If I am sure thread votes for Double Main Boats + Secondary Support next turn, I am quite fine with this. It will give us influence, and back it with show of force....risky, but okay.
Thing is, we still have Palace in the owen and nomads in the backyard, so I am not sure whether we will have actions for that combo.
Personally, I intend to Main Palace x2, with a secondary that doesn't consume Econ (so not boats/support, but a secondary war mission is possible).

Yeah. AN said that the approval voting doesn't matter the way that he counts votes, but acknowledged that it might piss other players off.

@Academia Nut,
What do we know about the taiga tribes? Are they bone and flint using Hunter gatherers? Semi settled? Or proto germanic Tribal confederations?

And why exactly is the red banner needed? For possible Nomadic incursions on the river routes? Wildlife, Bandits or opportunistic tribals? Or as escort for the large convoy heading out to establish the post?

Lastly, is it the actual taiga or the forest belts to the south of it?
From what I can tell on the last question, it's just the forest belt based on previous info. We're REALLY that bad at dealing with cold weather.

We asked AN about the local tribes before, he said we'd need to colonize further north or send more exploratory missions to learn more, since the first time we encountered winter our explorers got wrecked.
Come to think of it, did we ever go to the ruin of Xohyr to get things and precious metals that survived the sack? Would be wasteful just leaving them to random marauders.
As far as I know, nope. Looters got it all long ago.

Depends on the circumstances. Barring an immediate war, I'd actually lean towards Main Palace + Main Support(sooner it hits maturity, the less we need to be concerned).
In the event of an immediate war, we could leave the palace to the provinces and Main Boats + Main Support, unless there's a blockade, then we show them Ymaryn Overkill with Double Main Boats + something else.

Don't see the problem myself, as long as they're properly tagged.

If nothing else, Influence Subordinate (which we all think is a useful action), costs nine resources per major action (well, eleven, but the mystic is refunded). So really, venting resources if we need to isn't a problem at all.
oooh, good point. Lowlands, WTP, or stallions?

How would that work considering I'm pretty sure that they get gems from the Tin Tribes as well, and putting the Trade Post near the Tin Tribe allows us to leverage their gems as well as their Tin
Tin Tribes have Gems, Trelli have Gems
Western Trade Post covers Tin Tribes and Trelli
Eastern Trade Post covers Trelli.

So if we want to leverage Gem dominance over them, Western Trade Post is better. Eastern requires not being at war with the Trelli.
You are of course both completely rignt. I didn't check the trade goods table for competition. My only thought process was that we got gems in Hatvalley and that an increase in trade from there to the Trelli (and on to NotEgypt) would boost our trade power.

Poor PTSD-chan, but if we found the WTP, we really do have to fortify it.
But they're discussing influence subordinate, not support. I don't think influencing a brand new trading post will do much.

I'd do PTSD-chan.

Edit: though... I don't think overflowing all our stats is actually going to be an issue.

*rants about not being properly paranoid*

I am somewhat interested in Main Support new TP + Main Influence Lowlands/Support one of the Northern subordinates. I think postponing Palace for slowly chipping away at cultural drift is worthwhile trade.
Because our main slow-burn problems are cultural drift, Lowlands and fucking Nomads.

Whatever happens, I want to try and one-turn the Census. We'd probably get a strong narrative bonus from Joyful Symphony what with people taking time out of their schedule to finish the project and we'd also be doing it essentialy for free.

It would really interesting to see how this would be represented narratively. May even have a good effect on our traits.

If it's Hatvalley building Docks probably would do more for that I think. But for influencing them via trade control we'd have to take control of foreign sources.

That does give up a Symphony bonus however, which would be a harder sell for the Palace.

Also, addition of "Transcendental to behold" to the description may may mean we enhanced the symphony bonus to some extent.

You can only vote for one expansion plan.
Not how it works. Academia Nut lets us vote as we want, but he's the one who figures out which actually passed. For example, in cases where he have mandatory war missions, he's stated that if none of the winning votes was that war-mission, he'd nix the lowest passing vote and put in a war-mission. Narratively I imagine it would be a large group of advisors being overruled on what they want because of necessity, and likely not being happy about that.

My vote is basically saying there's someone advising the king that a Trade Post west or east of the Trelli is good and they support either.

Obviously we'll get a Mystic Hero.
"In those days a decree went out from the King of Valleyhome that all the world should be registered. This was the first registration and was taken while Kwyrynna was chief of Redshore. All went to their province capitals to be registered."

Doubtful that we would ever get a mystic hero king we did decide that the shamans should get 0 political power so the most we can hope for is another mystic hero adviser.

Actually no, priests can be elected King like any Chief. Remember these are the legitimate election pool for King:
-Provincial Chief
-Provincial Chief Priest
--Which has one seat for each province.
-Royal <Job> Chief
--Which always has a Royal Spirit Chief as a guaranteed position

Mostly it's that the priests rarely WANT the position.
It'd take time away from doing SCIENCE Magic!

Lolwynna was certainly good enough but she was never even a candidate by barring the priests from entering politics we barred the way to get a mystic hero to become King it is a direct consequence of our actions.
No?
Lolywnna was barred from the job because she has Atrocious Diplomacy. As in she could barely be understood because she spoke only in metaphors and symbols.

Rulwyna, I might remind you, is considered a Shaman by the council.
