Sorry, but it's one of the things that make the salt bearable. OTOH, you can definitely get by with smart skipping in this thread. If it's been 30 pages since an update, just:
  1. Read the update
  2. Search and read all AN
  3. Search for a couple analysis guys you like (Bungie, veekie and notgreat for me)
  4. Check the latest tally
That's all you need to contribute intelligently. I mean, feel free to read more if you want. But sometimes I just don't have time for that. Wife, kid, job, kayaking... RL adds up for all of us. ;)
Also, many of us switch colours when we talk in character or add in images. Those you can ignore.

Also fairly irritating as the thread has enough on topic stuff to read through without wading through that as well.
At times it feels like it can also stifle discussion as well, as I'll see every once and awhile a few people come by with a copy-pasted vote of one of the more popular debaters and leave. It makes me feel like trying to debate at all past 20 pages after AN has updated is pointless because some posters have already gotten bored and started doing their rp stuff, so it's not like anyone would want to read through that to find compelling arguments.

You make me sad :p

...Just ignore the fact that my analysis usually comes way later, and focuses on numbers over suggestions and also has been getting way later and less extensive the last few updates as life distracts me more and more <.< >.>
Lol, I look for YOUR updates when I'm upkeeping my history chart. :D. I also enjoy them a lot more now that they're spoilered. I have... trouble with veekies.

Note that the first five are usually filled with panic, so take those with a bit of salt as well.

Indeed. But Max is the local prophet of the flock. And bungie is the Kyuubey BLAMer. And VoidZero is the, er, Kyuubey. (He really deserves it though!)

"Well, I don't know about that..."

*rummages around in pocket*

"But he did sell me this neat little egg! And all it took was a wish!"

There's always at least ten people on this thread. I mean, you'll get BETTER debate from waiting till a high traffic time. But most voters don't read most of the arguments anyhow.

Or if you feel arguments are being left out you can link all the relevant arguments to an early post in the Thread like what I did back during the Tax argument.

You can thank @PrimalShadow for the suggestion to spoiler them :) Also, since this update didn't really have much to analyze, and the vote is over, i dont think i'll do a full post, but for search purposes if/when i or anyone else need the diffcheckers later:
Analysis and Diffcheckers -- "Epic Age II"
Diff Checker (Civ Sheet)
Diff Checker (BBCode)
...Which includes a new update as of an hour ago; AN added a new tech to our list:
Which presumably is that new triangle sail innovation :)

I guess we could try to weave together a poem for the Fall or Xohyr. Or try to plot the story arcs? All we have is bits and pieces, but they ain't going to be coherent.

Or we could write negaverse omakes?

A lot of it is when certain people meet. Bungie, Max, me, VoidZero and Sivantic at least have RP identities (represented by our profile pics). It's an anti-salt tonic. You can't be salty while training wheat to make the very BEST whiskey after all... or when *BLAM*ing Kyuubey... or when proclaiming the values of the flock.
Maximilian is a wise sheep for figuring this out as early as he did.

"Wait."

*looks at avatar*

"Aren't you a wise wolf? How would that even work?"
Infrastructure does 1/3 of a secondary action each turn. Defense does a full secondary action each turn. And I'd think walls are even less likely to be done manually.

Another point: walls enable local settlements to resist the 'justice' imposed by the central tyranny. In a sense, walls are a fundamental building block of feudalism because they allow smaller polities to have retain more power.

@Raichu1972 too(can't grab their quote). I apologize if you folks are annoyed by it. Feel free to speak up when you feel annoyed and ask me to stop and I'll stop. (Seriously, I'm not joking or pulling a lark)

I have to respect you guys too.

You made a claim about historical events, you back it up.

I CAN back up that offence policy results in materiel and deployment (because those are the actions it can take) and defense results in defensive infrastructure in core territories (because those are the actions it can take.)

Your claim that it directs tactics (which generally aren't even under the purview of the king unless he's on the battlefield) is narratively unlikely. OTOH, since you claimed it's happened in the past to us, you presumably have some evidence... ;) I believe you, hence the request for citation.

Looking back into the past policies i have to admit that we have not EVER switched to a defense policy in time of war. So what i claimed (green highlight) is not true. Bugger hell off to eat my own words! Can't believe we did not have defense policy once.

I'm backing defensive policy because it will make our sub-states use war mission in defensive way and that this war will take a while for it to start up and level off.
And hardening our core can mean that we require less warriors stationed to maintain the same security level.

I really fear for this thread though. That is almost 4 days of no updates.

I really hope we do not devolve into the chaos that was Battle Action Harem Highschool Side Character Quest.

Fyi, this was super helpful.
"Why thank you wise wolf!"

*pets wolf in sheeps clothing*

"Happy to be of service. I hope it helped people to keep informed and not make rash decisions with arguably our most important vote."

"Wait what?"

"Link to silliness?"

I'm less agreeable than he is but... I promise to at least THINK about stopping! :D

(Seriously though, an RP conversation can often be taken to PM if it's actively annoying people.)
