At the scale of Hadrian's Wall, sure.

That wall is 117.5 km long, between anywhere 3-5 meter wide, 3.5 meter to 6 meter tall based on construction material, paraphrased from wikipedia. Soldiers from three occupying legion did the work, which is about 15,000 men total, but no words are mentioned about what percentage is required to complete the work.

It was also completed in about six years.

Truly a reminder that, yes, the romans were indeed that bullshit.

@Academia Nut - I want to second Abby Normal's request for info on the Gulvalley stats.
As it is, I'm looking at some of our current stat values, and they seem odd in places; if possible, I'd like to see the numbers to double-check things.
Yeah, like now that i actually look at our current stats instead of our old stats...they had no wealth? And just in general, i just dont see how this represents "4-8 points in most stats"...
Gaining 4-8 points in most stats.

No, the Thunder Speakers had the nomad steppes to their north and the Thunder Horse to their south. Thunder Horse is still alive.

I'm asking Academia Nut.

Remember the plague was preventing wealth income. They may have also have switched off isolated economy.

Or it's an actually doable project for the Ymaryn. It requires 15,000 men, not all of them are doing the work, because they are also patrolling the British isle.

Wasn't the entire reason they got as far as they did was due to the border fortifications being abandoned?

The Thunder Horse would need to fortify the pass into the lowland or start colonizing westward.

All in, I want Purity altered.

Yes, but then consider that the romans did this at the end of their logistics train, without a major mobilization of the nation's resources, and with the manpower of just a couple of the legions.

At the very least, we'd have to spend a few generations adding a main to do the same. The romans just went 'fuck it' and had their legions do the work for them. Like, I'm not sure if that would even require a single main on their part to do.

The colony of the British Isle are their logistic train.

You also don't need fired bricks. You just need rammed earth in some cases. That is how some part of the Great Wall of China is built.

[X] Pursue the survivors (War does not end)
Dude, why in the world. We have SO many other fires to put out - let's take the dang people in. It helps mitigate xenophobia, it helps reinforce our deepest and most important values, it fulfills the Patrician quest, it frees up actions to let us focus on the three billion other things we need to get done at this point. For the love of Crow, let it end.

One angry voice against the consensus of the priesthood and the patricians.

Always that one guy
One angry voice against the consensus of the priesthood and the patricians.
'So we're all agreed?'
'Aye.'
'Yes.'
'The god's desires are clear.'
'Alright then, now we must prepare to--'
'I OBJECT!'
'Oh gods, not you...'

*Obviously drunk patrician stumbles to the front*
'I DEMAND WE KILL THEM ALL! NO MERCY FOR THE HORSEF*CKERS!'
King: 'Dammit, who let him in. I thought I told the guards to lure him to the taverns if he showed up...'
'And how do you propose we do that?'
'IT'S OBVIOUS! THEY HAVE HORSES, BUT WE HAVE SOMETHING BETTER!'
'What? We do?'
'SHEEP! WE SHALL RIDE OUR FLOCKS INTO BATTLE!'
'...Right, we'll do that then. Hey, you know, I heard there was a tavern that was giving out free beer.'
*Patrician surreptitiously hands coins to guard, guard leaves to find tavern*
'I KNOW WHERE I AN NEEDED!'
'...Gods dammit, being king sucks.'

Hell, we did much the same after literally the second conflict with nomads we had, iirc, where we pissed off the People in order to take in a bunch of nomads who'd been attacking us, after the nomad hero died and their horde collapsed...hell, iirc the refugees were headed by one of the heroes sons i think
colonies prioritise growth and economy, Marches prioritise fortifying and squashing threats
Also, while the marches can declare war on their own, they're honestly less likely to end up with us in a nomad war we can't win, because they wont attack unless they expect to succeed or if it'll get worse if they dont, while a colony will just expand into the steppe and piss off nomads in the name of growth.

Your desire for harmony is commendable, but i fear it is for naught.
See the truth that is the logic in your words, and then speak his name to know futility.
Wise OliWhail, do not try to convert a zealot, but spend your words to give guidance to the insecure.

This is correct, and we also got a trait evolution from that!

Purity is young enough, and these are extreme enough circumstances that I hope it will evolve it in a nice direction. Because I like that trait (while keeping in mind it's a level 1 trait), unlike other people. Even if it doesn't, it should still push it in that direction. Even if that doesn't, it is still a really good thing to do all around.

If we could keep the parts about physical purity while removing the cultural purity bits it would be a pretty good trait, though not without its problems. Hopefully mercy for the nomads will, if not give us this straight away at least push the trait in this direction.
