Random thing that I realized earlier today: If you squint, Oriko and Kirika's costumes form a bride/groom combination.

Other random thing I realized earlier today: Why does Kirika's costume have an eyepatch? Both of her eyes are working!

I don't know, Kirika's outfit looks more like a "Best Lady" thing.

Also, why not have an eyepatch? It's badass as all hell AND you can use magic as an excuse for using it

... Do we have a deep-seated objection to being unsporting, or something? If we're waiting for the her to make the first move, there's every chance we're going to lose somebody. High-powered melee-centric, versus an unsupported glass cannon, in a confined space - what the hell were we waiting for?

[x] Telepathy Mami. Ask to meet her at the hospital ASAP, you'll explain there.

Forewarned isn't enough - she's overconfident, best defense is to get her out of the killzone.
If she didn't have precog and we'd confirmed she was a threat to us and the cast that wasn't going to reconsider, I'd have voted to give her the full Murderface Experience. Grief shredder on her body, grief her gem out until she can't fight back, then smash the gem. Do not pass go, do not let her cleanse, and hope Kyubey takes care of the witnesses/word doesn't get back to Mami before we can spin it.

But trying to gank the oracle who intentionally went looking for you and planned the whole thing is not a good move in the slightest.

Since when was Mami a glass cannon?

Since when was Mami a glass cannon?
Also, we're not a high-powered meleecentric so much as a newbie with a decent weapon and some nasty potential. That's still just that at this stage- potential. We haven't even learned to properly apply anything yet beyond grief shrapnel, wings when we're inside a barrier, and holding the hammer the right way around.

Ganking Oriko right now isn't being unsporting, it's a senseless and highly dangerous gamble that could very, very easily backfire horribly and Bad End us.

Because she thinks it looks cool. Kirika was a jaded, misanthropic teenager when Kyubey came calling; of course she'd pick the black coat and the Wolverine scythe claws and All the Belts and the eye patch. It's the same reason Sayaka has a cape.

Sorry, meant Oriko.

We know her precog has limitations. If 'struggles to deal with someone who you've never seen before spontaneously deciding to swing a hammer at your face' isn't one of them, we need to find out as soon as possible.

When it's a very probable future given that you're ambushing them out of the blue, if she didn't have something planned to counter it/her combat precog wouldn't shut it down then she's more of a lemming than Madoka and with less of a survival instinct/reason to live.

I doubt "a reason to live" would seriously turn out to be "intentionally take a hammer to the face". :D

If we'd gone looking for her rather than the other way around, you'd have more of a point, but as it is, that write-in would have been a suicide note.

With regards to Orioko and her Precogs limitations, my guess is from her wishes wording, It wont let her see things unrelated to her. As she wished to know her purpose, anything thats not affecting her should be clear. Course, I could be wrong. Dont have enough evidence to confirm it though, and if true, where the precise limits lie is a bit blurry.

hmmm, if we want to oppose Oriko(maybe a bit early for that) we could funnel information to Homura and have her act on her own whims. After all, Oriko can't read for a plan that *we* do not know about.

I have not read the Oriko manga. Does it spell out what the limitations of Oriko's precog are, or does it have to be inferred and interpreted from how the events of the manga go?

If Oriko is reading this, we should let her know that Kirika's wish was to brainwash herself into Oriko's perfect girlfriend.

The assumption being that Oriko's precog works the same here as in the manga, rather than being a different kind of precog or access to the GM's notes or something.

It's never precisely stated, but anything more than a few minutes into the future seemed to be beyond her control aside from brief, occasional visions. But I don't think that's the case here; GM remarks suggest that this version of her might be stronger than canon, and the fact that she was confident enough to confront us alone corroborates with that.

Considering the effect trauma has on a magical girl....

Protip: When Oriko found out about Kirika's wish, she threw out her old plan in favor of "set the witch Margot on a crowded school and see how that works out for me." This isn't a good outcome for us, unless you have a great loathing for the Mitakihara student body.

Since we know that Oriko is trying to save the world, and doesn't plan to kill Madoka. Why don't we just short circuit the antagonism and straight up ask her what her plan is?
