There is more gradation than that. The geography is very similar to Earth, but also meaningfully different. The cultures are similar, but also still meaningfully different.

Well, Megaproject is a must for one Main. With Stallion Tribe integration in the lead, we pretty much have to change policy if we want to keep the peace. That leaves one secondary.

I hope we can send a trade mission to Storm Wolves to ensure that we have a bit more time not having to fight them.

Platitudes and buzzwords sound good- but it takes a true dumbass to think endless ambition is any sort of winning strategy.

Let's ignore the fact that leads territory underdeveloped and under-defended, that it creates massive vulnerable borders, that it is administratively nigh impossible, and a total house of cards. If we ignore reality- then it's a perfectly serviceable plan, and the plans that ignore reality are always appealing to someone who doesn't have to enforce it.

The fact that idiocy has as many likes as it does is just depressing.

There comes a point where the effort of administrating the new gains isn't worth said gains. Assuming some cyclic progression of indefinite expansion is just a stupid impossible dream.

You've got multiple epic cycles out of this. It's why I named the sequence 'Epic Age'. I knew that whatever happened, the survivors would have this period seared into their collective consciousnesses, and even if they all died out future historians would be talking about this like a combination of the Epic of Gilgamesh, the Iliad and the Ramayana for millennia. Like, I think anything short of a major bollide collision to Anatolia would be insufficient to not have this talked about by everyone in contact with you from now on. For the People and the Khemetri, this sequence will be a part of their culture, any successor states, and all of their neighbours and their successor states.

If we stay on offensive policy next turn the provinces probably do double main raise army, solidifies our concept of a standing army while also giving us a flexible merc unit instead of inflating our martial.

Seems pretty solid.
