It's the glasses. Normally they make all the difference, but not here.OK, so. I see discussion, and I'm kind of interested in seeing where you guys are going with it, so I won't be updating tonight.
Instead, have a picture that creeps me the fuck out.
Also because she has the earring the shows this is post rebellion. It's the glasses. Normally they make all the difference, but not here.
See here, a normal example of Glasses and No Glasses Homu
One thing we can do is to remind Ono that she is part of the team since she joined us yesterday. We might be scary, but we're on her side.Quite frankly I expect ono to be afraid and lashing out, and we should definitely include something in the vote that has us calming her down a bit but I don't see how that is possible.
This has been brought up quite a few times, in a few ways.you know seeing that picture reminded me of the perspective the other magical girls see sabrina in.
She is quite frankly terrifying to an absurd degree despite just how airheaded she seems to be. She can control grief as in the stuff that is supposed to be bad for magical girls, the stuff the witches use for just about anything and even feels like one once she gets going. If ono asked QB about Sabrina's past interactions with other magical girls not part of her team then I expect him to have put us in the worst possible light using examples of how we fought in sendai and our fight with oriko without any context.
popping up in her room or even outside her house is probably going to give her a heart attack because i just realized with homura at our side, we can be anywhere anytime without any notice. Include in Mami's status of a veteran meguca, that clings desperately to us., what does that say about Sabrina? Add in kirika and oriko to our team, and Sabrina probably has more firepower, logistics and intelligence than almost any other magical girl team out there without getting into the girls we befriended. Not to mention our plans to acquire kazumi's team for R&D into dewitching.
quite frankly I expect ono to be afraid and lashing out, and we should definitely include something in the vote that has us calming her down a bit but I don't see how that is possible. I'm afraid this situation is more than likely going to end the same way it did for aikiko.
A thought: What if we, instead of telling her off, or going outside and demanding she comes out... we drop timestop, cleanse her and show her we're worrying?
We don't have to play the 'who Ojous harder' game.
Another thought, then: Would not exiting timestop actually help her deal with the break in? If we drop it, we're there, in her room, her inviolable place. If we don't, we're in this gray and creepy world that looks a lot like her room, but as soon as that ends, we dissapear along with the weird world, and she might simply and willingly discard the idea that we were in her room, if she wants. One issue in execution is that if we exit timestop, we aren't going to be able to have a conversation without her family member getting in the way.
Let's be honest, Ono wouldn't have listened to us anyway. It's not like we couldn't have started our interaction tonight by explaining everything by telepathy,
This is why my vote has us erecting a grief sound barrier. One issue in execution is that if we exit timestop, we aren't going to be able to have a conversation without her family member getting in the way.
And I think that's a terrible idea.
She's not going to be calm in any case. And this would just be normal grief walls, not witchy walls. She'll be able to feel them, certainly, but the fact that we're suddenly in her room is going to be far more unnerving than the walls. And also less unnerving than if her mother hears the talking and comes to investigate.Suddenly popping up in her room without a warning is bad enough. I don't think black walls that separate her room from the outside and scream witch will help her calm down.
Yes. I actually really like the idea of just dropping in and doing our best Madokami impression with some genuine concern. Yes, it deliberately shortcuts us straight to her having a fit about our intrusion, but any plan where we force her to come talk with us goes the same place eventually; she isn't going to give us any more than we force her to, and we aren't going to leave with nothing either. The way I see it is either we have a confrontation of some sort, or we shouldn't appear at all and just leave a seed or something.
This goes back to my post last update about how just showing up is going to humiliate her and cause at least a minor breakdown. We're committed to showing up. Let's acknowledge that because we're committed to showing up, we are going to have to deal with her freaking out at us, and get that out of the way.
I actually prefer if she lashes out at us, over getting stonewalled for the next however many updates. I don't want us getting frustrated and deploying a Sabrina Rant. I don't want her slowly tuning us out over several updates as we get more and more concerned without being able to say anything to actually influence her. We can skip all that, if we drop the pretenses that we're going to respect her boundaries, which I might add, are already well and truly dropped just by showing up and doubly made irrelevant by breaking in and snooping.
It's not like we couldn't have started our interaction tonight by explaining everything by telepathy, checking with Oriko on whether she's in danger after that, and if so dropping by for a cleanse+seed or if not meeting tomorrow. That was the option that avoided a confrontation, but we don't have that option anymore.
I get that just appearing out of timestop is definitely not ideal, but we aren't going to get ideal. Votes where we force her to engage us like the popular ones last update and Muramasa's this update won't achieve anything except put us on track for forcing a breakdown/confrontation in a few updates or having us leave unsatisfied.
One issue in execution is that if we exit timestop, we aren't going to be able to have a conversation without her family member getting in the way.
We're doing our best to keep Madoka and Sayaka away from the meguca life.I really should read all the comments toward the next update but I throw in my cent:
With Megane's aversion with three of us to varying degrees, don't you think we could bring in Madoka or Sayaka
as a way to relate to Megane?
For Madoka it would be her open nature kindness which would be an acceptance/ear Megane's looking for about life.
For Sayaka I would think the kinship between the two would be over schoolwork or the wealth status or masks of their inner turmoil.
Of course this might work if there's no time limit since bringing either of the two to Megane's house in the middle of the night would ruin any chance of an relationship.....
Ah well we will see, say do bring those two in as a way to bring in an fresh approach, in the emotional context of a teenage girl.
[X] Muramasa
I'm fine with stopping at waiting on Ono.
Kinematics vote is tempting. But maybe Ono will comply without resorting to that.
Not to be cheap, but I'm reminded of us threatening Kirika in order ot make Oriko talk, while we could have threatened the same to Oriko herself, instead. We kind of jumped a step, a rather important one.
Explaining everything away when we were in no position to cleanse and had no idea how corrupted Megane's gem was without hindsight is a terrible idea.
Then we'd be bitching about witchouts and how we could've avoided it all had we made a more nuanced approach. :/
So Gilgamesh.
Personally, I fucking despise playing as Gilgamesh and don't mind exhausting other options on the hope that something works or until we're left with no choice but to drop all pretense. The only person being truly effected here is Megane, and as she hasn't done anything truly horrible, I don't nearly mind the 'rope votes' that plagued the Sendai arc.
"This might be a delayed answer, but I do think your life is very important.""Miss Sabrina, I am certain that you feel that whatever you have is very important," Megane replies.
"This might be a delayed answer, but I do think your life is very important."
Flawed alternative vote:
[] Sigh. Excuse yourself. Sit besides Ono and grab her by a shoulder.
-[] "This might be a delayed answer," cleanse her Soul Gem, "but I do think your life is very important."
-[] Take one of your Grief Seeds, empty it a tad more than normal (4 uses?), and leave it on her bedside.
-[] "You're killing yourself, Ono. That's what'll happen when your Soul Gem fills up completely, or when you go try to fight a Witch alone, while high on corruption, magic-induced depression."
Ono seems to respond overly well to societal clues, though that might be different in her own private place. I'd be hoping the timestop world will set her back, plus we could try to seem menacing at first look, before trying to channel our inner Madoka? The one thing that concerns me is Megane will freak the moment we appear in the room unannounced and could attack us out of shock reflex, but that's an interesting alt vote.
Hey, Hitler ate sugar. Just because a condenscending person who thinks he's better than the people he's talking to uses that tactic does not make it automatically ineffective, or even bad. Sometimes forcing the issue is better, when it seems to be self-destructiveness.So Gilgamesh.

Madoka and Sayaka didn't choose the Meguca life, but it wants to choose them. We're doing our best to keep Madoka and Sayaka away from the meguca life.
