Hmmm...

@Academia Nut, another question which I hope isn't frustrating but since DL requires Kingly authorization to happen, why would it be that a civil war that starts by us refusing to DL has Alyx and Shunmyn on the side of the Pro-DL people? It seems to make more logical sense for him to be against the rebelling folks.

Is it basically a case of, Alyx is being pressured by the priests and urban patricians immensely(those against DL) and they provoke him by being disharmonious and thus he slides over to supporting DL entirely and going into the Civil War which the priests and Urban patricians start?

Sorta it coming down to the difference between the leader(King) and the zeitgeist(us)?

The current plan has a problem. Right now, we're voting to do:

[ ] [Secondary] Distribute Land
[ ] [Secondary] Distribute Land x2
[ ] [Secondary] Enforce Justice
[ ] [Secondary] Hunt Troublemakers
[ ] [Secondary] Repair Damage
[ ] [Secondary] Found Free City - Lower Valleyhome
[ ] [Secondary] Found Free City - Sacred Forest
[ ] [Secondary] Proclaim Glory
[ ] [Secondary]Repair Damage x2
[ ] [Guild Sec] More Warships

As it currently sits, we can't complete the Trader quest. We're spending 7 of our 12 Wealth in this plan so no one will be able to make Warships with any of their actions. Since Faction actions are Main strength, we need at least 8 Wealth available for them to take More Warships.

[ ] [Secondary] More Warships currently sits 3 votes behind Repair Damage x2. In order to pass the Trader quest, we need it to climb up 3 votes or have Proclaim Glory drop 6 votes so it's forgotten.

Please reconsider your votes in light of this information. We need to either drop Proclaim Glory or Repair Damage x2. We don't have the Wealth an action space to do both. One must go.

[X] [Secondary] More Warships

It's all confusing to me. I thought actions are merely secondaries. Are all province actions and faction actions main strength? If so, can they be subdivided into secondary actions?

Thanks for the note-have swapped Build Warships from my vote entirely to avoid disharmony, since the provinces can take it themselves as a Main otherwise.

I know you said we are on the path for a Sec Warships + Main Warships, so I had a question. King's agenda actions are secondaries unless they fuse or are doubled right?

The first action that works towards the king's agenda gets doubled. Since the Patricians are not letting any of their power slip away, they are going to comply with the king's agenda and use one of their actions to do that, and the other two to Distribute Land.

The action needs the authorization of the King to do it. Yet ye does not do it and the quest fails. Now Civil War. Yet despite it beimg completely his fault I have no idea why it would make sense for him to turn around and join the civil war on the other side. Immediately after he denied the request for Distribute Land.

They wouldn't trigger right away, but if you were trying to force a civil war this turn, when Alyx is still king, then it would be so out of character that the only way it could make sense was if there was a splinter group not associated with the king or the pro-distribute groups trying to make the fight go early. Basically if you give the kingship to Shunmyn he'll take over and give the Patricians what they want, if they haven't already been appeased. If you decided that he shouldn't be king and dig your heels in on distribute... well, you can guess who the leader of the rebels would be.

Does uh

Does Alyx understand that his son would probably be a terrible king for anything but war, who the bureacracy'd mostly have to work around

And that answers my question basically. Thanks!

Hopefully we can get him to become the Grand High War Chief (aka Martial Advisor with more bells and whistles than a Tropico Generalissimo)

How would we even influence that?

Then explain, because that was a big :???: to me.

Basically, if you deliberately tried to trigger a civil war this turn, it would be too out of character for Alyx or the pro-distribute factions to do it. If you kept dragging your feet, you would then be presented with "Make Shunmyn heir?" question, and if you did he would take over a turn and distribute all the land the patricians want. If you didn't and then pissed off the patricians, he would be leading the pro-distribute faction, and bringing most of the military and food with him.

All right, well, looks like we couldn't even muster the sizeable minority resistance we had going before for Round 2. Shame. Time to try and unfuck the boat vote I guess?

Why do we need to do that? If we use the guild secondary to build the harbor, then the patricians would be likely to build main warship for us.

Do you mean Shunmyn?

hmmm does this mean we might be able to keep Shunmyn from becoming king if we do distribute land?

What would happen if we appease the pro-distribute faction and not make Shunmyn heir?
