Having gotten a better idea of how the map works I'd suggest moving on to setting up another March or the trading post option immediately after iron is done.

One gives us some some leeway against our numerous local foes.
The other currently improves diplo but will likely improve wealth once that exists, and also works on filling that giant void in the map and getting in touch with that rumored super rich kingdom in the bottom left.

The trade post we can put down on that dark green spot by the metal workers.

The Northeast March will go here:

Of note this map also indicates where the settlement is when Redhills expanded East.

Nope. No point in library if we are dead; and we have nomads to the north and not!Persians to the east exploding in size.
Nomads are going to be pruned by the Stallions now that they have permanent causus beli, which is nice, we'll have to chop them down every couple of turns instead of every other.

The Not!Persians I believe are currently undergoing a stressful trans-formative reaction. They will either start expanding, or implode. And weirdly they may also expand and then collapse suddenly.

I'm sad people aren't going for the stability :(

Don't forget Study Forest as well. As it is, we are pretty shit Dwelves since we have barely studied the forests. Perhaps we can focus on forest related things after we get the iron mine.
Stability comes with a debilitating belief that the thread categorically does not want.

Honestly, I'm more worried about Ignore triggering a bad Observance evolution, with a I Told You So, forcing us to always take note of things.

Well both Stockpile and Ignore have a high chance to proc a bad Observance trigger and/or evolution. The ignore one might have a slightly higher chance for a good evolution.

Generally shitty all around. Why I picked Star Mirror.

On the bright side, if a DOOM comet does come next turn it'll be the strongest evidence for low magic setting yet.

The Spirit Talkers managed to use the Observance Trait to predict the coming of the comet. The more likely explanation is sadly that our dear prophet saw/read something that convinced him of the comet's coming beforehand, which came out rather in a confused manner following his accident.

The only scientific way to predict comets is timing them. We haven't had a comet in centuries, and had our two almost back to back, so that's not possible. If he's predicting a comet, it's magic.

Edit: or rampant dice gods.

Mind you, this is technically conjecture. We do not have any confirmation that this would happen do we go for the Comet option.

It is not an unfounded assumption, but it is still an assumption.
True. It all revolves around if the DOOM Comet actually comes during the next mid turn. If it does both Stockpile and Ignore will cause nasty things, though the particular type of nasty varies. This is of course also dependent on something. We have confirmation from AN here, that the Stockpile is the Ymaryn's rulers going out and telling people which is how we get the Stability. If the Ignore option just has us care for him normally then the prophecy may not spread to the populace and the unrest has a lid on it. If this happens it means we may or may not proc something bad from Observance. If the Ignore option does not hide his prophecy then we will have issues if the DOOM Comet arrives.

Really strong circumstantial evidence since there is at least one alternative explanation. If it is low magic personally I see the difference as being immaterial since it seems like the big things are hard to pull off. Would change the world view quite a bit.

Really the sad thing about a low enough magic setting is that it is nearly impossible to prove it is a magic setting. See the modern world, we may have the supernatural but we can't prove it one way or the other and with absence of proof we must assume it is not real.

Nope. We had two back to back. That is unrelated to predicting the DOOM Comet. We recorded the DOOM in stories if you read the update and we probably forgot the Herald, the smaller comet of Bynwyn. He could well be thinking of that story of the DOOM and have seen something and then concluded on a lucky guess that it is coming. A lucky guess if it comes.
