I hope to Crow that the Thread has learned it's lesson with the Tax and the Law and the Occupational decision now to take it slow for Heaven's sake and ask some dang questions of AN what our advisors think IC![X] [Prog] Build Glassworks (-1 Econ, +2 Art, increased chance of new innovations)

RE: law reform: KEEP OFF FOR NOW. Ask any law student and they will tell you that changing the law is an utter shitshow.
The last time we pulled a law reform it dealt with taxes. We miraculously did not collapse as a civilization when we failed the reform due to a lack of literacy. What I meant id that the lawes concerning jurisdiction are adjusted so not everything is constantly carried to the King. And the Action itself would be like Restore Order. Fire and forget.
We weren't even hurt that badly... like at all reallyThe last time we pulled a law reform it dealt with taxes. We miraculously did not collapse as a civilization when we failed the reform due to a lack of literacy.
@Academia Nut Is the art patronage necessary to get the Dye workers to integrate the new alchemy dyes/fixatives in their work, instead of competing against them? Cause at first i read the update as "no matter what, the new dye is used and awesome, choose what else you get to add on to it", but now i'm thinking the choice between "art patronage" and "glassworks" is more "convince the dye workers to use the new dye/fixatives, then smooze up with them and the miners to have a strong power base to be safe and hopefully push to be king" vs "help the weak glassworkers and try to build them up as a new strong counter to the potters, as well as split off a new dye guild for these new dyes, to counter the traditional dye guilds, to build up a weaker but more loyal and new power base to be safe and hopefully push to be king". Is that accurate?
@Academia Nut How likely would it be that the People recognize the benefits of glassworks to deal with the new dye? As in, if we take Art Patronage now, would they be as careful with it as with Tailings?
Some players were sufficiently traumatized for it to be kinda immaterial.
Honestly the tax crisis was more fun and beneficial than harmfulSome players were sufficiently traumatized for it to be kinda immaterial.
I kinda distant myself when I saw the taxes as vote options for the pure and simply reason that I knew it would blow up .Some players were sufficiently traumatized for it to be kinda immaterial.
I was about a micrometer from dropping the quest at that point becuase of the sheer stupidity driving the arguments. Just...Honestly the tax crisis was more fun and beneficial than harmful
obviously this is only true for a handful of people since everyone seems to think it a frustrating venture of pure fail
I was about a micrometer from dropping the quest at that point becuase of the sheer stupidity driving the arguments. Just...
Fuck.
Yes, it was exactly One Fuck. No more and no less.
Not for me, I feed on salt, and that day I was powerful, more powerful than any of you can possible imagine!!I was about a micrometer from dropping the quest at that point becuase of the sheer stupidity driving the arguments. Just...
Fuck.
Yes, it was exactly One Fuck. No more and no less.
That's because while Taxes is One Fuck, Boats is Ten Fuck as it is the stupidest thing I've seen yet.Argument about BOATS is still topping my list of inane arguments over inconsequential things.
Uhuh...Not for me, I feed on salt, and that day I was powerful, more powerful than any of you can possible imagine!!
Ooh, sweet, thats a pleasant surprise So either way Rulwyna will be building up her power base with everyone, just a slightly different focus? No, most of these will advance alchemy/dying in some way, just what gets pushed along hardest will vary. It also changes up the narrative.
Yeah, i mean, even failing the crisis got us 2 extra value slots, which at least as of a while ago was very rare (iirc AN said most civs have fewer spiritual values, a focus on honor values, and almost no one would have 3 of each) and definitely valuable, considering its what let us get observance and thus love of wisdom... and i think the library was gated behind observance too?
It was.
You dare doubt me!?
*spritzes the Salty Penguin with a spray bottle*You dare doubt me!?
If I had the power I did that day I would smite you with pure unadulterated SALT.
Crow has granted me infinite salt power, you just caused an Ocean of Salt to be made!*spritzes the Salty Penguin with a spray bottle*
There now your Salt is all wet and soggy. What now?
yes but how likely is it that the winning vote would still end up above what were currently able to handle?Wouldn't we be able to execute the tax reform to a more complicated system now that we grown up in social organization?
Yeah no.Wouldn't we be able to execute the tax reform to a more complicated system now that we grown up in social organization?
