On the one hand the southerners had little interest in war as a people, but on the other hand when they did fight it was with a ferocity and intensity that Chakur and the Hawks had long ago agreed they were glad was on their side. Some of the more philosophical warriors had come to the conclusion that the southerners had no capacity for being in-between. Either you were their friend, who they would share their food and drink with, or you were an enemy to be killed, burned, the ashes ground to flour, and the flour scattered to the winds. There was no in-between and they could switch between the two states with alarming speed, but the latter state was frankly rather exhausting.
Heaven's Hawks has gained Love of Wisdom.
What does Love of Wisdom say?

Upon careful analysis, the Ymaryn are yandere.

[] [Mine] Accidents happen

Not a good attitude, but convenient for Stability.

[] [Mine] Admit that mistakes were made on the record so that future rulers might not repeat them (-1 Stability)

Good for government transparency and future rulers.

[] [Mine] Mistakes were made, and the initial wealth was made possible by the death of others, it should be disposed of (-1 Stability, -2 Wealth)

This might spur Greater Justice to evolve I think(particularly the idea that you can go beyond preventing the harm and that you should make recompense), but we really could use that wealth for other stuff in the current situation.

@Academia Nut , a question would Mortar change the costs or progress needed for our various large stonework infrasturcture and megaprojects.

We're probably going to start the Census after we finish the Palace (and then start on Iron Age law) so switching out of Megaproject Support isn't going to happen for a while.
Also our Religious Authority is now yellow. What happens if we go above our RA cap @Academia Nut?

Yeah. If it were being distributed to families of victims, I'd say send the Wealth, no question, but there's no point dropping salt into a hole or burning it. Except for the pretty colors if you burn it.
Admittedly, pretty colors are worthwhile in their own right, but that's neither here nor there.

Also, apparently the Nomads think that we're bipolar.

[X] [Secondary] Change Policy - Megaproject Support

So, we have 6 art, which means we can complete up to 6 actions hypothetically.

Some of the province action will be expand econ, but they should do at least one megaproject action, which will proc symphony and the Law.

Found Colony - When a province gets too distant, sometimes it is best to grant it additional autonomy so that they can get down to the business of working the land and gathering resources without needing to talk to the king about every little thing. Current Target: Greenshore
*S: Change Greenshore Trading Post to a Colony
*M: 4 Econ Transfer, -2 Martial, founds colony to produce raw resources

Found March - Sometimes you need an extra buffer between you and hostile powers, or a place to stash excess warriors. Current Target: None
*M: -5 Martial, 2 Econ transfer, founds march to take independent martial actions
Some edits to our actions.

M'kay I am going to suggest this.

What do you folks think?

Yes, but I don't want to get caught with our pants down if some other disaster strikes and Megaproject is rough on the stats, both in terms of actual stats spent and in terms of opportunity cost.
It's only hard on stats because it puts in a lot of effort, though. If we want to build the Palace slowly, then sure, don't put the policy on it. But since we're dealing with a tax crisis, I don't recommend going slowly.

With the war on hold, the Palace is hands-down our highest priority. Our regular actions should be enough to fight fires.

Can't Stop Cats
Can't Stop Cats

"Tyanthyn, what in Crow's name is that?"

You sighed as you set yourself across from your old friend, a small smile tugging at your mouth at your friend's expression of bafflement. Where it any other situation than the one you found yourself in you would likely be quite eager to tease him for losing his normal stoic facade.

"It's a cat."

Cyril looked distinctly unamused at your short response. "Yes, Tyanthyn, I can plainly see that. What I'm wondering is why it is here, and why it seems to be following you around." Even as he spoke, the furry little creature lept onto the table, sitting primly and staring at your friend with those strangely intent eyes.

You shrug. "Well, I imagine your second question is the answer to your first. As to why the little beast has taken to following me around, well, that story is both short and boring. Suffice it to say, mistakes were made on both sides, food was exchanged as an offering of apology, and now the creature has apparently 'adopted' me. Silver lining, no more rats running underfoot."

Cyril stared at you for a moment longer, before sighing and rubbing his temples. "Ok, so you fed the little guy, and he took to following you around. Just one question." Cyril gestures to his side, and you turn to see the endless expanse of water. "Why did you decide to bring him with you?!"

You rub your neck, a sheepish grin on your face. "Well, I didn't exactly plan to bring him, per se. I actually thought I'd left him behind, I even went so far as to distract him with a little food as I was leaving, so he wouldn't follow me. I boarded the ship, and I was certain I lost the little fellow. I even felt a bit sad as we set out." You pat the cat's head, his figure almost radiating amusement. You suspected he found the whole situation funny. "Then I heard a familiar sound, and there he was, calm as could be. I still have no clue how he knew which ship I would be on, nor how he managed to board without a single person noticing, but here he is."

Cyril stares at the cat for a long moment. The cat gives him no mind as he begins to clean himself. Finally, Cyril sighs again. "You at least cleared it with the crew, right? I'm not going to find myself tossed overboard because this rascal is stealing food, right?"

You shake your head. "No, it seems things like this happens occasionally. The little guys tend to kill any pests that are on board, and are pretty clean themselves, so nobody really minds when they stow away. Some sailors even think they are good luck."

"Of course they do." Cyril reaches out tentatively to pat the cat, but is forced to draw back his hand as the cat hisses. "Wha--"

You shrug again, continuing your petting of the creature. "He's pretty picky about who he let's touch him. Don't take it too personally."

The cat gives Cyril one last look, one you'd almost call smug, before giving you one last nudge with his head and running off to do whatever cats do.

Note: Was wondering what the first few people who brought cats over must have been like. Then I realized that it probably was the cats decision a lot of the time, not the persons. :V

No, they won't spend us below 4 econ, right?

Keep in mind that balanced always wastes an action too; we never get a main doubled by Law in balanced, but always do in megasupport.
Not always true. In fact, I suspect if we use megaproject support this turn and don't Expand Econ (or main windmills), we'll see a secondary doubled and the extra action spent on Expand Economy.

More specifically:
Provinces prefer secondaries on Balanced.
Provinces always prefer doubling secondaries. It's just Megaproject Support usually doesn't leave a secondary around to double.

Then come up with a plan that gets us more Stab. We're going to be at -1 after this, meaning that anything could break us.

Secondary PG won't boost Stability, whereas secondary RO might be as good as main if we're lucky. Better to swap around the secondary and main.

"This is filthy lucre, let's get rid of it... the priest should know of a good way. Sacrifice it to some god of the deeps perhaps?"
Could we instead offer the wealth to the families of the bereaved? Given our emphasis on sharing resources a formal "We fucked up" alongside a grand gesture seems like it'd go a long way to mitigating the impact.

It works out, uses up four Econ and has our Provinces expand Econ. No chance of breaking and not doing ourselves means it only gets done once instead of twice.
Provinces don't spend below 1, and take costs into account first. We're at 5-2=3, and double-main costs 2 to bring us to 1. Provinces won't spend anything.

Plus, we still don't have proof that government+province is what triggers symphony- I'd have to look more but I think we even have evidence against it.

You CAN'T take a secondary megaproject actiom though... it's not even an option.

Please look. Noone has been able to cite that evidence, and we KNOW that mercenary plus main triggers Symphony.
