We have characteristics of many of them really. We live in the forest therefore wood elf, interested in stars and magic therefore high elf, like boats and merchants therefore sea elf, and probably more too.

Dwarves for sure due to industriousness and dourness. And guilds.

Probably one of the best IRL equivalents I have seen is probably Svartálfar.

And two interesting images in connection to them.

Not a useful definition since it literally encompasses everything.

Clearly we are Homo corvus, also known as "Elf" in common tongue.

No, a distinct characteristic of homo sapien is that we have pointy ears or at least it used to be. It only got pointed out by those weird round-ears who everyone thought were elves. To this day, they strongly insists that we were the elves.

Then the biologists on both side of the portal got together and promptly declared that we were all humans. I call bullshit. The round-ears are clearly elves.

Megaproject:
The council
A great gathering of priests and Shamans where Spirits, faith, ideas and discoveries are discussed and spread.
Req:
10 lvl 1 temples, lvl 2 temple in every true city?, Grand temple.
Cost?
Actions?
Effect:
provides a free inovation roll each turn, strengthens inward tech spread, strengthens pilgrimage?, strengthens unity of faith.

This is how we strengthen our culture, and presence in the warp. I fully support this. The merchants are too quick to look for loopholes. It's time to up religious authority.

any constructive input?
I could possibly take cues from the council of nikea in solidifying our religion, butvas far a structure I think that will come to a vote if Academia Nut considers this a valid megaproject. Barring any response from QM this is only a moonshot idea with theoretical benefits. Trolling wikis for organizational types and their benefits can't hurt in the meantime.

It'd probably spawn a reorganisation of the religion, now that i think about it.
It was designed as a unifying force for our subs.

Speaking of religions, in Civ terms, what would ours be? I'm thinking:

One With Nature
Peace Loving
Feed the World
Divine Inspiration? Religious Art?
Reliquary
Sacred Sites

Sadly Civ One with Nature is pretty bad for us-gives a boost to natural wonders. We have like one of those.

I am working on creating a flag for The Ymaryn and will post the finalized result here once it is complete. I will be on the Discord gathering ideas and criticisms of the work in progress flag till then.

Well if we were to boil what we currently know of our religion, and religious knowledge, down to a few points, outside of the Civ system we'd get:

Alien but Knowable Demon God of Creation. (Look to Hindu Asura concepts, and Natural Forces. In some ways Crow is literally the God of High Energy Physics)

There are Unclean things in this world. (Death mostly and other sins/crimes that break harmony)

Interruption of natural processes can be harmful. (Disease is filtering into this nascent point in recent times)

Harvest Goddess of Life and great importance as a wife figure for Crow.
The Forest is holy and thus the land of Ymar where it is grown throughout is also holy. (Simple logic here really)

Demons are spirits which have no place in the natural order and thus are different. (I think there are some noises about some demons simply being spirits whose functions are not yet understood)

Harmony is essential. (All of our collectivist traits and tradition say so)

The World before the Ymaryn was a strange place.

Duality is everywhere. (Another new point, that mixes interestingly with the interruption idea)

And that's all the big concepts I can really think of of the top of my head, outside the thing in Informational about how we organize our spirits and Gods and our foundation and cosmogeny stories.

Some suggestions:

Our badges of office are usually staff like tools. So the Clerk Chief would have a stylized brush/pencil. Abstracted tools may be a good addition to the flag

Our most iconic symbol of wealth is red dye. It's also a symbol for martial prowess as it is what the Red Banner uses. Thats something for coloration.

We base a lot of our success on agriculture, so it needs to be added in some part.

Lastly, our artisans are absolutely boss. We had iron for centuries before anyone else and our craftsmanship is nigh peerless (except pottery). So we should represent industry as well.

Adding all this together, I'd say we take a red background and add some tools in front of it.

Like this.

:p

I have in my head a red background with a stylized tree in the center. On one of the lower branches is perched a crow holding in its beak a stalk or more of grain with seeds dropping off it.
