Main Restore Order, Secondary War Mission, Change Policy - Megaproject Support
@Academia Nut If we stop doing the megaproject but switch to megaproject support the same turn will the provinces do it in our place?

Also, can I counter you with:
Main Megaproject, Secondary War Mission, Change Policy - Restoration? Might get us to 3 stability, which our maxed out diplo, art, and possibly martial might turn into a golden age. Lol nvm diplo will b crashed to 9 + 1 = 10; art will be -1 so @ 13. Still, we'd be able to switch it around soon enough.

[X] Attempt to capture the errant warriors and then make amends with the Highlanders (-5 Diplomacy, probable war with Highlanders)

Court Martial on them, them we need to build the games ASAP after the temple, let the warriors cool down, or send them on sea expeditions.

If there's still war, then our provinces will likely send a war mission or 2 (as our policy is balanced right now), so we could feasibly continue the Temple and do a [main] restore order.

I like this. Gives us a free switch soon, and provides a minor amount of guaranteed war support.

It is kissing goodbye to our true city, but if we're at war, I'm fine with that.

I'm torn - I would like for the People to be more militarily active but I'd prefer to be against the nomads or the TS. The Highland Kingdom have been good allies to us, and we even have kin among them. However, I don't want to just roll over and take it - that will only straighten the belief of the People being weak. Furthermore, I don't really want them to take the iron weapons from those warriors and learn that the People have such weapons. It's our trump card and should be kept secret for now:

Lastly, if they declare war on us and lose that will prove a) the People are not weak and b) allow for a full annexation. The main fear is that the Thunder Horses will continue to expand over the lowlands. If the HK gets the People as guardians and stays as a semi-independent state while becoming more fully integrated later - that would be the best for all involved.

They just need to see and accept that the People are stronger than them.

On the surface that seems like a good idea, better than mine, but I worry that our provinces won't willingly choose to do Restore Order. Oligarchs are not known for fighting corruption, the snake may be one of them or among them, and the provinces don't have the authority to enforce order across the kingdom with their warriors.

It's basically confirmed yes, but I think that having 3 available actions from the provinces helping is worth more than having 1 extra available action ourselves.
Normal: 2 action Megaproject, 2 actions free, provinces have 3-4 actions free (likely Expand Economy, so likely 3)
Support: 1 action switch, 3 actions free, provinces have 0 actions free.

And given the currently leading vote, I'm going to be voting next turn
[] Megaproject
[] Establish March

I'll be honest and say that I don't know how much this event can be considered to point toward corruption rather than toward low centralization and negligence.

The possibility of a "snake" would seem to point that way, I guess, but I'd rather just bring up stability and then later do an Enforce Law. The former would decrease people's desire to be overtly corrupt, the latter would harm the methods by which most corrupt people gain power.

Admittedly, I'm also just afraid that a) we'll get another stability drop and thus be taken to 3 by RoO temporarily and b) that we wouldn't actually be able to continue the megaproject.

@notgreat * embarassing mfg IIRC it's confirmed that if we have megaproject support active already and then stop doing the megaproject the provinces will do it. It's not clear whether the provinces will do it if we drop it and turn on the policy the same turn.

But I find your plan agreeable. Establishing the March after we discover whether they'll go to war with us or not would to some degree permit us to do an RoO the next turn w/o fear of great repercussions, and free provinces work more effectively, imo. Downside is that doing RoO right when we have the most evidence is a better choice...

[X] Massively reinforce position (-5 Military, founds new March, war with Highlanders)

Probably not. In ~75% of cases we'll now be in the same position as before (war) but without a march helping, and minus 5 diplomacy that would normally be overflowing into our other stats.
But we'll have sussed out our traitor (hopefully), and we'll be fighting a war where we're not the clear aggressor, which is probably better for our culture.

I think the problem is the first sin pride. We have been told many times that other people see us as weak both by our traits and the OP. While we known we are not thanks the advance weapen material ie. Iron. So at lot might whant to flex our muscles

Welp. This is about as far as I'm willing to go to attempt peace. My ideal scenario is they decide to spit in our face, at which point we can ream them out with a healthy conscience. But I do not want to play the asshole card.

I won't exactly be sad if war wins, just hope it doesn't hurt our social values too much. (Hopefully double standards apply for foreigners). I'm very concerned about the March option, I worry we'll take a prestige hit and lose control of a March that had knowledge of ironworking and our other military techs.

I don't think trying to find out if there was a puppetmaster here is worthwhile- a repeat incident seems unlikely.

Now most countries would and have used pretexts like this to wage wars and some may have even been successful but that isn't the Ymaryn way we end fights not start them. #MakeSaltNotWar #NotMyYmaryn

Do the Ymaryn have sports? If so, what are they?
I imagine we don't have formalized sports at present, only training games for warriors to exercise without getting bored

@Academia Nut did mention that on Balanced policy the provinces will take an appropriate number of war missions against minor raids when attacked.

Not sure if it'd be informed that they will take care of it though. They make their choices after we do, so if we choose to stay on Balanced and take a Main Restore Order(which really is very appropriate after that shitstorm), they'd take a Secondary, or even a Main War Mission.

The main issue with a HK war is not the war missions themselves, but that the HK won't stop harassing us and making themselves weaker in the process.

On the other hand, most of the practical factors on their side says they should accept the payment. They are already dug into a war with a superior foe and stated that they would prefer not to have to fight us at the same time last turn.

So it depends on their traits there. Do they have a vengeance trait? If yes, they'd keep going. If no they'd take the deal.
