That would be actually killing Oriko right? Because Mami won't find out about the whole Gems = Souls and Puella can survive body death if Oriko doesn't actually survive.

Homura can just say that with her shield out of commission she couldn't take Oriko non-lethally.

The others make sense, but what exactly is the issue with converting Grief into a different emotion? That doesn't SEEM dangerous, though it probably most certainly IS.

Meh, any damage on them that isn't past the "there is no way even Meguca could survive that" borderline is acceptable. And as long as all three of us are mobile, well that's okay too. The only issue here is Mami, but we can't bomb her recklessly, 'cuz loltetris.

Would it be to cleanse Oriko quickly, stuff all the evidence into the shield, and "Oriko? Got away with two broken arms and no girlfriend." Mami?

Actually, since Mami doesn't know about the lichbomb, we could just hang onto Oriko's gem and say she ran away without it. Keep cleansing it covertly as we go and heal/interrogate Oriko whenever the hell we want.

Well in Mami's mind, anything that will kill a normal human will kill a meguca.

Oriko's head is kinda hanging on by threads at this point and she's missing her right arm from the shoulder down.

You hopefully see the issue here.
 
I'd like it better if we didn't have to deal with the consequences of no sleep for all meguca on top of Mamitrauma and Homura's time stop possibly being on the fritz along with a conscious Oriko to lich/witchbomb... But I see the point. Better to deal with it now I guess.
