Master Rune of Gazul's Shadow: The bearer becomes unseeable, unoticable, undetectable by any mundane sense unless they should wish it otherwise, no matter how fine the eyes, how sensitive the ears, how adept the mind: an unseen shade. Mystic senses can detect the bearer, but it is much, much more difficult.
Master Rune of Morgrim's Torrent: As the great torrent leashed by Zhufbar, so become the blows of the War Machine, Gronti or otherwise, that bear this Rune: an undulating field of black energy that explodes on contact flies out, and what's more the machine fires/strikes more quickly too, with a flurry of blows.
Master Rune of Thungni's Flame: Reality itself becomes more real, strengthened by the fires of Thungni's forge, snuffing out enemy spells with a great burning and wooshing heat and yet, allied mages are untouched by the effect.
Master Rune of Smednir's Steel: Shoddy work out of my forge? Unacceptable. The metal itself fears the rage of Smednir's get if it should be found wanting, and so it becomes hard, harder than hard, capable of enduring abuse no merely mundane metal could ever hope, both in active terms, blows that should shear through it will bounce off, and in terms of lacking maintenance: artifacts pulled from fallen Holds in ages to come will still be as excellent as they were when lost.
Master Rune of Valaya's Moon: The moon itself was created when Valaya grew tired of the darkness of the night and so took some of Her silver plaits and hung them in the night sky. This Rune channels that, by allowing the bearer to act as a bright brand themselves in the field of battle, blazing and brilliant and immune to all mundane damage, and offering an unbreaking hope to the bearer and their followers.
Master Rune of Grungni's Sun: The sun, meanwhile, was created when the day grew jealous of the bright gold that Grungni worked and so that flaming orb burst into brilliant life. Endowing the bearer with bright will, their foes will flee in dread from the bright gold flame that burns on their brow, and their blows will smite the darkness in hate.
Master Rune of Grimnir's Stars: And the stars were set in emulation of the burning skill of Grimnir on the black silk dress of the sky, much as His bravery burns in the blackness of the underground. A corona of bright light follows the bearer, and the instinct follows, allowing them to move so skillfully that shot and stab and strike alike miss, even as their own strikes seem to shift in the hand to move when, by rights, they should have missed.
The creation of Valka the Strange, known now too as Valka the Proud, to mourn the loss of the Ancestors.
