On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Karstah rubs down the toy with a clean rag, removing the last of the grime and dust it acquired during assembly, before putting it in the sac with the rest.
I'm embarrassed to admit it, but it took me reading this line to realize what the true purpose of the rune of Stacking is. It's so obvious, I'm sure people were talking about it after the update it was introduced in, but I wasn't reading the thread comments at that time.

It's perfect though, just perfect.

Also I think telling them at this point is the right thing to do, or just don't accept the commission until after the information is spread. Morally right I mean, whatever the mechanical consequences are for the quest.

[ ] Plan Obvious
- [ ] [Simple] Armoured Maidens: [Cost: (12 -6) =6 actions] Due end of Turn 40. Productivity like No Other will proc. Gain 70 Favour and 1 Standing with the Cult of Valaya. The Clergy of Valaya are making plans to expand the Valkyrie Guard in preparation for what they believe is a coming wave of colonization across the Karaz Ankor in the future. Given your history with the Cult, they've come to you wondering if you had the inclination to create armour for some of the future Valkyrie Guard that will no doubt come from the endeavour. The number is not the sum total of suits, but ones specially made for their eldest and most veteran Matrons. The foundational core of the future Valkyrie Guard in these future-Holds. The Cult will hold the suits in their vaults until such a time they are needed. 4 actions
- [ ] Render Aid: [Cost: 1 retainer action] Can be taken multiple times. Roll for usefulness, additional actions apply bonus to roll. Gain reputation and +2 bonus per action to Recruitment Dice. You formed these Hearthguard to combat all the ills that befall the dwarfen people. Send them out, render aid, earn goodwill and spread the word of your retainers and their stated mission beyond the borders of Kraka Drakk.
-- [ ] Elderly Expertise: Gain 40 Favour +? With Stormpeak. The Brana are actively looking for aid in the construction of their new home. While the work of the Kings is certainly a great deal of aid, they are never ones to look away from any Dawi willing to lend hard-won experience and knowhow to be given the task of helping them design and build their next settlement. 2 retainer actions

>_>

I mean, what do you expect?

Yeah we have to finish the commission this turn so really not a whole lot of options. Really the only thing I see is what to ask the elves about.

We had better tell them not I expect that we might start seeing some problems. Starting to regret delaying.

As much as I would like to do research, we really really should do the chainmail commission. That'll put us at 10 standing for the cult which is a first. We can leave it till turns 46/47 and do 5/3 actions on it and still have two leftover to do something else.

So, (sorta) joke plans aside, should we take the Morgrim commission? I imagine that we'll get another opportunity to reveal the Cult of Morgrim's standing.

I mean, it would be cool to do, but I don't really care all that much about it.

I am all far telling them that we are going to reveal this. And for the commission hold off a turn and see if it changes and if so how. Otherwise knock out valaya this turn

I don't have any particular interest, and it also gets in the way of doing Skrundaz, the Grungni chain, or Az-Dreugi and research.

Basically if we take it we'd be committing ourselves to be heading away from research for a looooong time, when we were all getting set up to go do that research.

no real reason not to tell the priests what we plan especially since they will not spread it around.

time to finish up a commission. let's have a unanimous vote everyone!

I say tell them we're going to hand out the Chain making method.

Also I absolutely want to do their commission, I thought 1 standing was worth doing for the Valaya and Gazul Commissions but 3? That would shoot us straight to 10 standing with the Grungni cult! Sign me the fuck up for that.

I think my preferred plan now is skip the pickaxe commission since it's superflous standing and when turn 45ish comes, accept the chainmail and 2 turn it. That gets us standing 10 and only eats one full turn leaving 2 actions to put on something mind for metal procs on.

Also, I think if we tell them about the chainforger, the action cost for the request will actually go down. Right now we're banging it out for everyone in the cult but after the reveal, they might reduce it to just the high priests as a symbol of being the first to make it while other runesmiths make it for the lower ranked dwarfs.

I think we should tell them it gives them time to prepare for it and know it won't just be us doing this. As for the elf communication I say ask about vaul's priest and One of the lands.

The Morgrim commission is lost this turn.

[ ] [Simple] Gnolbarag: [Cost: 5 actions] Due end of Turn 45. Productivity like No Other will proc. Reveal and gain 1 Standing and 70 Favour with the Cult of Morgrim. Snorri thinks another patron might be found by the end of turn 40.

Agreed. I'm inclined to let the commission go for RESEARCH and probably participating in the upcoming campaign.

[ ] [Simple] Gromrilklad: [Cost: 12 actions] Due end of Turn 47. Productivity like No Other will proc. Gain 3 Standing and 50 Favour with the Grungni. There is no one else who can take on the commission. The Cult of Grungni has come to you seeking Gromril chainmail, though only for the highest ranking priests of every Major Hold and the eldest members of the Order of the Stone Wall, the principal military order of the Cult. As well as regular armour for the rest of the order of course, because why not? They are patient at the very least.
Well gee, they don't ask for much do they? Just a few, dozens, hundreds of pieces of gromril chain.
But Standing 10 with a cult isn't something to sneeze at. Good thing we're productivity focused.

i mean, we really do not have to. we are going to be spreading the method of producing gromril chainmail.

the standing is nice, but we are almost definitely going to get another bump just from spreading our method of chain production. and if that does not get us to 10, then The Rune Metal Pt. 3b will and that takes about the same number of actions as the commission. (commission is 12 with PLNO (so 2 sets of 4) and 3b is 17 with JotO and SotE so 4 (8 actions) and 5 (9 actions). literally 1 more action to get RM 3b done.)
