Only losing dominant, although there will be grumbles for other downward trends.
Hmm...

Ok, maybe this isn't as bad as I thought. +4 Diplo/turn is completely insane, and we're not that far from getting there. We'll need a much larger stability buffer though, and that's gonna be hard without GS.

@Academia Nut
If we [Main] an Extended Project, is that two separate econ refunds from the city or only one?

....So who's up for ALL the Salterns we can build? :lol
Me.

I'm also up for trying to get the best pottery we can, in order to store our wine well, though.

@Academia Nut Okay, but... how many salterns?

she's not old enough to be a hermaphrodite
someone has kinks

Edit:
With everything at max, they can use their dominant fine pottery advantage to not have to worry about losing their True City status and then do... things.
*laughs scaredly*

Martial overflow...

But she is strictly defined as a she in the update. Don't make stuff up dude.
I never said Fythhagyna herself was hermaphroditic. What I said was that plants were, and as a deity associated with plants she would also be associated with such effect. Sure, Gwy and Goya have a way stronger claim on Mysticism/Queerness as a portfolio, but it would still be within range of her domain.

When it comes to making stuff up, you are currently ahead of me. Ignoring the slight hyperbole regarding the gendering of plants.

There is no backing for this, especially as not all plants are hermaphroditic and the goddess herself is not and the QM stated only older gods become associated with that.

You talk about removing ourselves from this earth?

Then why do you want to make us reliant upon a goddess bound to it!

Your hypocrisy is foolish. It is Crow who drives innovation, it is Crow who will lead us from this earth into enlightenment, not a goddess bound to the earth, who draws her strength from others.

Being bound to her will make us slaves, make us forced to till the earth and only till the earth, to focus upon the ground, when we could fly amongst the sky.

Where no shadows exist.

If you stay stuck doing the harvest, then the Crows flying above the air will always cast their shadow down on you.

Of course you never pay proper attention!

I wish for all human to work with the Spirits not forever under their guidance. We are fostered by the world but we will eventually out grow this earth, and we will lift ourself from our own strength not reliant on Spirit's strength.

Reading comprehension, do you understand it? For a student of questions, you jump awfully quick to conclusions.

Slavery? Where did you learn to sprout such despicable lies? Have you be gotten by the enemy?

Do you think the humans will forever be unable to walk alongside Spirits? If so, then you don't even understand Crow.

So maybe saltern after Temple.

I don't suppose 'megaproject support' policy is flexible enough to help with extended projects @Academia Nut?

The main problem I see is that we just lost our only reliable way to restore our stability.
There also wasn't any reliable way of picking it back up. The people we were stealing it from evolved it. My whole point was that we should have any issues maintaining our trade monopolies. They are geographically and technologically limited, so others really can't produce what we can, and so long as we put a little into them it shouldn't be an issue for a good while.

If I am getting this right: The fastest way to get a diplomacy bonus is to dominate the dye trade with a main action.

Then, we build a saltern in Southshore, which will gives us an extra diplomacy per turn.

That mean 2+ from saltern, 1+ bonus for domination of salt, 1+ bonus for domination of dye, giving us 4+ diplomacy every turn. Youch!

If we do establish a trading post with the Metal Worker, we'll get 5+ diplomacy income. That's truly insane.

Who wants to discuss the XS pulling our exact same plan, while under the auspices of a martially inclined overlord?

We need to start trading with them so that we can sow the seeds of sedition.

A: Oh yes, quote Word of God from after I made my post, that's certainly something I should've taken into account back then.

B: Fythhagyna is a goddess of plant growing, growing plants is a part of Mysticism. This is not a hard leap. And gods can share portfolios, just look at the Norse Pantheon were Odin Thor, Tyr and Freya (and probably others I've forgotten) all were gods of war.

I think we need both salterns built to get a +2 saltern bonus. But one saltern is enough to get "dominating" trade good status.

Crow teaches you wisdom, once you are wise, once we understand Crow we will no longer become reliant on the Spirits, as we would be reliant upon the goddess.

Slavery you ask? Yes slavery, if we are kept from knowledge we will be enslaved by our ignorance in the dirt of the fields your goddess needs us to fill. If she is to choose between letting us explore the world and keeping us to till her fields, which will she choose?

Crow is unknowable, but he had shown to be trying to teach us wisdom. It is wisdom that will set us free.

I have been the one saying that Crow will show us how to walk alongside the spirits and gods as equals. Does your goddess offer that? No! Your goddess is content to have us till her fields. Crow wants something we do not know. But it is more than living a life as a farmer

They would still have to punch through the other lowland players before getting to us. Even if they manage it their hero will be dead by the time that happens and their martial strength dented.

[Next] Change Policy - Trade

I am pretty serious here.
Counter proposal. Establish Trade Post.

Or we could put a secondary into salterns, let a province put a secondary into salterns while on Balanced, and get the Symphony bonus for the last bit, and not turn off our econ production during our most expensive project yet.
That would work too, though you do realize we only need to put in one secondary, right? If they put in as much as one secondary, symphony would finish it.

This all depends on where our stability is, though.
