On Thread Etiquette:

I'm not going to weigh in on the logic of either side's arguments, but I will ask that everyone read over what they write and really consider if the words they used are polite and won't be inflammatory intentionally or not. You cant account for people's tolerances perfectly but at least try to say your piece without saying things that can be easily construed as overly dismissive of the other side of the argument, thank you.

Please endeavour to be cordial. :^)

Can we please stop bogging ourselves down with commissions for at least a couple of turns? There's always going to be more commissions. If we don't stop and research at least somewhat then we're going to stagnate!

For the axe my initial thought is MGrimnir Speed and Striking, just turn him into a furious murderblender that refuses to die, it should work well for the future Slayer Kings too if history still goes that way.

At this point, I think it's safe to say that Snorri is becoming a pretty prominent Runelord. He's still a long way from being the most skilled, talented, knowledgeable, etc, but it people beyond Drakk are starting to take increasingly serious notice of him.

MGrimnir doesn't let you stop once you get going does it? It sounds like it's a you either win or dead sort of rune which for this particular one works but it does not seem ideal.

The thread seems pretty dead set on making this a research turn and then researching alchemy from turn 43 and onward so I don't think you have to worry about not doing any research from at least turns 43 to 46 as a result since that's the absolute earliest we could have alchemy up and running meaning for that entire time more actions are being spent on researching than commissions.

Personally, I just don't care for most of the commissions right now, especially after picking up both Valaya and Gazul.

Research, both in the form of Rune Metal and Alchemy interests me more.

There are other runesmiths (Runelords for that matter), even in just Kraka Drakk let alone other Holds, that can do an excellent job of it too.

Frankly I'd love the axe commission. The discussion around the Valaya/Gazul stuff has felt more to me about showing off gromril chain than anything else. Making a more standalone item would feel refreshing.

While I do not disagree with the above statement having the king of karak a karak carry anything with our mark on it is a major statement too everyone.

I'm willing to pass on the siege engine commission, but I want to do the pickaxe even if we don't overflow it just to unlock the Grungni standing. The axe of Dargo comission is actually big enough to get me wanting to research T5 rune metal. Depending on how hard it is to acquire glimril I might be willing to use it on that axe, it's a really big opportunity to spread Snorri's name beyond just the north so I want to knock it out the park.

Make the Axe of Drago, except make it a gronti, a Grimnir Gronti Axe. Imagine the king having to hold a axe long Grimnir statue by the legs and having to swing him around so the axe heads on its head will destroy the targets :V

T5 Rune Metal is something we want sooner than later as the rate of gaining bars will be lower than adamant so if we want to use it at all in commissions and for our own gear the sooner the better. Also there will always be new commissions being offered so we can pass on these and likely get the cults unlocked with later ones.

As it is I expect the big gromil chain reveal will prompt a lot of attention our way and getting 3b for gromil chain from smiths would be a huge boon to the Dawi as well as really cement our place.

Just to clear out air, my rant previously was slanted as a caricature.
I don't care either way about politics and whatever, I just don't feel like picking up the commission.
It holds no interest whatsoever for me.
Also, just because the winning claimant is named Dargo in no way indicates that this commissioned axe could become the 'Axe of Dargo'
I'm not saying it couldn't be either, only that for it to do so, it would take an unholy amount of actions that I simply am not willing to spend.

Wargear
Ungrim wore heavy armour over which hangs his heavy Dragon Cloak. He carried the mighty Axe of Dargo, and upon his head he wore the Slayer Crown.[1c][5f]

Axe of Dargo - This runic weapon of monstrous size was made of the shards of King Baragor's broken axe, tempered with Dragon's blood and iron-oaths of vengeance.[1c][5f]
Dragon Cloak of Fyrskar - Gifted to Ungrim by Thorgrim Grudgebearer after the Battle of Broken Leg Gully, this cloak was made from the skin of the fierce Dragon Fyrskar, offspring of the mighty Skaladrak. It became an heirloom of Karak Kadrin and a symbol of vows already fulfilled.[1c][5f]
Slayer Crown - This majestic helmet had been worn by every Slayer King since the time of King Baragor.[1c][5f] This was a sturdy horned helmet with golden crown, on top of which was a huge bright orange crest like a Slayer's hair.
I kind of feel like we should make the whole set.

Like it wouldn't feel right if we didn't.
Also what are we going to use for the axe? There doesn't seem to be a broken previous axe to make it with. We have plenty of dragon blood I'm sure.

With the further commissions, I am only really in favor of taking them if they are done to the requirements, rather than going overkill. We need the actions for Eltharin, for Rune Metal, for the other Rune Metal, and for researching all of the corpses we have built up.

With all of these commissions, it really seems like we're never going to have a turn dedicated to research...
You're getting one right now most likely seeing as the vote is going to be split between a few dedicated research plans and potentially one commission plan which just shifts the research turn to next turn.
You know what that is? That's meta-gaming.
Snorri often goes a bit mad when doing commissions for royals so I don't know how meta-gamey it'd really be to go all out on the axe although I think it might be going a bit far to spend a T5 on it.

Great and Terrible Generosity^^. I have not quote. But the number of limbs, masters, and orphans with toys made with his hands only grown. And the number of his direct students also is pretty impressive.

For vote I will vote in plans that take as much favor from the MC King as possible. The poor fortress had always live with a lot of weight. Great and Terrible Generosity indeed^^.

Hold up, researching those corpses? What makes you think we're ever going to research them? Snorri's just taking up taxidermy as a hobby. :V

Seriously though, researching random corpses is low on my priority list, there's just so much more interesting stuff to do.

Honestly I expect the commission plan to win as everyone approval votes it once they realise their preferred plan isn't going to win.
