust a thing he says given some of the 40k stuff he's spouted.
He tends be on the iffy side, with big exaggerations and incorrect statements. But, he also has some insight and points out overlooked facts.

Nobody else i know has brought up the fact that Word Bearer Chapters had Chaos sigils before they fucking fell. Because, of course they do in a damn A.D.B book. I didn't know this before he mentioned it, and the damn wikis don't mention it either.

Lastly, ringing one of the slanted red eye lenses of his snarling helm, was a stylised, spiked star of brass. It was a symbol repeated across the hull and spinal buildings of the De Profundis, heralding the battle-barge as the vessel of the Chapter of the Serrated Sun. Each ship in the fleet bore its own unique sigils – the Osseous Throne, the Crescent Moon, the Coiled Lash… symbol upon symbol, a stream of signifiers. Here, in the void, they were scattered like the hieroglyphs on a shaman's runestones."

"the Serrated Sun Chapter icon rose alongside the war banners of its three component companies, eclipsing them in both size and significance. A spiked circle of burnished bronze mirrored the symbol around every warrior's left eye, decorated with sixty-eight bleached skulls hanging on black iron chains. The skulls were human and alien, each one the head of a fallen enemy champion worthy of remembrance. The left eye socket of every skull was ringed by the serrated sun symbol, painted with Astartes blood, blessed by the company Chaplains."

"Their chestplates were marked with the sigil of heaped human skulls, the Chapter of the Osseous Throne."

When we get to our second millennium we should have a bread long enough that we can set new standards for rune crafting. If we tried it now we would just be a crazy radical that has to be stopped.
