Hmm.

As a note, it's easier to manipulate someone when their attention is all over the place, I mean pointing out that one thing they are looking for is in danger means that they are most likely going to go after that one thing. This leaves:
a) Other things exposed.
b) The opponent precisely where you want them.

What I'm saying is that, we're heading to the place the antagonistic precog directed us...I'm not quite sure if the titles "TRAP!" or "DISTRACTION!" could be highlighted any more. There's something else she has planned, it could be that there's something going on in her school that she doesn't want us to interfere with or there's someone waiting for us at Mami's apartment who could immensely complicate things or she's interfering with our schedule, forcing us to rush things and leave things half undone which could lead to deaths. Either ways, we're interfering with something she has planned...and honestly, it sucks for her, because I don't care.

[] We checked out the school, apparently we haven't gone there, perhaps we'll check later to verify, however, what was next on our list? The hospital.
- [] Ping Homura and ask her to meet us there if she's free, we've been sensing a build up of Grief.
- [] Ping Madoka and Sayaka, tell them that Mami will need their help with something today, she never mentioned it to us, but we overheard something about a surprise and how she'll need to buy a lot of things.
-- [] You can ask for forgiveness later.

If there's something up with the apartment, even better, we can get her to tag along with us to belatedly accept Homura's offer and get to work with bridging the gap between the two of them.
Hmm. I think I see where you're coming from but we're intentionally springing the apartment trap and accounting for the biggest "distraction" possibilities by getting in contact with Mami/Homura.

Also, we don't need to explicitly lie to Homura, Madoka,or Sayaka- lies are best used when they're useful and they aren't in this case. Also, we're assuming the apartment's been trashed and not, say, bombed. The details of that vote are needlessly deceptive to everyone and likely to trip us up. If you lie, lie about something that's useful to us, that can't be independently verified, and that has an obvious benefit to us by doing so and is unlikely to backfire. We're going to look stupid if Nagisa hasn't contracted/witched yet or if the apartment was a bluff/bombed.

Mami's at school, so the only thing lost if her apartment is destroyed is an apartment. We don't need to rush to fix that. Heck, we could just let Mami know that a magical girl we'd never met before met us on the bus and threatened her apartment. No meta required.

Seriously, do we plan on keeping Oriko a secret? That seems like it'll quickly get impractical.

No, but we're filling in Homura first and breaking the news to Mami later unless something forces our hand. If something happens at the school in the meantime, we will hear about it.

The apartment vote isn't vital, but I'm sticking with it because the other votes aren't exactly appealing either and it's probably best to err on the side of caution.

Your title is looking to be very choice at the moment.

[x] Telepathy Mami. A magical girl just approached you and knew you by name. She also made vague threats about her apartment. See what she wants to do.
[x] Afterwards, telepathy Homura. Tell her we need to talk later.

Because I honestly don't know why we're waiting to tell Mami.

You know unnecessary secrecy will make us seem less trustworthy when it comes out, right? Because unnecessary secrecy will mean that we actually are less trustworthy.

We still have an appointment to keep at the hospital, I'd rather get that sorted before school ends, so a compromise:

[x] Head to the Hospital.
[x] Telepathy Mami. A magical girl just approached you and knew you by name. She also made vague threats about her apartment. See what she wants to do.
[x] Afterwards, telepathy Homura. Tell her we need to talk later as soon as she can would be preferable.

Can telepathy reach that far? We're in a completely different school district from Mami and co.

It's the Incubator Network.

City wide coverage for the Puella Magi on the go, just sign a contract and you too can have unlimited everything for life!

Certain terms and restrictions apply. See your local incubator for more info. Cost for unlimited everything plan is one (1) mortal soul.

And of course by the time I actually sat down to hammer this out I've already forgotten most of it. Oh well.

Half-awake spitballing, eviscerate at your leisure.

No, seriously, make some vote-sausage out of this thing. Vote-haggis. Draw and quarter it, set the bits on fire, then mount it's skull on a pike over the city gates as a warning to other bad votes. Whatever floats your boat.

At first, she was happy to have another chance... but it turned out that trying to keep her friend alive was a Sisyphean task, as her selfless nature kept getting her into dangerous situations. If either of them died, time would once again reset. As time passed, or didn't, as the case may be, the girl grew cold. Pragmatic. Ruthless.'

In the loops after that, there is no mention of you whatsoever. I believe you can draw your own conclusions from that.'
----[o] 'We can either work together and try to reach a happy ending for everyone, or you can continue as you are; whereupon in future loops little miss murderface is going to end you before you can contract, rather than risk having you complicate things. Your choice.'

Alright, actual vote time while the chainsaws warm up:

[x] Telepathy Mami. A magical girl just approached you and knew you by name. She also made vague threats about her apartment. See what she wants to do.
[x] Afterwards, telepathy Homura. Tell her we need to talk as soon as the opportunity presents itself. You've had some time to get on your figurative feet, and you have the mother of all infodumps to drop on her.

None of the [o] vote is awful as such, but I suspect it's wasted on Oriko and gives far, far too much away to the BBEG. The actual vote is okay but risks Mami charging in to confront her which we may want to avoid for the moment if we can, the Homu bit works fine.

Re: Torg, yes, we need to tell Mami soon, but we want to avoid her deciding to go confront Oriko directly here and now since that way lies derailment. All she has to do is say "Magical girls will become witches" and this mess goes from "that was unexpected" to "We're screwed". We might get away with it but it's the "might" that worries me- we probably will have to tell her soon but let's try and handle it carefully.

I'm kind of worried about the talk to Mami part of that vote, but...

[x] Head back to Mami's apartment.
-[x] Top speed roof hopping.
[x] Telepathy Mami. A magical girl just approached you and knew you by name. She also made vague threats about her apartment. See what she wants to do.
-[x] If she wants you somewhere other than the apartment, hop by long enough to check it out.
-[x] Afterwards, telepathy Homura. Tell her we need to talk later.
[x]...We have no idea which city Kyouko's in right now, do we?

Combining votes.

Random thoughts:
Oriko kept us on the bus long enough to pass her school, and for an hour or so afterwards. Keeping us away from Kirika? Or keeping Kirika away from us? Or something else? No way to know right now.

If Mami decides that Oriko's a threat to herself or her new junior partner, she'll go off alone to confront her. This would be a horrible thing for many reasons. Any outright confrontation with Oriko needs to happen with Homura there, preferably from within timestop.

Hmm, Oriko contracted to know her purpose in life. It just so happens that her purpose is to be a quest antagonist this time.
Oh god dammit, she really is reading the thread.

Random thing that I realized earlier today: If you squint, Oriko and Kirika's costumes form a bride/groom combination.

Other random thing I realized earlier today: Why does Kirika's costume have an eyepatch? Both of her eyes are working!

... Do we have a deep-seated objection to being unsporting, or something? If we're waiting for the her to make the first move, there's every chance we're going to lose somebody. High-powered melee-centric, versus an unsupported glass cannon, in a confined space - what the hell were we waiting for?

[x] Telepathy Mami. Ask to meet her at the hospital ASAP, you'll explain there.

Forewarned isn't enough - she's overconfident, best defense is to get her out of the killzone.
