[x] Huh. Her being involved in the weirdness around Sayaka contracting was kind of a longshot anyway, but that's still one theory down.
-[x] Maybe I'll do something to make her less likely to be an issue if she contracts later, try and dissuade her from contracting at all, but... now's not the time.
--[x] ... and I'll let you know if I do decide to do anything with her. Due diligence when dealing with potential mind controllers and all that. Probably right after lunch. She should still be in the mall then, right?
[x] Move on to locate other people of interest, since you're already doing search patterns.

[X] Give your longcoat to Homura. Your magical outfit is pretty much normal clothes without it.
-[x] Take Sasa into timestop. Be patient and wait for her to calm down.
-[x] Explain that she is a potential, that she can become a magical girl, and might be soon contacted by an alien entity who'll offer her the chance.
-[x] She just needs to let it mutilate her Soul.
-[x] Show her your Soul Gem, explain what has been done to you and every other magical girl.
-[x] If that's not enough to keep her from contracting, explain that your soul now naturally becomes corrupted, and if it corrupts absolutely, you'll be condemned to a future of endless suffering.

Well, let's talk about prettying up this vote a little.

[X] Be ambivalent Sabrina: "Well, it was a longshot... I mean, it's good she's not contracted, but it'd make things easier if she was the cause of the Sayaka Maria thing."
-[X] Let Homura know you're likely gonna spend some time in the future trying to talk some sense into Sasa. Try to keep her uncontracted. Probably right after you greet everybody goodbye after lunch actually ends. We'll let her know.
[X] How about checking on that Kuroki girl? We can keep on our search pattern.
-[X] Oh, while we're at it, meguca of interest: Could Homura name powerful meguca she knows that'd be good to have on board against Walpurgisnacht? We want meguca who can truly contribute, won't get in each other's way, and have a decent chance of not dying. If she gives us names and locations, we'll do the rest.

OK, that's what I can do about wording for now (also added a bit at the end). Others might spin it a little different.

Actually Sabrina's kinda lucky that moving grief doesn't generate more grief in her gem than she's causing to move. I guess that's because the ability to manipulate grief is her wish, not one of her meguca abilities.

Eh, corruption's kind of arbitrary from the get go.

There's no real reason moving X Grief should X Grief or more.

Rather more likely, moving nX Grief generates nY corruption.

Moving her grief is as simple as moving any of her limbs... and coincidentally, is subjected to many of the same restrictions. Like not being able to operate more than 100 meters away from her soul gem.

I'm fine with Onmur's wording.

That said, uhh, @Ugolino? You're voting for Mura, and Mura is voting for me. Fair warning...

I've given up on trying to get a specific vote in at this point. Thanks for the warning but I don't care since you're not actually dropping timestop.

While OOC, the restriction's there to limit the otherwise ridiculous power, I wonder if, IC, Sabrina's ridiculous potential caused the Grief to truly become part of her, thus the range limit... but had she a more normal amount of potential instead, her control wouldn't have been as good, but she would've been able to exceed the 100m range.

Basically, the Wish was so strong, it made the Grief truly a part of Sabrina.

Eh, as long as we stay less Witch-y and more dressed than Kazumi, we're fine.
Unless the way we become less dressed than Kazumi is by getting Kazumi to dress heavier.

... Well, Sabrina's outfit covers her pretty much completely, so I doubt that'll happen.

Let's just get Kazumi to put on some clothes when we find her.

If she exists. Which would be bad for Michiru.

That isn't a risk we should take. Just walking away effectively means this entire trip was basically pointless in terms of what we got done and risks things deteriorating.

There is no sensible reason not to take action here. At all. The first chance we have to actually get something back on the time we've spent setting up...and you want us to just throw it away?

Sunk cost fallacy.

...honestly, the girl just needs the standard info packet: Lichbomb, Witchbomb. She chose to kill herself to avoid Witching in Canon. Should help keep her from contracting in this timeline.

Witchbomb as said by others is dangerous. The Lichbomb is intimidating but frankly I think telling potentials about it does little but force them to come to terms with it before they contract, depending on their situation. The desperate people -- the Sayakas, essentially, whether because of debt, or despair, or hatred... Sasa, i think, fits in -- they are liable to "get over" the lichbomb, simply because it's hard to quantify the value of having your soul turned into a gem. And, for that matter, once its done, there's no apparent negative consequence. It's terrifying to them at first. That's how it kills MGs, by triggering grief spiral. But given time to come to terms with it, I think the average Sayaka -- or Sasa -- is liable to decide that a wish is worth it. Because a wish can have much more obvious value.

So I'm suggesting that lichbombing sasa is at best a delaying tactic. Hell, make that lichbombing most potentials.

The Witchbomb, obviously, is more potent. It also has the potential to kill a large portion of the MG population. Airing it is undesirable.

We know that Sasa despises people who are "better" than her. There's too many possible interpretations of that, too many possible reasons. Ideally we would read her mind and tailor a conversation suited for turning her off of contracting.

Except that's kind of basically wrong,

...

...

In all honesty I'm against any contact with Sasa whatsoever prior to her contracting. After she's contracted, lock her up with a psychologist. Until then she has the trigger for a goddamn warhead and she's shown she lacks the ethics to be responsible with it. It's not impossible that she might target us with a wish, or refine her canon wish to enable her to target us with her powers effectively. She lives in a different area, so it's not possible for us to integrate her with our social group as a precaution. This is a volatile girl who has serious problems and frankly we fall nicely into her trigger zone. Any conversation with her is liable to start and end with the words "oh, you're all that, huh? You're here to tell me about life, eh?" And in the aftermath we've displayed ourselves to a goddamn mind controller.

We don't play things 100% safe, as a rule. And I don't think this argument is going to win anyone over. But... I'd honestly rather let her contract and then deport her to a group able to care for her. Because frankly, I don't think we can turn her off of contracting in one meeting, I don't think we have the time slots for another long-term case, and I do think that meeting her without turning her off of contracting is worse for us than not meeting her at all.

"Don't spread yourself too thin."

Doing nothing is cruel. She's a girl with issues who needs help. Contracting is just her surrendering to those issues and harming herself...and we'd let that happen?

Not the sort of character we'd been playing and it'd be awful for the story.

After we check on Possible Albertine, we could just not reveal magic and talk to Sasa. Be nice, offer friendship. Be casual. We're not so much a Madoka-copy that we'd trigger her berserk button.

Also, if we leave out the whole "magic" thing, Sabrina is just... a weird dork who's really tall and apparently foreign but otherwise unremarkable. Not exactly very impressive, y'know?

But once magic is in the picture there's the whole "Mitakihara is basically full of living legends and I'm kind of the ringleader or something" part. Somehow I don't think being around a bunch of people she'll never come close to measuring up to would go over well with this girl...

This would apparently be bad for Mami if we just do that or something.

We have the time for being friends with somebody in another area without the use of telepathy?

It wouldn't be nothing. We're just not the right person to be helping her. We need to find somebody else to do that. Perhaps the best thing to do is go have a talk with her parents? Crazy idea, I know.

Frankly, yes. Talking to her is what's needed. Not a mass timesink, just a sympathetic ear.

Not a good call. Sabrina can help her just by talking, and it'd be depressing but predictable if she didn't even try due to voting.

Well, if nothing else, Firns stated several times that Sabrina's features are rather striking and exotic from the Japanese point of view.

Predictable? This is PMAS. The exact opposite is true.

Every single person of interest in this setting needs a sympathetic ear, Ugo. So far we've provided that to people near us, and we're going to provide batch cleansing via seeds to people moderately far from us. Batch cleanses can be scaled up, but sympathetic conversations don't exactly work well in terms of economies of scale.

If we're going to talk to Sasa, then we should at least send her to Koko instead of taking her on ourselves. It's the same city, and if I can think of anyone we know who wouldn't push any buttons here, it'd be Koko.

Also: a couple of my previous arguments get shot, this is in Kokotown, which isn't that far.

Sasa and Kyoko of all people?

What?!

That's about as well advised as telling Madoka she should contract for the sake of the universe.

Unless we want to become Sabrina Claus and her omnipresent helper Homudolph the Time-stopping Reindeer and let the world advance in one-minute increments after each of which we circle the entire planet finding people to deliver the Word of Madokami to, we can't handle infinite saving yet. I agree with the idea of sending Sasa to someone that can help her. I don't know who exactly, since I don't know any details of her personality (which'd inform MGs to send her to) or her life situation (∃ friends or family?), but it's probably the most effective long-term solution if we want to make with the saving.

That's not a bad idea, but alas we don't have a reindeer costume for Homura, which is obviously a deal-breaker. :(
