Frankly, no. Mami and Homura insofar as they are providing the healing and should get as much of a say as us. If we were to ask anyone else, the candidates would be Kyouske himself or his parents.

Making this about Sayaka is not healthy or ethical for anyone involved.
That's actually a very good reason for making Sayaka a part of the discussion. One of the her problems is that she thinks that Kyousuke's healing is about her and we need to show her that it's not. If we made a decision without her knowledge and suddenly sprang it on her (e.g. if she walked in and found Kyousuke already healed) it wouldn't help her underlying problems as much as plain discussion would. Plus she knows Kyousuke (and his parents) better than any of the rest of us, so she probably has some insights to offer even though she is not the one making the decision.

timetop while he's asleep. Go in. Fix his hand. Get out.

Why must everything be so overcomplicated
Personally, I want to bust the whole "masquerade" thing wide open, at least with respect to our friends. We just need to do it in such a way that Kyousuke doesn't start crushing on us.

What do we need to discuss:
1. Whether we should use magic to heal Kyousuke today (obviously, we all vote yes, but Mami and Homura need to be on board as well).
2. Whether we should break the masquerade:
2a. to Kyousuke
2b. to Kyousuke's parents
2c. to Hitomi
2d. to the doctors
3. If we do tell Kyousuke, how do we avoid romantic attachment:
3a. Make it a group effort so that he can't focus on any one person
3b. Tell him about the lichbomb
3c. Charge him a steep price so that he doesn't feel like he owes us anything.
3d. Be rude and scary. Call him violin-boy.
3e. other ideas?

Edit: added 3c and 3d..

A) So in order to show her that it's not about her, we need to make it about her.
B) It totally is. We would not know who Kyousuke is if it weren't for her issues.

Personally, being rude as hell and telling him to tell Sayaka, "It's done, and she better stay away from Kyubey, for her own good." sounds like a plan to me. He's scared of us, and gets the impression that Sayaka involved herself in something dangerous for him.

Also, we refer to him exclusively as "Violin-Boy."

A) You can involve someone in a conversation and let them know that their observations are valued while at the same time making it clear that they are not the ones responsible for making the decision.
B) The reason that WE are involved in the first place is because of Sayaka. But Kyousuke's injuries and depression are his own. And his healing is between himself and whoever heals him, whether that be the doctors or magical girls or whatever. Sayaka is affected by how Kyousuke feels, and she was helpful in connecting him to us, but those are secondary. The primary agents in this case are Kyousuke, Sabrina, Mami, and Homura.

Violin boy is only relevant because of his ability to negatively affect Sayaka.

Let's try to keep his continued involvement in our lives to a minimum, please?

I'd really rather not have him around knowing about meguca stuff.

I hope all of these ideas are with the implicit notion that we will consult with Mami, Homura, and Sayaka first at the very least.

Going behind their backs for something like this will have pretty severe social repercussions.

We must harvest the Smug Madokas.

You delightful tease~
[] Ask Homura if we can join in on that.
-[] Be oddly enthusiastic.

"'Consultant neurologist'? But it's three in the morning! Why are you all wearing ski masks? What's with the baseball bat?!"
"Are you a medical professional? No? Well then, kindly shut the fuck up. Nurse, if you'd administer the, uh, anaesthetic?"
"Wait, wha-"

:V
You know, we can probably witch-up a sleep-inducing machine.

But physical violence is more fun...

Begin lecture on grief experiments and hypotheses - Death By Microsoft Powerpoint-DBMPTM- ensues.
Good ol' DBMP - putting entire lecture halls to sleep without fail since the end of the 20th century.
Kyousuke doesn't know about magic grief at all. We could, at least, talk about something he would know about. Unless that was the point...

But we could lecture him about music, hand injuries, hospital food, car accidents...

EDIT: Wait, not car accidents, that would be unkind to Mami.

[x] Ask Homura if you could join her.
[x] Telepathy Mami: You think you're beginning to get it a little. (Roof hopping.)
-[x] Talk about enchantment magic. Even if you haven't made much progress with it, is there any limits to the kinds of enchantments you can make?
--[x] Being able to enchant your bag so the grief inside doesn't feel witchy would be nice.
--[x] Or say... maybe enchanting an object with the property of cleansing soul gems?
--[x] Keep talking theories on magic. How it works. Etc.
[x] Drop Kirika off. Telepathy Oriko. Thank her for the help.
[x] Assuming Mami's done everything she wants to do, return to Homura, Madoka and Sayaka.

... you're vaguely tempted to note that you don't, technically, but that's not a helpful thing to say, is it?

...

"I get to skip schoooooool," Kirika lilts cheerfully from her seated position.
Heh.

Colour and noise floods back into the world, the subtle hum of the living city, the gentle warmth of sunlight, the gentle breeze blowing across the rooftops almost a sledgehammer to the senses after the endless silence of time stop.

Megane shivers slightly, turning her face up to the sun for a moment with her eyes closed before looking back at Mami.
Megane definitely seems to have been affected by the timestop.

Mami shakes her head. "She's... preoccupied with something," she says. "I'm not sure what."
My thoughts: we should check back with the Ono (via telepathy or phone) after we're done at the hospital.

You smile gently at Mami as the two of you leap from the roof in virtual lockstep, and she returns the smile, looking... content.
Yay!

"I don't think she's very useful," Homura says.
Homura's empathy is still a work in progress.

"I will be doing some stocking up tomorrow," Homura says. "For Walpurgisnacht."
Whelp, last time she didn't have enuff dakka to take out Wally, so this time she's going to get more. Or maybe we can see what happens when you magically enchant conventional firearms. It's worth a shot.

[] Ask Homura if we can join in on that.
[] Tell Mami that you think you're starting to get the hang of roof hopping.
[] Give Oriko a brief summary of the successful witch hunt and the ensuing conversation with Ono Megane.
[] Say goodbye to Oriko and Kirika and head back to meet the others at the hospital.
[] Telepathy Mami, Homura, Sayaka, and Madoka to have a discussion about healing Kyousuke.
-[] Tell them that you want to try to heal Kyousuke today, with Mami and Homura's help. Make it clear that we value Sayaka's insights as a close friend of Kyousuke, but it is us and Mami and Homura that are making the actual decision.
-[] Ask if they think we should let the following people know:
--[] Kyousuke (we lean towards yes)
--[] Kyousuke's parents (we lean towards yes, but that can be done later if they aren't present)
--[] Hitomi (we lean towards yes)
--[] The doctors (we lean towards no)
-[] Mention the possibility of Kyousuke becoming emotionally attached to his healers, which is something we want to avoid. Possible ways to do this:
--[] Three healers are better than one (we lean towards yes)
--[] Tell Kyousuke about the harsh realities of life (i.e. fighting witches and the lichbomb) (we lean towards yes)
--[] Charge Kyousuke for our services so that he doesn't feel indebted to us (we lean towards yes. Doctors charge for their services all the time and no one finds this odd. We would be providing a valuable service and the money could be useful, but we don't know how much would be appropriate).
--[] Be rude and scary. Call him violin-boy. (we lean towards no)
-[] If we decide not to tell Kyousuke, We would need to heal him without anyone knowing.
--[] timestop so that others don't notice.
--[] while he is sleeping so that Kyousuke doesn't notice.
--[] Use disguises to make ourselves unrecognizable (in case Kyousuke wakes up or if we don't use timestop).

You know, healing in general could be a viable source of income which would not require us to resort to theft or fraud. Whenever we need money, we can look around for patients that the doctors are unable to treat and offer to heal them.

Edit: added disguises.

We're only a minute away from Oriko's (at the most). These are some great conversation topics, but we won't have enough time to discuss most of them before we reach Oriko.

By the way, Muramasa, you have been a vocally against using precognition in the past. I made a post yesterday asking about some possible precog questions (i.e. for later, we probably don't have time now before we have to rush off to the hospital), so what is your opinion:
Later this evening (after Nagisa has gone home) we will probably have a little bit of time that we could use for experimentation. The highest priority experiment at the moment is to verify the safety of clear seeds: doing so would allow us to help people like Kyouko, Yuma, and Megane more than we were able to previously. There are a number of experiments that we can perform ourselves by using various combinations of clear seeds and normal seeds (and Mami and Homura do have some spare seeds that we can borrow). But the biggest two experiments that we need to perform in order to determine the long-term safety of clear seeds are the following:
1. Leave a clear seed with a meguca who uses it regularly for cleansing for a prolonged period.
2. Leave a clear seed in contact with a meguca's body or their soul gem for a prolonged period (i.e. to make sure that there are no deleterious consequences such as the witch trying to possess the meguca's body).

The only way we could perform the second experiment ethically would be to ask Oriko to simulate it using her precog. And the only way we could do the first in a reasonable time period would be the same. My question is to those of you who oppose the use of precog (either based on narrative grounds or because of the stress they cause Oriko or because of the perception of our over-reliance on Oriko): would you consider these questions be acceptable uses of precog?

@boonerunner

Don't have time to answer your question right now. Leaving for work. Going to say if we reach Oriko's before the magic talk is done, Sabrina will probably cut it off on her own, then continue it on the way to the hospital.

Just spill the beans to Hitomi, tell Kyousuke we're doing it because we're friends with his friends, and group heal. There, done.
