I don't think it's necessary for Hazo to explain to spider wife how exactly is he going to recreate the seals for study, especially to someone who doesn't have any expertise in sealing. Just mention his progress.

Also, not a good idea to be inviting our enemy to help save the world.

We also don't need to be at the Great Seal if they can apply the seals for us(with instructions). No need to risk Hazo's life and limb.

I can reword it? I don't think it sounds antagonistic but I can change some of it up. Do you have issues with any specific word choice?

Imo this is just expectations management so she knows how quickly we are making progress on study

  • Investigate potential jutsu for fine stonecraving.
    • Needs to meet these criteria:
      • Capable of working with any stones.
      • Faster than craving/chiseling/sculpting
      • Can do fine work.
    • If not possible, have Gaku draw up a list of sculptors that Hazo could learn from.

This ticks a lot of boxes as it stands. A few points, most of which apparently end in some variation of 'seems like a good idea'.
  1. Letting Kabuto know why the SSSSS is coming to Leaf (the Goketsu had to ally themselves with the SSSSS to pull off Isan) and that they hope that this does not result in friction between the Goketsu and Kabuto seems like it might be something good to call out.
  2. 'We would be interested in your feedback and/or Lord Orochimaru's feedback if it would not interfere with higher-priority projects' scans a little better to me than 'if it doesn't bug him'. Making it clear that we respect their priorities and that Kabuto's feedback is potentially valuable (who knows, maybe he bioseals) seems like a good idea, at least.
  3. I would try to calibrate with Kumokogo how many times her people can approach the Great Seal before they have a population crisis. I suspect Arachnids breed fast, but confirmation is a thing.
  4. We should brief them on how to tell if a seal is destroyed, ask them if they can track how many dragons are getting out, and advise as to the current duration of HOWS and when to expect us back with replacements/more if all goes according to plan.
  5. We really need to get Neji up there somehow. Can we negotiate a Shark to carry a Turtle over? Neji miiight be able to look at HOWS and see how much extra chakra we have kicking around, and if we're soaking it up.
  6. Maybe we should ease into the idea that we invited members of another Clan to her territory without asking her first. Enma probably wouldn't have said 'I'll get on this' if he thought it would be a problem, but minimizing social faux pas seems smart.
  7. It isn't clear to me that Kumokogo will have much input on 'here's how we're planning on studying the Great Seal' beyond 'alright, sounds like a plan, seal man'. Making it explicit that she's the greatest repository of Great Seal lore we have available and we're asking if she can provide literally any information seems smart. Also, maybe we should ask her if the Sage entrusted this responsibility to her personally or if this was handed down. If they met, that seems useful.
  8. I really like @RandomOTP's suggestion that we ask Noburi what direction he wants his training to go. Using the outcome of the vote to say 'we would recommend this, maybe?' seems sane, but asking the dude what he wants to do with his life seems like good practice.

All good points, I'll try to fit in where word count allows (first plan is basically doomed to not include a lot of that stuff, but we'll see).

Note though for 1, I'm not sure how much of that is OPSEC breaching so we may not be able to share that.

My (possibly incorrect) interpretation of plans that start 'OPSEC permitting' is that sections which would violate OPSEC are cut and Hazo does his best to patch over the cracks. 'Explain rationale behind Goketsu-SSSSS alliance and express desire to maintain/grow relationship with Kabuto' seems like something which could be excluded reasonably gracefully.

Assuming his reaction is not 'excellent, you brought my mortal enemies who have actually tried to have me assassinated a handful of times into the Leaf and you intend to adopt them, and make them citizens, I'll make sure this 'Great Seal' stuff goes riiight at the top of Orochimaru's inbox'.

Probably just paranoia, but we might want to make sure we're alone if we ask this. It sounds like the kind of thing that could accidentally put her in a difficult political position, for example if 'the spider queen has always been the spider queen and to imply that her predecessors existed is treason' or something.

Again, probably just paranoia, but it sounds like the kind of thing we'd mess up due to not having the context, and that Hazō wouldn't catch since he also doesn't have the context.

Updated first plan with most of FS's suggestions. Didn't fit in the Neji thing or the "how often can we sacrifice arachnids and hornets to the blood god"

(For the record, I didn't fit the Neji thing into the Kabuto plan either)

To be clear, these are prepared one-seal SINs, correct? Not implosion seals, which need to be activated to do damage (and which Arachnids don't know how to do)?

I was actually just checking it to decide that very thing. :p
Anything involving Kabuto or Orochimaru even tangentially is making me scream inside, but I accept the reasoning that we'll be catching their attention anyway with the SSSSS and it's better to at least try to get on their good side if we have to catch their attention anyway.

Worst case scenario, Hazou can place the HOWS the same way he viewed the Great Seal, and the Arachnids can test the efficacy of the Implosion seals on their own time. Giving another clan access to Seals what's the worst that could happen

He needs to stop his murder spree. We can address how/if to reprimand him later after the world is less on fire, but we need to at least tell him to chill in the meantime.

I do want to do this, I just wanted it to be its own scene...I'll see if I can fit it in

EDIT: Added to both of my plans, albeit offscreen.

Something I should remind you of: Keiko feels the need to train Alertness. It made a significant difference during the chakra beast hunts, and not in a good way.
