T40-Commission work
T41-Commission work
T42-Commission work

If we take the new Chain comission then that is T46 and T47 locked into Comission work, if we take other comissions that is another turn or two locked into comission work for each one we grab. And we have T5 rune metal to work towards and refining the Gromil Chain so that Master Smiths can make it

I think my preferred plan now is skip the pickaxe commission since it's superflous standing and when turn 45ish comes, accept the chainmail and 2 turn it. That gets us standing 10 and only eats one full turn leaving 2 actions to put on something mind for metal procs on.

Also, I think if we tell them about the chainforger, the action cost for the request will actually go down. Right now we're banging it out for everyone in the cult but after the reveal, they might reduce it to just the high priests as a symbol of being the first to make it while other runesmiths make it for the lower ranked dwarfs.
It'd be unfortunate to do so on my part at least, even though I totally agree that this makes sense. I still want to do it because it will be a symbol to carry forward into the future of Kraka Drakk, when Snorri was here as the first guy putting runes down, and its a useful test bed for ancestor rune combos, but I do totally get not wanting to do it in light of this even bigger thing we could do for them.

Definitely Reveal. As for taking it, I would want to do just that, and any other commissions only get two actions. Rather than our standard of overkilling every freaking time.

Edit: I definitely don't want to take Gnolbarag. It, while a neat item, is something where I would much prefer to spend those five actions doing some research. There are plenty of options just sitting there.

These two I want BAD.

We need to decide if we're going to Rune the machines that the Cult of Morgrim made.

I'm honestly inclined to let all of the new commissions go except the chainmail Cult of Grungni one.
well we still gotta see if any new important events happen the start of next turn that might affect our plans as well. So for now might as well just shelve the discussion mostly for later

This I don't want to take any of the other commissions on offer but the chainmail one gets a solid maybe from me based on how things play out going up to turn forty-five.

But the Cult of Morgrim commission literally expires this turn.

We have to discuss it right now or we won't get it.
The next 2 turns are filled already from comission work. If we grab the chain shirt comission that is another one that will take 2 turns of work, as it is grabbing mogrim is just not feasible if we want to do any research

- [ ] Deep Surveying: Gain 30 Favour +? With Kraka Drakk. The Deeps of Kraka Drakk have long been secured, but it's come to your attention that the grand array of natural cavern systems found after Haruzrildrakk's death still remain more mystery than a well-mapped path. Not through laxness of the Karak's rangers or miners of course, but by sheer virtue of how numerous the caverns below have become. King Otrek is well aware of the plight but has seen it fit to instead have Gloin oversee this particular issue. To train him for the, hopefully far off, day he puts the crown upon his head.
Shouldn't the text of this have been updated? They've been working on this for several decades already, and Gloin is probably going to become King in seven years.

If we take the chainmail commission we'll maintain an about 1:1 commission to research action ratio starting from just before we took the cult commissions which is much better than the average for the quest so far. Well if we take another commission say the axe one we'll almost certainly overkill it and be right back to our usual ratio of about 2:1 commission to research actions.

So, ya you have my agreement that if we take chainmail commission we definitely shouldn't take any other.

The job for the Cult of Morgrim only takes 3 actions, we could easily finish it, the tunnels and do an odd place in one turn leaving 2 free turns. Furthermore once our obligation to Grom is handled we can do 5 actions a turn and 3 retainer actions. It's doable, it'd be tight, but doable. Now if that is worthwhile to us is another matter entirely.

Thoughts:

Gromrilklad commission initially gives +3 standing +50 favour because as far as they know, Snorri will be the only dwarf able to make the gromril chain, so they need to pay a 'premium' to get access to the exclusive goods they desperately desire.

It should be noted that given the current standing of 7, the +3 will give the first max rep cult and whatever bonuses that entails.

I would guess that if Snorri informs them that he will be releasing the chainforger methodology, gromril chain will no longer be Snorri exclusive, so they might not have to pay the premium. Standing rewards might be downgraded to +2. I think this is the most likely outcome. Flipside, though I don't rate it as a particularly high chance, telling them will make them marvel at Snorri's gift-giverness & magnanimity and increase the rewards, particularly along the +favour dimension.

I personally have no real opinion on whether or not to tell them.

Other thoughts & votes:
Definitively want to put x2 retainer actions into Stormpeak instead of splitting 1 & 1.
Interested in Avelorn's magical traditions & Caledor. Could swing Vaul priesthood instead of Caledor though.
Not interested in Gnolbarag, I think Skrundaz also got moderately devalued because there are other Grungni cult +standing increases.
Grungni cult standing bonuses are interesting, standing reward structure seems to be at 5/7/10 with sometimes a special 9 bonus. I would hypothesize that getting to 9 or 10 via gromril chain will cement a special 9 bonus.
Bara is getting very close to adamant, that's cool.

It seems very likely, certain almost that there will be a beastman horde interrupt occurring shortly. Perhaps at the Grand Conclave Snorri will be prompted to join up with the gathering Throng. I'd suggest caution in trying to plan out long strings of turns.

Let's hold off on accepting the Gromrilkladd commission. It will still be open later, and we can see how the commission rewards and required actions change after we tell them the secret.

[ ] [Secret] Tell them: Gromrilklad rewards altered, the highest levels of the Cult made aware but sworn to secrecy until you reveal the secret yourself.

This seems like the choose that would let them now that they will be able to commission others for the chainmail eventually. I would like to do that so we don't get anymore commissions for now.
However the main problem of this action is it seems like revealing the method might have more pomp and circumstance instead of snorri just dropping it on the runesmiths without anyone the wiser.

[ ] Plan Obvious
- [ ] [Simple] Armoured Maidens: [Cost: (12 -6) =6 actions] Due end of Turn 40. Productivity like No Other will proc. Gain 70 Favour and 1 Standing with the Cult of Valaya. The Clergy of Valaya are making plans to expand the Valkyrie Guard in preparation for what they believe is a coming wave of colonization across the Karaz Ankor in the future. Given your history with the Cult, they've come to you wondering if you had the inclination to create armour for some of the future Valkyrie Guard that will no doubt come from the endeavour. The number is not the sum total of suits, but ones specially made for their eldest and most veteran Matrons. The foundational core of the future Valkyrie Guard in these future-Holds. The Cult will hold the suits in their vaults until such a time they are needed. 4 actions
- [ ] Render Aid: [Cost: 1 retainer action] Can be taken multiple times. Roll for usefulness, additional actions apply bonus to roll. Gain reputation and +2 bonus per action to Recruitment Dice. You formed these Hearthguard to combat all the ills that befall the dwarfen people. Send them out, render aid, earn goodwill and spread the word of your retainers and their stated mission beyond the borders of Kraka Drakk.
-- [ ] Elderly Expertise: Gain 40 Favour +? With Stormpeak. The Brana are actively looking for aid in the construction of their new home. While the work of the Kings is certainly a great deal of aid, they are never ones to look away from any Dawi willing to lend hard-won experience and knowhow to be given the task of helping them design and build their next settlement. 2 retainer actions

I rewrote Plan Obvious, I don't feel like having even more Kraka Drakk favor. It does not take the Morgrim commission. I figure we'll get another from them in a century or so.

I personally want to tell them that we're releasing the Chainforger to the Runesmiths. It feels sorta dishonest to not do it.

As well as regular armour for the rest of the order of course, because why not? They are patient at the very least.

[ ] ORDER: Tier 4 Troll Heart

I am of the opinion that we should tell the priesthood of Grungni. If we are serious about helping the Dwarves to get the largest amount of people making gromril, then having the support of Grungni's priesthood will be invaluable.

I feel like there's only really Elderly Expertise as an option to take, we are DROWNING in Drakk favor. Just do it twice.

Honestly, I think I'm for telling them. Less concern and worry for them. And they're going to keep hush hush on it. They're just going to be aware that, soon, Snorri won't be the only one that can take on that commission.
Eventually you settle the argument in your mind.

Pick outside of plan votes:
[ ] [Secret] Don't tell them: Gromrilklad remains unchanged, the Cult remains unaware of your plans.
[ ] [Secret] Tell them: Gromrilklad rewards altered, the highest levels of the Cult made aware but sworn to secrecy until you reveal the secret yourself.
Rewards altered? Hmm...

Ah, it's probably this bit that changes. And naturally, the extremely high "+3 Standing" probably goes down a bit.

Telling the Cult of Grungni that we are planning to spread the method of making Gromril Chainmail amongst the Runelords, will mean that they know that Snorri isn't the only one who'll be capable of taking the commission. (Though, getting the commission from Snorri himself is still probably pretty high on prestige of course!)

On the other hand, they'll probably be fairly relieved to hear this news. Probably less rewards for us (maybe less standing and more favor? or just less of both? really, it's fine) but that's fine really. We probably can't afford to take up another 12-action commission now anyway!

... Especially as the Skrundaz and Az-Dreugi commissions are so interesting too.

And Eltharin and Akazit and Rune Metal and Happening of Things and Mind of Things and Kholek Suneater's Brain and now Valaya's two prongs of new research too... So much to do.

... And Odd Places still remain! And Yorri might show up sometime soon, too. Ack.

It seems very likely, certain almost that there will be a beastman horde interrupt occurring shortly. Perhaps at the Grand Conclave Snorri will be prompted to join up with the gathering Throng. I'd suggest caution in trying to plan out long strings of turns.
We don't have a choice here as the Grave Warden commission is due the turn after the Rhunkalbrogg and we don't have the flexibility to complete it earlier. And the next three turns after that are earmarked for research (the leading research seems to be alchemy and odd places) so that's inherently flexible regardless.

Plus even if we took both of the commissions due during that time period they both only require two actions so that's no real flexibility lost either even if they are taken. So there's no reason we shouldn't be making long term plans as is because there's literally nothing we can do that'll be gummed up by surprise beastmen.
Let's hold off on accepting the Gromrilkladd commission. It will still be open later, and we can see how the commission rewards and required actions change after we tell them the secret.
We usually wait until the turn before we lose access to a commission to accept it and I haven't seen anyone calling to buck that trend yet so I wouldn't worry. Especially since I've seen all the supporters for taking it push to wait until around turn forty-five to accept the commission.

You know what I can't wait for Snorri to show off his Chainmaking rune at the Runelord Meet! I really hope we get a grudging nod of approval from Thungni!

Also I don't think we should take the Cult of Grungni commission just yet let's see what happens to it when we reveal to them what we intend to do at the meet. That and I don't quite feel like doing it right now even for the +3 favor.
