[X] Challenge belief (Begins event chain)
[X] [Main] Grand Sacrifice
[X] [Secondary] Expand Forest - Stallion Tribes
[X] [Secondary] Change Policy - Defense

This is the correct response. We will wall the shit out of everything. Raise our stability, forest and wall, then we can afford to tall up on wonders again.

Policy Restoration is especially important if we decide to Challenge Belief, since that way we will be able to recover any further stability hits that event chain causes without needing to spend our controllable actions. It's also a nice policy because it will automatically switch off once we are at maximum stability.

@Academia Nut
If we do double-main Restore Order (via province actions/The Law doubling) will the two -1s be applied separately or at the same time?

No chance I vote for it either way. I'm not interested in a 1/256 chance of dying for no reason other than unnecessary efficiency. Just roll a Grand Sac too. We have the econ for it since people went Tools last time.

We also need Martial. Walls aren't enough without warriors, and we're down to 5; notably lower than when we started this multigenerational conflict.

Also, until TH breaks apart we need a significant standing reserve. They're a major threat if they decide to force us into their federation.

Don't like challenge belief as that will open up all kinds of good and bad issues. On the other hand, careless use of metallic stuff would create problems too.

[X] [Main] Grand Sacrifice
[X] [Secondary] Expand Forest - Stallion Tribes
[X] [Secondary] Black Soil

Need to push our stability and economy back to stratosphere again.

The provinces would handle the warrior rising or Nomad problem for now.

Gains 4 econ, 1-3 Centralization, 0-1 stability.

Possible province actions:
[Main] Grand Sacrifice x2
[Main] Restore Order
Cost: 6 econ, Gain: ~5 Stability
This instantly fixes our stability problem, getting us to +3. Holy cow. That's ridiculous.

Our stability is in dire conditions. Let's fix that instantly with Restoration, and then we get a free policy switch afterwards. Challenging the belief is likely to cost stability so it might take 2 turns, but that means that our next turn's real actions are open for us while the provinces do more Stability.

The point is that we don't know what actions the provinces will be taking so I wanted to improve my model of both them and how the system as a whole works.

And if you seriously think a 0.3% chance is too high to risk anything...

Changing vote. Because Im' really not comfortable with charging into another destabilizing thing after the experience with the fucking Taxes.

Let's the North do defense and the South econ raising actions. At least one provinces shall expand warriors or chariots since that's now a trait of ours to always have a standing army.

Why not either policy - restoration or leave it as is for more warriors?

Have to wonder why people feel restoring our military soon is worth less than walls right now. Either the martial help us exploit the TS when they're weakened, or if they manage to break free and want to start shit. That, and iron almost certainly opened up a ton of military innovation it'd be better to have sooner or later.

As for losing Nobility in Humility... I liked the value but I like the thematics and narrative in losing it here. Gone are the peaceful and relatively self-possessed Ymaryn that lived and let live- replaced by a people bursting with righteous indignation, who took pride in fighting a monstrous foe.

It's not morally good or anything, but it would have been far more disappointing to not see our culture change and grow as a result of this trauma.

Spirit chief: is now a good time for people to think about weapon of gods?

Farm chief: are the northern provinces self sufficient? If not how can we accelerate that?

War chief: do we need more warriors to protect our settlements to a reasonable degree?

I hope the questions aren't too meta.

I really wish the bandwagon didn't fixate on challenging the belief. It ia guranteed to start an event chain. Are ya feelin lucky? Well do ya punk!?
We don't get many chances at this.

Walls help out alot better in that regard, they allow 10 to fight 100.

It would potentially be an additional distraction in these uncertain times.

The northern provinces are normally self sufficient, but the nomads did considerable damage and destroyed or carried off considerable amounts of food or depopulated farm lands that the people in the major settlements depended on.

More warriors are always welcome.

You might want to switch those around, like so:
[X] Challenge belief (Begins event chain)
[X] [Main] Grand Sacrifice
[X] [Secondary] Restoration of Order
[X] [Secondary] Restoration of Order x2
Since main GS is already winning the vote.
(Also, i agree, at least for now; while i'd like to switch to balanced, getting more military actions in would be nice, and probably help weapon tech development...)
Heads up, if that wasn't your original vote it's replaced your old one.
