[X] Redshirt Army

Looks red to me.

Make a shield and box them in with it.
Nevermind, changing vote.

[Q] Put Mami in a box.
-[Q] Now she'll always be with you.

There's a difference between respecting another skilled combatant and having your best and only friend, who you might be suicidal without, brandishing a weapon at you. I don't know where the line between those is for Mami and I don't care to try finding out.

Also, the expectation that you will be brandishing a weapon at your best and only friend, who you might be suicidal without. That's probably the worst part. Without grief defenses we are fucking helpless in a fight against somebody like Mami. You're asking her to aim a lethal weapon at us in the name of dodge training.

Do I need to keep spelling out for you what a monumentally idiotic idea that would be? I do? Alright.

We are a tiny little rock that is currently pinned to the front of our shirt. We've also got basically no experience fighting without using grief for defense and offense. You want to start a "friendly spar" with live ranged weapons, not even melee weapons which A) can be blocked and B) can be fairly easily kept the fuck away from whatever body part, no, ranged weapons where keeping hits away from any given part of the body requires huge effort by the shooter and the target, with our soul on our shirt.

And you're talking about respect.

I don't know what's worse, the disregard for our life or the disregard for the situation you're forcing on Mami by asking her to threaten our life by shooting live weapons at us.

Like, what even? I know this is pretty harshly laid out, but seriously, that's actually the worst... argument, idea, everything I've seen in... in... I don't even know how long.

I'm going to assume you really didn't think about what you were saying, because the alternative would be that you did think about it, which would just be... Ugh.
Do keep in mind we don't protect our Soul Gem when we fight hostile meguca.

Mami and Sayaka sparred with their real weapons no problem.

That's not really a problem, and I don't think any of the meguca will feel it's a problem. My opinion.

I don't think Sayaka is our main reason to be afraid at this moment.
It's not being afraid that bothered me, it was the fact that our quick defeat was treated as inevitable, despite the fact that the odds are not that heavily stacked against us. They are just as limited as us and we have mobility and speed over them.

We do not want to take cover, that just lets them play the ranged combat game. We need to blitz them, because nether of them are melee super good at Melee. We need to close in fast and stay there, which will keep them from using their guns effectively.

Homura's main danger is that she uses her Time Stop to set up bombs and kill shots, which she cannot use in this fight. Without it she is limited to what ever weapons she pulls out, and her air jumping. If Sayaka can close on her and stay on her, then most of Homura's advantages go out the window.

Likewise Mami's main threat is her accuracy and all the things she can do with her ribbons, which is also not allowed in this fight. Rifles are very hard to shoot in melee range, and if we get in her face we have a much better chance at winning. While Sabrina is lackluster at Melee, she has the advantage over Mami in actually having weapon meant to be used in Melee.

I don't think that's disallowed? Ribbons are Mami's main weapon.

Do remember the Rebellion fight between Homura and Mami. Homu's got them hard earned skills, too.

TIL Mami's a Brawl pleb. (Not actually) : V

They are handicapped. We are crippled. Our "main" weapon is little more than an afterthough, we wouldn't even consider it in any actual strategy. Sayaka is the only one playing at full potential, and she is a novice. Our chances are quite dim. Our only saving grace is the combined power of a dozen minds making plans in an instant, and we are not sure the execution will be close to said plans.

We could get a backpack for chibi-Mami to ride around in.

God of War and Homunator. We could have literally anyone on our team and I would be sure of our swift defeat.

Homura being "limited" by no timestop leaves her at the level we saw in Rebellion. That limitation is not.

Mami is not a sniper. Her main threat isn't accuracy, it's having guns do whatever she wants. You might have a hard time firing a gun in melee range, I assure you Mami does not.

The ribbons are her magic, the guns are her weapons. Otherwise we would be able to use Grief, because that is technically our main weapon. Mami can either use her ribbons and her guns are an effect of her magic, or she can use her guns and her ribbons are her magic.

Second, even in that fight she spent most of it using Time Stop to avoid Mami's bullets and her actual strategy for victory was to get Mami out of her Time Stop then shoot her.

We are not crippled, we are still allowed our melee weapons and our mobility. Just because we are not as skilled at using it does not mean we are completely unable to use it.

It doesn't matter how good she is with a rifle or what she can make it to, it is damn near impossible to accurately fire one at someone closer to you than than the end of the barrel.

[X] Blink. Realize that Homura didn't give out the airsofts.
-[X] Hold up one finger to Sayaka.
--[X] "Ah, Homura, the weaponry? I can't believe we forgot."

Homura and Mami wouldn't target our gems, but I can easily see Sabrina or Sayaka accidentally dodging into one of their bullets.

Ah, that's covered in the main vote.

"You're right, Homura, we only have until Sayaka gets her."
One more typo!

"May I try the other gun?" Homura asks, gesturing at said rifle.
We know how to get Homu to come to SCIENCE! sessions. :V

Homura picks the rifle, weighing it in her hands as she steps up beside Mami. Without any ceremony, without even shouldering it, she empties the cylinder. The long thunderclap echoes around the junkyard as Homura lowers the gun, almost looking smug.
Almost smug. We just need to make up some cooler gun for Homu and she might actually make facial expressions.

...you know, we could actually do the equivalent in a non-training scenario. Sudden SabriClone Hugs.

Perfect for Sakura.
Sabrina: Only villain who would make a Clone Army and order them HUG EVERYONE.

I find your lack of faith disturbing. Then again, you did say near impossible, which I guess could read as an admission that Mami could totally do it.

Two points of order:

1. Mami's muskets are made of ribbons.

2. Despite the fact that Grief control is the main tool in our arsenal, it's not our magical girl weapon. It's our magic.

Homura thought that too, in Rebellion.

Then Mami was using a flintlock pistol at melee range.

I can show you a nice series about giant robots* fighting terrifying creatures** to save*** humanity, and maybe then you will reconsider that statment.

*Not actually robots
**Technically human
***Forcefuly removing individuality and liquifying their physical bodies.

Mami makes her guns by transforming her ribbons, which is an effect of her magic so they are either counted as a result of her magic, which means she cannot use them or they are considered her weapons which means her non gun ribbons are considered her magic and not allowed.

Noooooo... We're trying to have fun here, we're much better served using common sense.

Mami will use her guns because that's what she does. She'll use ribbons, of course, as it's intrinseic to her fighting style and not anymore powerful than her guns.
Typo that nobody pointed out yet. Should be "until Sayaka gets here."
I just ninja'd you. :V

I agree that Mami's guns are all ribbons, and that ribbons are her weapons, but I think Mami's a good enough sport to realize that utilizing her full arsenal of moves (binding with ribbons, clones, Tiro Finale(which is potentially lethal anyway)) would be against the spirit of the fight.

sabrina's stand
Name: Hammer Time
Appearance: A construct of pure blackness, grasping two gleaming silver hammers.
Ability: If Sabrina's hammer is in motion and she is vocalizing, no one that can hear her can act. They can think, but that's it...that's all they need, in order to feel the blunt impact of steely justice.

Edit: Adjusted to be slightly less powerful and more quirky.

Thought: whoever is targeting us, we target the one who isn't.

Anything that can disrupt line of sight would be beneficial to a melee combatant. Can we use a giant metal chunk as a shield? Or is the focus on bettering our reflexes so we can sprint around bullets?

Can Sayaka create deformed swords as a shield?

We're in a junkyard. There are usable shields everywhere. I preferably want a sheet of metal we can both hide behind and then ram with though.

Quick sufficientvelocity, we must provide Sabrina with all our battle knowledge! I can give a few poor Taekwondo kicks.
