As long as she's not obviously dead and we can heal her in timestop...

Mami: *Limps over* Well, that was certainly… *Stares*
Sabrina: *Surrounded by a massive cloud of grief* What?
Mami: Sabrina, where did all that come from?
Sabrina: I've always had it!
Mami: No… No, you didn't have that much grief before the fight.
Sabrina: Yes I did! Homura, back me up here!
Homura: *Completely deadpan* Yes, Sabrina has always had this much grief this evening.
Sabrina: ^_^;;
Mami: -_-

Sabrina should hold the gems, not Homura, unless we can convince her to be a little less Murderface now that we've successfully taken both down. We don't want Homura executing anyone unless we can convince Mami that's it's a necessity (and it may well be a necessity, depending on Oriko's reasons and how well or poorly our Sabriplomacy works on enemies).

As for timestopping to make Oriko more presentable... she surely knows how Mami would react to the Lichbomb, so we should take measures to make sure she won't spill that secret if we go out of our way to give her a functioning head + lungs again. That might mean doing the entire interrogation/diplomacy in timestop before Mami arrives.

...gah, if someone can figure out how to navigate this without lying to Mami, that would be much preferable. Having lethal secrets constantly at risk of exposure and having to do half our actions behind Mami's back while convincing her we're not leaving her out isn't helping anything, but I don't think we've done enough with Mami to make just telling her safe yet.

[x]...Cleanse Oriko's gem right now. Hang onto it.
[x] Tell Mami that it's over. We're okay, and Oriko and Kirika are down for the count. She shouldn't push herself, and we'll be with her as soon as we can.
[x] Homura: Good work. Can you take me into your timestop? We still need answers... and Mami won't like seeing this.

-[x] Timestop if we can, otherwise ask Homura to grab Kirika's gem. Degrief constantly, try and heal Oriko's 'life threatening' injuries if you can despite your utter lack of experience.

We can't be in two places at once- and we can trust Homura not to act on impulse with Madoka not directly involved.

We heal and interrogate her in timestop- and execute her there if we need to. If we do need to make threats, and we hopefully shouldn't, we can make it clear to Oriko that if she gets Mami or anyone else we know killed, we're going to make a point of making sure Margot/KirikaWitch happens before we kill them. It doesn't matter if we mean it; if we need to go full intimidation, that probably would do it.

That shouldn't come up though- if we can defuse Oriko, learn what she's so worried about, and convince her our plan will work/ the world will be safe, we offer the motivation of "you and Kirika should take a long, long holiday out of the country", ie: they stay alive.

Long holiday? I wanna recruit them!

edit: ....assuming that's even possible/safe, of course. Depends entirely on how this conversation goes.

Let's not recruit them. Even in a best case scenario, they're too dangerous/unstable/untrustworthy. Yes, keep your enemies where you can see them...but in this case, we make an exception.

Assuming Oriko's doing this to save Mitakihara/the world (which may not be the case), and if we're not going to try recruiting them, then we need to do our absolute best to convince them that either
1) We will absolutely definitely prevent Madoka from contracting and defeat Walpurgisnacht ourselves, and/or
2) We will absolutely definitely and horribly murder both Oriko and Kirika. Even if they leave town and come back to try to jump us when we least expect it.

Walpurgisnacht and Gretchen are both horrible catastrophes on a massive scale. If we're running Oriko and Kirika out of town, we are essentially asking them to walk away from those catastrophes. Either they need to be sure we can handle it, or they need to be sure we can handle them.

(Or, you know, grind soul gems into fine dust. Don't give them the chance. But I'd prefer not unless they're being absolutely intractable.)

hmm... maybe it would be better to initiate timestop first instead of spending clockticks on assuring Mami and asking Homura questions?

That's if it works at all. Her shield's gears are "blackened". No idea what that might actually do to the timestop itself.

Edit:
...Alternately we go back to Mami, stall her (by clumsily healing her maybe?), Homu heals Oriko enough to speak, interrogate them as a group.

Stalling her while healing her also reinforces the fact that yes we do care about Mumi. Homu's got Oriko well enough in hand and Kirika is knocked out and bound by grief manacles.

IT Rep voice: So your time machine stopped working? Have you tried retransforming?

Hehe...this kinda reminds me of my Infinite Grief Generator idea...

Wait 'til you start driving coobie into despair.

I meant more the grief of random people on the street, but that works too.

Also, terrible idea number 342: Can, with enough grief, we cause a non-meguca to witch out?

343: Can we build our own labarynth/familiars, and hard code the familiars to be good guys?

344: Can we infect Kyuberz with grief?

345: Grief control hopefully includes conversion. If so, can we convert it into other emotions?

The first one would be interesting to test out, but impractical/unethica;. The others need testing so much it isn't funny.
