I have long maintained that a buddy is the person responsible for the tiger in your bathroom the morning after your bachelorette party.
That was a sticking point in Sendai, if I'm remembering right. We asked her where Akiko was and then had to change it to asking where she'd be in five minutes.
We should absolutely let Mami know this would work on us. It'll help build her confidence.

Walpy does look different when she appears in different episodes, though. No idea whether that correlates to power. Admittedly it's difficult to tell, since "can take everything you can dish out without being visibly hurt" is sort of an upper limit on noticing strength.

What matters is that she comes to accept that she's Good and doesn't owe anybody anything (well, except Sayaka/the Mikis, but that can be worked on and fixed).
