@Academia Nut, what would a Intrigue Mission aimed at the Patricians do at this point? Does it have a chance to let us skip by this without taking DL, or going into civil war?
 
We need to remember that it is still a spite quest. We tried going around and it did not work anymore. So now we have to face it head on.

Sorry but standing up for your believes is never a waste of time and in this case we should be able to actively forbid disturbing land or at least spiritually unclean with the help of the priests once the civil war is won

It's really not worth a civil war over this, better to do this with a capable Admin at the helm than be forced. As for all the voters insisting on a civil war... that's batshit insane. Our oversea holdings go, our vassals suddenly balk at the halter, there's minimal political support against the Patricians, and all while we have a fucking King of the Hill bearing down on us.

We need to accept this, and try and do it on the most favorable and ironclad terms we can. If we try and die on this hill, we are self-centered egotistical brats courting disaster for no other reason than high-minded principles our society isn't ready to accept. We can screech about the Patricians being bad, but if we allow the civil war we're harming far more than they intend to.

You know, I am not against taking some DL in the future, but come on. 4 mains in 3 turns is far too much rapid change, especially under a threat of civil war.

Hm. In fact. @Academia Nut , how do we get rid of Arete line? Will killing every patrician until it disappears work?
Because, like. It is a bad trait. It is all about stratification and valuing individuals above community. The traitline seriously needs to die at this point.

Hey folks we have seven secondaries now. I updated my vote to reflect that, this time with Intrigue Missions and free city founding.
 
I wish we could have spawned an Administrative genius, Then we could DL to our heart's content with bad shit minimized.
