We could also deliberately bury a library. And then make a giant hill over it. If we keep seeing civilizations dying out, the Ymaryn might have some thought about their own collective mortality.

Just imagine the look on archaeologists and historians face when the work of the Ymaryn wasn't lost after all.
I prefer the idea of creating a library and declaring it separate from the people. Like, to separate it from politics, and it has its own company of dedicated warrior-curators to protect it, loyal only to the knowledge held within. The great fortress library of the Ymaryn Mountains.
"Turn back, stranger. There is no treasure you can sell here, no plunder to be found."
"I come seeking the only true treasure."
"...Shed your weapons, and you may enter."

These are all cool thoughts, but the main purpose of the Library should be to not only store knowledge, but to ease the spread of it. Make it easier for the Shamans to teach our populace. That's a little hard to do if the damn thing is hidden away in the mountains far from the reach of the uninitiated.

The better built a building it is, the more attractive a target becomes. If and when conflict occurs in that area, all sides would want to get in due to it's defensiveness and able guards.

So it's better to put up multiple libraries after we have finished with the mega project one.

Economy cost of maintain and expansion will be huge drain sadly.

Some of our secrets are questions of national security, i don't want any enemy discovering black soil + forests...

That would be pretty tricky for them to do since they would have to first infiltrate our society, then get to the Library which I imagine will be in Vallyhome, then know how to read our language, then find the information, then get it out, and then successfully teach it.

All while we are the only people with any units even close to resembling spies.

I'm not that concerned about it. If they really wanted to know our secrets, they'd probably just try and kidnap some of our people and torture them for information or something. Much easier.

You are missing the entire point. It would be there for the sake of anthropology.
What you are referring to is for us to build Oxford, these are two different things.

No, I'm talking about a Library. A place where information is stored for ease of later access. You are talking about a vault. A cool idea, but a different one.

Though if the Library does lead into some sort of Copper Age University I'm gonna laugh so hard.

He did say that, but since then we've expanded holy sites to the point where we're maxed out on Mysticism.
Nah, we're at like 7% literacy atm.

Any suggestion where to locate the library, though?
It depends on if you mean like, a core library, branch libraries, and/or the annex.

The core library which stores all of the current most-accessed works should obviously be in Valleyhome, as this is our largest city. Branch libraries should be established in the capitols of each province, with larger ones at Redcoast and Stallionpen. The annex (i.e. long-term, low-access storage) should be in the mountains in the northern area of our territory, as that climate will likely provide the best long-term storage once we acquire paper.

Can you imagine if we actually founded a proto oxford now, we could potentially have a university with 4000 years of history in future.

I think the black soil production is already witnessed by traveling merchant trains. It's just they think it's a method of garbage disposal and not fertilizer.

As for forests, they would assume it's for ensuring we have enough wood due to our small but highly populated land.

Yeah. The knowledge should had spread by now. But why go through all the work when you have rich farmland already?

It's possible some of the more innovative merchants have thought about bring the practices to their land, but the idea of working in dangerous infectious garbage/crap pit turned off a lot of their people. High setup cost and distant return of investment are important factors too.

PANIC EVERYBODY PANIC!!!
Unless it is us who is supposed to be laughing because we kicked everybody's ass.
Nah so back to PANIC EVERYBODY PANIC!!!

Look, Alucard was the Protagonist guys. And so are we. Therefore, we are the ones who will be laughing evil! So everything is fine! Stop panicking!
