I've noticed that in social, we can be a little too... earnest and intense. Which might not go over too well here. Looking at the last part of the vote that got cut off, it was actually probably a good thing that we got interrupted. Of course the other side is that sometimes we can also be way too accommodating sometimes.

We might want to treat Megane somewhat like we would our friends. With compassion and understanding. Obviously not exactly alike since we're pretty much strangers. But basically treat her like someone who needs help, instead of some idiot that we need to save.

This is most likely a horribly bad idea right now and needs to be done very carefully, but maybe we can allude that we know that she has her own issues and that we're worried, in addition to the apparent constant magic use? It doesn't even need to be that detailed considering that she was crying and grief spiraling when we first found her. Constant grief use isn't the only way to get killed, emotional anguish and stress works as well. And she's most likely getting really corrupted from both.

[x] Okay. Start preparing to leave.
-[x] But your ignorance will kill you. You almost died the day that we met. I'm sorry, but we're having this talk, and this won't end *gesture around timestop* until we do. I'll be waiting outside for when you're ready.
[x] Leave. Preferably through the window, but if not, the door. Make sure the ring stays on her finger to keep her in timestop.
-[x] If leaving through the window, get down using grief platforms or staircase. Leave them up as an invitation.
[x] Keep a close eye on her through your grief senses to make sure she stays in timestop using the ring, doesn't get too corrupted, and that she doesn't move out of range.
[x] Wait. Offer cleanses.
Some possible modifications?
[x] Weary: "I can't."
-[x] "You've almost died on me once... I'm sorry, we'll be outside. We need to have this talk tonight."
[x] Leave. Preferably through the window, but if not, the door. Make sure the ring stays on her finger to keep her in timestop. Before exiting: "We didn't come here to hurt you."

Apologies. My phone wouldn't cooperate with me.

Changing vote to the suggestion I put up earlier. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced leaving is a mistake. Leaving weakens our argument, prolongues the confrontation and makes things worse in general. Be compassionate but we need to stay the course.

It's also possible that the constant magic use actually saved her life. Considering her emotional condition when we found her yesterday, I was actually expecting her to be worse off than she has been. Note that her magic was active even when we approached her in timestop, which basically means that it has been on constantly, even when the only person around was herself. Maybe her composure/appearance related magic has allowed her to stay composed so that she is not as upset about her problems as she really ought to be.

Well, possible modifications?
[] *shake head* "I can't."
[] "Your dying and you don't even know it."
[] "Megane, none of us would be here if the problem wasn't real."
[] "Please calm down. We're not going to hurt you."
[] *shake head* "I can't."
[] "You almost died on me once already... And you're not doing much better now." Pointedly leave a Seed on her nightstand.
[] Take a step back. "We didn't come here to hurt you. I just want to talk."

I want this, but I don't know if we can get it within the next few updates.

Hmmm ... we're afraid of her stonewalling us, but we also don't want to be threatening, want to make some accommodations and don't want to invade her space more than necessary ...

Idea!

[] "Okay. We're just here to pick you up for the meeting."
[] Open window and create grief platform.
[] Gesture to window.
[] "After you."
[] (Maybe have Homura or Mami climb on first t show it's safe?)

Also I don't think we should be apologizing for trying to help her survive from her own ignorance.
Careful there. That's only about a half step from blaming Megane that no one told her what's what. More to the point, it's not an apology for what Sabrina is trying to do. It's an apology for how Sabrina is doing it.
We had our reasons and I don't think Megane is going to accept an apology at the moment. I'd rather do what we came here to do and apologize for the unpleasantness later when things have cooled off.

As of right now an apology has no real value.
Agreed.
If we back out now we're worse off than when we started. The only way out is through.
Agreed to the first; I'm more than a little leery of the second. Largely because going through glass can be messy and painful.
basically treat her like someone who needs help, instead of some idiot that we need to save.
This is important to remember. Megane was contract-bait because she was emotionally vulnerable and terrifyingly ignorant. Those are, admittedly, personal weaknesses. They are not, however, personal failings.
Maybe her composure/appearance related magic has allowed her to stay composed so that she is not as upset about her problems as she really ought to be.
I could've sworn... but on the not-unlikely chance I never actually posted that speculation: Get out of my head, man!

As a more random aside, I really want to see the results of the test to determine the center of Sabrina's power (Meat? Rock? Both?) because there's something really weird going on there re: timestop shenanigans. And I don't recall any other investigative paths bearing on that.

That would just means she's repressing, though. Which definitely won't end well if that's really the case. Still, it would probably be a lot more safer and easier to test the waters here a bit before even remotely thinking of going near that particular issue.

Maybe her composure/appearance related magic has allowed her to stay composed so that she is not as upset about her problems as she really ought to be.
I was thinking we'd have to disregard her facade and always judge her emotional state solely based on previous knowledge and speculation, but this is just terrifying.

Seriously, if we just leave, we've got the worst of both worlds. By entering her room uninvited, we've already gone the path of saving her despite herself. If we half ass it she's mad and we got nothing done. May as well commit.

[X] *shake head* I can't.
[X] Your dying and you don't even know it.
[X] Megane, none of us would be here if the problem wasn't real.
[X] Please calm down. No one here wants to hurt you.

Vote could use some adjustments.

[X] Muramasa

Maybe something about what Kinematics was saying? Sitting down to look less menacing... something?

I'll put back in the seed. The rest of that is... eh.
I'm trying for 'compassionate'. I'm not very good with that.

Still needs some better wording, at least.

[] *shake head* "I can't."
[] You are dying, Ono. There are things you don't know, things you need to know. If this wasn't important for you, we wouldn't be here right now.
-[] Leave Andrea on her bedside table.
[] We need to have this talk. Is there anything you need?

Maybe she could ask us to take this outside?

Okay, we're forcing our way through this. That is a thing. A certain measure of compassion is alright, but that's a little too much. There's a difference between metals of differing strengths, and making an arrow head out of soft clay. This is to say that if we're too soft, we're not going to get our point across.

Unfortunately, this isn't a meeting of equals. It isn't nice, and it isn't fair. But trying to pretend otherwise isn't likely to be helpful for anybody.
Isn't. Isn't isn't isnt'. ISN'T!
As much to the point, the only answer I can see her giving is "Get out! Get out! Get out!" and she's already said that. So now Sabrina's pushy, domineering, and insincere.

OK just, the wording is getting to me.
[X] *shake head* "I can't."
[X] "Your dying and you don't even know it."
[X] "Megane, none of us would be here if the problem wasn't real."
-[x] Take one of your Grief Seeds (Andrea). Place it on a desk or bedside.
[X] "Please calm down. No one here wants to hurt you."
Sounds really weird.

[] *shake head* "I can't."
[] "You're dying and you don't even know it."
[] "Megane, you have a very real problem; we wouldn't be here otherwise."
-[] Take one of your Grief Seeds (Andrea). Place it on a desk or bedside.
[] "Please calm down. No one here wants to hurt you."

The update cut off there for a reason though. Sure we shouldn't keep her in time stop and leave through the window?

[X] *shake head* "I can't."
[X] "You're dying and you don't even know it."
[X] "Megane, none of us would be here if the danger wasn't real."
-[x] Take one of your Grief Seeds (Andrea). Place it on a desk or bedside.
[X] Stand with Mami and Homura.
[X] "Please calm down. No one here wants to hurt you."

Tweaked the vote a little.

This voting round was a thing. An interesting thing, mind. But a thing, nonetheless.

[Q] Witch out for social superpowers.

The update cut off there for a reason though. Sure we shouldn't keep her in time stop and leave through the window?
"No," you answer truthfully.

... Anyway. Update cut off so we could deal with the new development. To give us a chance to change tracks, not that we necessarily had to, or would, even if we should have.

I still say that giving her a grief seed right now is a bad call she might be angry enough to throw it or attempt to break it. We should give it to her after our talk otherwise its a waste of a seed.

[X] "I'm sorry Megane. I'm afraid I can't do that. Your misconceptions about magical girls, witches and your magic need to be addressed tonight. Now. Your life depends on it."
[X] "If you want a moment to collect yourself, that's fine. But we can't leave until we've had this talk."
-[X] "You are burning through too much magic, too quickly. Your soul gem is darkening way too fast."
--[X] "Mami, how many grief seeds does the average magical girl go through in a week?"
-[X] "You're killing yourself, Megane. That's what'll happen when your Soul Gem fills up completely, or when you go try to fight a Witch alone, while high on corruption. I told you, it affects your judgement in the worst way; apathy, uncontrollable despair, anger, irrational hate. It's an extremely dangerous position to be in."
-[X] "And I can't have that. I can't have you ignorant of the dangers of this world you've been brought into.
--[X] "Kyubey does not tell a magical girl anything other than to hunt witches, by its alien logic you are supposed to ask the right questions otherwise it is more than willing to let you go in blind into the contract without even mentioning the dangers of wishes or fighting a witch. Yes wishes can be dangerous, say the wrong thing and your mind can be damaged or broken entirely, not to mention there are some witches so powerful that it takes entire teams of magical girls to beat."
---[X] "For all the fluffy outside, inside , kyubey is an inhuman being that only cares for stopping entropy through the most efficient method possible. It is not your friend, or ally it is at best a tool for disposing of grief. It regularly puts magical girls to fight against each as well as witches due to the extra grief that is produced by this."
-[X] If megane starts to become violent cleanse, restrain, and/or disconnect depending on what homura and mami think is best.

I like mura's first vote more than the latest. Edited it a bit to address what I thought was needed.

I think this is shadowrunning personally. We'll talk about it. I just don't think it's appropriate this update.

i still say better safe than sorry right now we just cleansed her she doesn't need the seed. when we leave it is more appropriate time to give her the seed.

edit: we should also stress the fact that we can recycle a seed indefinitely. We already have proof that she gave it to Kyubey. I'd rather not waste our grief seeds too much.
