At times it feels like it can also stifle discussion as well, as I'll see every once and awhile a few people come by with a copy-pasted vote of one of the more popular debaters and leave. It makes me feel like trying to debate at all past 20 pages after AN has updated is pointless because some posters have already gotten bored and started doing their rp stuff, so it's not like anyone would want to read through that to find compelling arguments.

There's always at least ten people on this thread. I mean, you'll get BETTER debate from waiting till a high traffic time. But most voters don't read most of the arguments anyhow.

You made a claim about historical events, you back it up.
I CAN back up that offence policy results in materiel and deployment (because those are the actions it can take) and defense results in defensive infrastructure in core territories (because those are the actions it can take.)
Your claim that it directs tactics (which generally aren't even under the purview of the king unless he's on the battlefield) is narratively unlikely. OTOH, since you claimed it's happened in the past to us, you presumably have some evidence...
