I am against this. Oriko's gem is darkening, which means if anyone but Sabrina grabs it and runs, they're going to have a witch spawn right on top of them soonish.
Well, with the anti-magic gone, hopefully ZA WARUDO is available again. If Homura stops time and heals Oriko's body, while we hold onto the gem, we should be fine, I think.

Can someone remind me if it is at all possible to produce bodies for soul gems that have their's destroyed ?

[x]...Cleanse Oriko's gem right now. Hang onto it.
[x]Tell Mami that it's over. We're okay, and Oriko and Kirka are down for the count. She shouldn't push herself, and we'll be with her as soon as we can.
[x]Homura: Good work. How long before she could heal from something like that? Can she timestop while we degrief/heal? we still need answers.
-[x]Take her gem. Timestop if we can, otherwise ask Homura to grab Kirika's. Degrief constantly, try and heal if you can despite your utter lack of experience. If Mami arrives, sees, and realizes...explain that Oriko's magic is keeping her alive.

I think that maybe this would be a good time to tell Mami about soul gems containing your soul incidentally. A lot of work has been done right now in propping up her psyche, they just won a major battle, Oriko is incapable of talking to throw a wrench in things. She's probably as psychologically stable as she's going to be for quite a while (note this is a comparative value versus her usual mental instability). This is probably the best time to tell her about it that will come in a long while.

It will probably come out eventually, and the longer Sabrina keeps it a secret the more it will feel like a breach of trust when it comes out later.

You know, when this little skirmish started Oriko was probably scared shitless. I mean due the her own actions not only she pissed of the physical avatar for a consensus of voices with questionable sanity and Homura. Pissing of even one of them is bad, but both? It's probably why she seem so desperate in the fight.

Eh well, acceptable collateral damage. Now to prevent Mami from losing it. This plan (Ugo's) seems workable:

It's never a good time beca- KYUBEY INTERRUPT /人◕ ‿‿ ◕人\.

We've wasted this much time and effort. We may as well find out what the point was before doing a "SQ Special Eviction Speech" if Oriko can be reasonable with Kirika's life on the line and both of them at gunpoint.

Top priority is to heal Oriko's body so she's less obviously dead when Mami shows up.

Yup. Contrary to popular belief some secrets are meant to, you know, stay secret. If it ever comes out, we deal with it as the time comes.

Word of GM.

The series of events leading up to this point, with Homura rolling a 91 on her search and culminating with you guys actually getting Oriko (going after Oriko instead of Kirika would have had a Kirika interrupt on Homura, and things would have turned out poorly) , was mildly unexpected for Oriko and me both. Oriko totally wasn't expecting to be found.

Really? You should have known better than to bet against SV. Not even pre-cog can save you from us.

Still. Lucky roll is lucky though.

Of course, us being there and capable of describing exactly what the soul gem looks like lets us spin it as less "I'M A ROCK" and more "I can literally see the soul gem acting like an extra heart except for magic". Still going to end badly, especially with Kyubey there to help out, but we can try and blunt the impact- and it'd sink Mami's trust in Kyubey forever.

Top priorities
a)stop Orikowitch
b)secure soul gems
c)heal Oriko so her head no longer looks like hamburger when Mami sees it

Hmm... I'd presume she can use precog for dodging and whatnot, but... maybe she can't see all the possibilities - that'd drain her in an instant, with the sheer amount of computing she'd go through - but maybe she can see the "most likely" possibilities? Or she just didn't know what to look for?
Did I say I was unprepared for this? :p

[q]Trip
--[q] accidentally land on Homu-homu
---[q] with the warhammer on top of Oriko's gem

Swerving around the corner, you take in the scene. Oriko's body, collapsed in a bloody pile on the ground. She's been virtually decapitated, and her left arm is simply gone below the shoulder. You spy the silvery blue gleam of her Soul Gem, still intact, but rapidly swirling into abyssal darkness.
Mami stepped forward, smiling uneasily. "Well, I guess she... LOST HER HEAD!"

Sabrina and Homura looked at her, then at each other, then back at Mami. Mami seemed baffled.

"What? What's wrong with a good head joke?"

You're probably all right, but I get the feeling that Oriko was Not Prepared.
Pretty much!
This is an accurate representation of Oriko from the moment you brought her into the timestop.
When there is a grief spiral, does it accelerate faster to the point we can't draw the grief out in time?
"I wish to control grief! My own! That of others! The grief of the Witches! All of it!"

Mind you, neither Sabrina or Homura have any potent healing abilities. Unhamburgering Oriko is going to be easier said then done.

Oh and Ugo, you might want to update your score card.
