Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Nah, we are far more expressive and open that Jotaro....

...... I want to do this mostly because it makes us even more like a certain joestar character.....

Honestly at this point discovering we have been playing in a JoJo crossover would not be surprising.... Our boy is kind of ticking all the marks and our daughter.....

Well, ya know how stands sometimes partially manifest while young? Her genius could, in JoJo be partially attributed to that....

Imagine a mathematics based stand or the like....

.... Now I'm trying to picture what each of our stands would be....
Huh, trade-off there. Guaranteed to survive till the end of the world and be a genius heroic fighter, but also a cheating scumbag. Decisions, decisions.

Hmmm, making it all connected works as well. I'm sure this will make manny fans wonder about Spider-man's dating life and where does it fit canonically with the comics. So Kitty Pryde goes on to become an S-Men later on and actually become a member before the need to have her appear in X-Men: Evolution (I loved that show, and I'd be a bit sad if it was not made). I can dig this, hopefully her relationship with both Strom and Wolverine manages to translate into the show as well.
Well, part of my thing with the MCAU is that, when I give out a give a season synopsis I'm generally talking mostly about the big thematic arc of the season, which gives me leeway for smaller adventures and storylines throughout the season; in this case, this can be worked as a bottleneck episode where Peter reminisces about the good times, where the audience gets to see his life before he started dating Gwen, when it was just him and the boys...and that beautiful summer with his highschool sweetheart crush, Kitty Pryde.

Parted amicably enough, though Peter's sure that in another life they would have been good together...and tries not to think of what her dad did, before his life as Sandman. [EDIT: He didn't find out about that until much, much later.]
Antagonists:
  • Shocker: Herman Schultz
  • Sandman: Flint Marko/Walter Hardy
  • Loki (Secondary)
  • Green Goblin: Harry Osborn (Secondary)
Minor Characters:
  • Mary Jane
  • Kitty Pryde / Felicia Hardy
  • Avengers
If you don't mind, I'm thinking on making a Captain America animated series, but one that mostly focuses on his advnetures during WWII. I think there is enough material to work with for at least a couple of seasons before he's frozen in ice.
Hmmm...I think I can work with that, the flashback sequences being part of the backdoor pilot, which is fine for a limited series run.

No One Was In The Room (When It Happened): The Idea of an MCAU:
The Uncanny X-Men: [ Season 1 / Series Pilot (Episodes One / Two) ]
This isn't the final product, mostly just a draft, I just want to know what y'alls thoughts are on this as the Backdoor Pilot for the MCAU Avengers? Because depending on how this ends, pretty much sets up the main character arc for Tony in the show.

Also torn between having him be wholly innocent, with this being the fault of Emma Frost poking around in his head for the tech to control the direction of the narrative and Magneto's war to profit off both sides of the conflict, or whether not this is setup for Tony's role as one of the Illuminati (where this is the point of the Hellfire Club in the MCAU), and Emma's in on this:

In the midst of a star-studded charity gala at Stark Mansion, the atmosphere was filled with laughter and excitement. Tony Stark, the charismatic host and philanthropist, mingled with the guests, his charm and wit captivating everyone around him. Unbeknownst to the attendees, a dark presence loomed on the horizon. Magneto, the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants, had received credible information from his secret backer [again hinted at being Frost International] that Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, would be present at the gala. It was an opportunity too tempting to resist. With his Brotherhood by his side, Magneto devised a plan to strike directly at Stark and expose his alleged involvement in the creation of the Sentinels. Under the cover of darkness, the Brotherhood infiltrated Stark Mansion, utilizing their mutant abilities to bypass the mansion's sophisticated security systems. In a swift and calculated move, they captured Tony Stark, rendering him helpless before the astonished guests. The room fell into stunned silence as Magneto stepped forward, his voice resonating with authority.

"Tony Stark," Magneto's voice boomed, "today, the world shall learn the truth about your actions. You stand accused of aiding in the creation of the Sentinels, the very abominations that threaten our mutant brothers and sisters."

Tony's eyes widened in disbelief and fury. He vehemently denied the accusations, his voice filled with righteous anger. "I would never partake in such a vile project! These claims are not only baseless but an insult to my integrity and the principles I stand for."

Magneto's face twisted into a sly smile. "Oh, Tony, your denial does not absolve you. We have evidence that much of the inner workings of the Sentinels rely on proprietary Starktech. Your fingerprints are all over this."

As the tension in the room mounted, the Avengers burst onto the scene, responding to Tony's emergency signal. Iron Man's teammates, led by Captain America, stood in solidarity, ready to defend their comrade-in-arms.

A fierce battle ensued between the Brotherhood and the Avengers, the clash of powers and technology illuminating the night sky. The Avengers fought valiantly, determined to protect their friend and clear his name. The battle raged on, creating chaos and destruction within Stark Mansion.

Eventually, the combined might of the Avengers proved too much for the Brotherhood to handle. Magneto, recognizing the dire situation, made a strategic retreat, leaving Tony Stark in the hands of his allies.

As the dust settled, Tony stood amidst the ruins of his once-grand gala, his expression unreadable. Hawkeye, always perceptive, approached him cautiously, concern etched on his face.

"Tony, what happened back there? Are you alright?" Hawkeye asked, his voice filled with genuine worry.

Tony remained silent for a moment, his eyes burning with a mixture of anger and frustration. Finally, he spoke, his voice laced with subdued intensity. "I'm fine, Clint. But I won't forget what happened tonight. I won't let this slander tarnish my name. They'll pay for what they've done."

Hawkeye nodded, understanding the fire in Tony's eyes. He knew that his friend's determination would drive him to uncover the truth and seek justice. The incident had only fueled the unyielding resolve of Iron Man.

And so, as the night faded into dawn, Tony Stark silently plotted his next move, vowing to expose the truth behind the accusations and protect the legacy he had built. The battle against Magneto and the Brotherhood was far from over, and Iron Man would stop at nothing to clear his name and ensure that justice prevailed.

Tensions were running high in the wake of the incident at Stark Mansion. The Avengers, fueled by their desire to protect humanity and apprehend Magneto's Brotherhood, were on high alert. Meanwhile, the X-Men, a team of mutants dedicated to promoting peaceful coexistence, were determined to clear their name and prove their innocence. Unbeknownst to both teams, a miscommunication led to a series of events that would escalate into an unfortunate conflict. The X-Men, consisting of Cyclops, Wolverine, Beast, Storm, Iceman, and Ms. Marvel (Jean Grey), were tracking down a lead on Magneto's whereabouts. As they entered an abandoned warehouse, they were ambushed by a group of Avengers, who believed the X-Men to be allied with Magneto.

The clash erupted in a flurry of powers and fists as both teams fought with all their might. Cyclops and Iron Man exchanged powerful blasts of energy, their beams colliding in a brilliant display of light. Wolverine's adamantium claws clashed with Captain America's shield, the sound of metal reverberating through the air. Storm summoned winds and lightning, battling against Thor's mighty hammer, Mjolnir. Amidst the chaos, Ms. Marvel, Jean Grey, tried to telepathically communicate with the Avengers, seeking to resolve the misunderstanding. However, her attempts were met with resistance, as the Avengers were consumed by their belief that the X-Men were part of the Brotherhood, that any attempt to communicate otherwise was a ruse...and Ms. Marvel attempting to enter their minds without their consent only confirmed it for them.

As the battle raged on, the X-Men realized that their fight was not with the Avengers but against the miscommunication that had led to this conflict. They strategically disengaged from the brawl, focusing on defensive maneuvers and evasive actions rather than escalating the violence. Realizing the X-Men's unwillingness to continue the conflict, some of the Avengers paused, allowing a momentary lull in the fight. From the midst of the chaos, the voice of reason emerged. Captain America, with a fierce determination to seek the truth, commanded his team to stand down.

"We need to listen and understand before we pass judgment," Captain America stated firmly. "Let's give them a chance to explain themselves."

The X-Men, battered and bruised, took advantage of the momentary ceasefire to explain their true intentions. Cyclops stepped forward, his visor retracted, showing sincerity in his eyes.

"We are not allied with Magneto," Cyclops declared. "In fact, we were tracking him down to stop his dangerous plans. We are the X-Men, dedicated to protecting both mutants and humans alike."

The Avengers, now willing to listen, cautiously lowered their defenses.

After their unexpected clash, the combined forces of the X-Men and the Avengers managed to drive Magneto and his Brotherhood away, at least for the time being. The battle had taken its toll on both teams, but they found common ground in their shared goal to protect humanity and mutants alike.

As the dust settled and the adrenaline subsided, the X-Men and the Avengers gathered to assess the aftermath of the confrontation. It became evident that despite their differences, working together had proven effective. A grudging respect grew between the teams, and they agreed to maintain open lines of communication for future events that required their combined strength.

Before parting ways, Tony Stark, still plagued by the accusations made against him, found himself confronted once again, this time by Ms. Marvel. She sought him out, her expression determined, and her voice filled with conviction.

"Tony, we need to talk." Ms. Marvel's gaze bore into him, demanding answers. "There are still questions surrounding your involvement with the Sentinels. We can't ignore the evidence."

Tony, ever the master of deflecting uncomfortable inquiries, met her gaze with a calm but enigmatic smile. "Jean, I understand your concerns. Rest assured, the truth will come to light in due time. But for now, let's focus on the task at hand and ensure the safety of all."

She studied him intently, her suspicions not entirely allayed, but recognizing the futility of pushing further in that moment. Nodding reluctantly, she acquiesced, realizing that their immediate priority was dealing with the aftermath of the recent conflict. With a final nod and parting words of cautious agreement, the groups began to disperse, each going their separate ways. The X-Men and the Avengers, bound by circumstance and the weight of their responsibilities, left with a newfound understanding of the complexities of their world.

As Tony watched Ms. Marvel depart, his gaze lingered for a moment before he turned his attention to the future. The accusations continued to gnaw at him, but he knew that a strategic approach was necessary. He would diligently work behind the scenes, uncovering the truth and clearing his name, all while maintaining the facade of composure and deflecting further inquiries.

I'm partial to number 1 or 2 personally.

Marketing Talk: Shelf Life
Well, before I return to trying to continuing my episode writing of Spellbound Season 1, here is a short omake I wanted to make in order to bring more attention to another animated pitch I made.

Marketing Talk: Shelf Life

It had been a rather routine day in the offices of Lucasfims Unlimited, which usually for Bruce consisted on checking on some department or being too busy with a project that he was working on for the day before going back to his family.

Usually he wouldn't come to Mike if he didn't have an idea. Fortunately he had something on his mind and he needed some advice.

"So what can I help you with, Bruce?" Mike asked.

"Okay, Mike, so I was going over a cute little idea that I had a while back. I just wrote it in its conceptual phase. Here." he gave a singular piece of paper.

Mike looked at it for a bit and raised an eyebrow. "An animated talking squirrel teaching languages?"

Bruce affirmed. "Yeah. The idea came a little bit before Sarah and Joseph were born. I love learning languages and thought Mary should learn to speak in more ways than one. The same goes now for the twins."

"I still don't fully get it." Mike stated bluntly.

"Well, my idea was that when we finally have our TV station, this could be a morning show that would be for children and parents alike to teach them new languages, starting from the level of a toddler up until a high school graduate. I mean, this is America after all. The country is filled with a wide and diverse population of immegrants from around the world, so being able to speak to one another with more than just English could really help bring people together better."

As Bruce finished explaining, Mike raised raised an eyebrow.

"You do realise that it's going to be a nightmare to do reruns, right? From what I understand by what you wrote here, each day teaches a different language and there is always an advancement every week. If it does become popular, how are people supposed to get into the show if they don't watch from day one?"

Bruce looked like he was deep in thought for a few moments before answering. "Yeah, that's why I wanted to consult with you. I thought of having this content be heavily reliant on the VHS format. Or at least it would have to be."

Mike himself seemed like he was thinking for a few seconds before his eyes widened. "Okay... I think I get the idea. It could work, but first the show would have to be a success."

"What do you have in mind?" Bruce asked.

"You're right that this linguistic squirrel format would be heavily reliant on VHS and future data storage technology, or however the tech guys call it. If the show is successful, we could have an entire shelf just dedicated to this thing. Think about it, we could make tapes that are each dedicated to a singular language and will be seperated by levels of difficulty. We have nursery schools, kindergardens, elementary schools according to grades, middle schools, junior highs and highschools. Each in a different language."

After hearing Mike's now more hopeful explanation, Bruce nodded. "So selling them in different languages would also help with when you want to start learning what language in order to not be overwhelmed, right?" he asked.

"It's more than that, it's basically a way to give ourselves every demographic in the country. Let me give you an example. You know those anti-immegrant groups who only believe in white America? Well, they'll have the choice to only buy the tapes that teach English, which would not only help give them a better grasp of the language, which I assume is one of your intentions, but would also satisfy them that they aren't forced to learn a language they don't want to learn." Mike kept explaining.

"But it would make America a better place if they just took their time to learn another language." Bruce said with a grimace.

"Yeah, sure, try telling them that. Now, I see a lot of potential profit from this idea, but if we make this show, the squirrel has to look cute. But I want it to look more like what people think when Disney does it. You could have a DreamWork flair to it, but I don't want it to look too Japanese. Don't want people to complain about another "Japanese Invasion" or some shit like that again." Mike stated.

"You know I don't work for you, right?" Bruce said flatly.

The next few minutes was passed by the two laughing out loud, much to the confusion of many employees passing by the door of Mike Eisner's office.

So there it is. I want to promote A-Jay the Linguistic Squirrel since the idea of how it could work relying on VHS and DVD in the future. What do you all think?

Edit: Gave this omake a title!:)

Any relation to the game of the same name coming out on Steam in two weeks?

I played the demo for it. Pretty good. While brutally realistic RTS isn't usually my thing I had enough fun to give it a try. It is kinda nice to way the consequences of getting in fights versus stealth. Because while a fight might be easier it will use up your limited ammo, especially if you have all of your 10 man squad firing. And one of your guys might get shot, which might kill him or send him to hang out in your hospital car for a while as your doctors heal him up while using your valuable medical supplies. It lead to me using stealth a lot, which becomes a lot easier if you get a scout to level 3 and get the camouflage ability.

Turns out I become a stickler for logistics if a game gives me the option of managing the war economy.

Sorry, wasn't trying to, just wanted to share it.

Thank you for the points though, wasn't expecting to get any.

Thank you!

Two is nice, but One seems like it'll give the Soviets the most amount of trouble, so...One.

[X]The Last Train Home: The Legion story has increased in popularity in the last few years. And now its is being told again... in an anti-soviet fashion.

HERE HERE!

You know what I just realized? Since we hold the rights to Marvel, technically we're getting royalties from CBS for 1978's Lou Ferrigno Hulk series...not only have we got ourselves an amazing source of income, but we get to pull yet another one over CBS.

Do we get royalties form the cartoons as well? I think they still show the reruns for them.

[X]Macross, Gundam... Giant Robots are Cool (a Great increase in Macross and Pacific Rims Quality)
I'll just go with this. Honestly, not totally satisfied with this decision, but the paranoia is getting to me and I kind of just need to pick something at this point.

I'd think so...oh, and the Toei Spider-Man series! That only ended last year!

Another act of spite for the win!
We're angry at Toho not Toei. BTW I was studying the Toho company out of curiosity and out of a desire to know our enemy, then I came across this ownership sructure of Toho and their holding group and I gave up. Like I severly underestimated their size.

...Me not big brainsed enough for dis.
So what I'm seeing is monopoly central, which means...well, a subterfuge action and a talk with the ambassador about trustbusting.

In regards to subterfuge, did you know that Toriyama based Frieza on how he viewed the Japanese Realtors as being servants for the worst kind of evil? 'nother reason to get Dragonball right there.

More specifically, Toriyama based Frieza on Japanese Realtors during the Economic Bubble.

@Magoose I have had an idea for an investment that while it is not going to give us basically any profit, it will be to be pretty funny... Can you tell me if this is possible and how much money we would need to invest to get it done?

[] Bruce O'Brian's Glorius Gallery of Bootleg Films: After Robin brought home the suggestively titled "The Tramps And The Planet War" to watch after your weekly DnD session you got an idea so stupid that everyone laughed their asses off and beg you to actually bring it to fruition... So that is how this museum was conceived, which will be dedicated to immortalizing the awfully hilarious string of knockoffs and rip-offs from Hollywood movies that have been produced throughout the whole world, including masterpieces like the Russian Winnie the Pooh, The Korean King Kong, The Turkish James Bond and so forth... The exposition will not only include all the merchandising acquired (mostly through smugglers), the film itself via VHS or film reels, and the info about the film itself and the movie it imitates... The best part is that with every ticket is included a pass to see one of these bootlegs in a small Cineplex under the museum (the films rotate regularly)

By the way, I am terrible at naming things, so any suggestion in that regard for the name of this "Museum" would be welcome...

I love this idea and endorse it utterly.

Also anyone else thinking of Mystery Science Theatre 2000 here?

Because I like to imagine this museum being the inspiration there. Also we should totally pitch mystery science theatre.

This would be fairly simple to make and hilarious
