Sabrina SV: Combat Neurologist.

"What the hell are you doing with that hammer!? Are you insane?"

"I'm sorry, are you a doctor? Because I'm pretty sure one of us has the power to heal this patient and guess what, it isn't you.

crunch thud hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

oh god, my skin!

"What the hell did you just do?"

"Get back here Kyouske! It's healing time!"

no more!

"Let's see you crush on me after this!"

E: Okay, maybe not one of my better plans.

So can baseline humans see compressed grief? I think we can freak him out with it enough to nip this in the bud.

Even just the look of the stuff is wrong.

Is a campaign of terror really the best way to convince a middle school kid that it's better for us to just be friends than for him to get romantically interested in us? I mean, yeah, terrorizing him with grief might be fun and all, but aren't there other ways to accomplish those same ends that wouldn't require trauma?

And we're still trying to convince people that we're (mostly) sure that we aren't a witch.

You're right, let's head off this nonsense now.

Since Ono never lokked anyone directly into the eyes even when talking to them, I think the theory that her power gives her a good pokerface or let's her look composed, has merit. Her mannerisms are that of an insecure person, even though she looks composed on the outside.
I was thinking a little about this, thinking yes, she must be an anxious sort of person, but five seconds of googling gave me an alternate option:

Wikipedia said:
Japanese children are taught in school to direct their gaze at the region of their teacher's Adam's apple or tie knot. As adults, Japanese lower their eyes when speaking to a superior as a gesture of respect.[18]
I would normally consider it rude to avoid a person's eyes while talking to them, but I guess that's not the same everywhere.

...

Firnagzen said:
Mami smiles, bobbing her head sideways at Homura. "Miss Ono, this is Akemi Homura," she says, before continuing in a slightly less pleasant tone, "And this is Kure Kirika."

The girl glances at the two, looking them up and down before inclining her head slightly to Homura. "Pleased to meet you," she says, voice neutral.
I seems she always tries to pick whoever's likely higher on the social scale and address that person? That would go well along with:
"-who is this?"

"No, that's my col- my friend's magic," Mami says. "And this is Sabrina, my dear friend."

The girl eyes you for a moment, before turning back to Mami. "I see," she says, apparently discarding you from her mind. "May I leave?"

Firnagzen said:
"Out of curiosity, Miss Ono," you say, drawing the girl's attention. "Where do you go to school?"

"Yokosuka Middle School," the girl answers. "I'm in the third year."

A definite flash of something across Megane's face, but you're not sure what. "Ah," she says. "I think that we're supposed to be rivals, then."

Mami shakes her head. "I've never set much stock by the school rivalries."

The girl shakes her head, not saying anything.
Maybe Ono does set much stock in... Rivalries... Expectations...

So, did this girl wish to 'fit the mold' or what?

As a bonus: While we were searching for the glass witch, we checked the nearest school, which is:
You even take the time to check the nearby school, one Yokosuka Middle School, and scan it carefully.
"Out of curiosity, Miss Ono," you say, drawing the girl's attention. "Where do you go to school?"

"Yokosuka Middle School," the girl answers. "I'm in the third year."
So, one more point for Ono = Glass Witch?

Yeah, kinda? But to be honest I couldn't care less about Kyouske's trauma. He's going from crippled to healthy, he can deal with it being a bit spooky. His mental state is not my concern, and he's a dull enough character that I really want to keep him from impinging on the rest of the quest. My ideal endgame is Sayaka dating him and when she comes over to Mami's place he stays the hell home.

I'm open to other ways to achieve the same result.

Also, Witches don't heal people. We're good.

Honestly, he needs to learn to put the violin down sometimes. As it is, Kyosuke/Violin is the only stable happy relationship that's going to work there in the long term.

From what I've seen, the simplest solution (knocking him out) is the solution with the least chance of things going wrong.

Except that it doesn't defuse the Hitomi/Sayaka awkwardness, plus...how exactly are we knocking him out safely?
Shouldn't be too hard. Nick some laughing gas then stick a blindfold on him. That stuff is pretty difficult to overdose with, 19th century nobles used to use it as a party drug. Could float it over into his face from the next room over using ribbons or grief.

Ehhhhh. I'd rather just spill the beans and get this mess out in the open so everyone's clued in and they talk about their problems because fundamentally, that's what's wrong with PMMM. No one communicates properly.

The Hitomi and Sayaka mess is going to be an elephant in the room forever unless we do something about it or it gets worse.

Your complaint is that Kyousuke is bland (and I see your point), but I think that's really just a side effect of the plot focusing exclusively on the girls and not giving him a chance to show who he is for himself. If effort were made to make him a character in his own right, then he has the potential to be interesting. For instance, the scene where he breaks the CD is pretty moving as is the scene where he plays his violin for the first time (even though the focus for the viewers is Sayaka in both cases).

And if we're a bit spooky, that just means he would focus his attention on Mami or Homura instead. It would be hilarious for us to watch him chasing after Homura, but she would not be amused.

Point... but I don't see how romantic relationships are our problems. Our problems are more along the lines of keeping magical girls from dying. We aren't going around making sure every single student who goes to Mitakihara Middle School doesn't have problems caused by romantic relationships.
And I'm sure Homura has some chloroform or whatever to knock people out safely.
Of course, things would be different if we wanted to ship Sayaka with Kyouko (though that wouldn't practical because Sayaka's not a magical girl).

Sayaka's mental state is very much our problem- since it's related to Madoka's, she's prone to contracting, and helping her out helps Mami too. Why not fix everything?

Plus...shipping's neat, even if it isn't a priority at all.

It's a Madoka Magica quest. Shipping is a must, even if I'm not a shipper myself. Even if Kirika noticed that Mami probably has feelings for Sabrina.

Shipping is cool, but Kyosuke is best not shipped with anyone. He's unobservant, and a little thoughtless. He also isn't really romantically interested in anyone. He's best left to his violin after he's healed.
