Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

You've done more than enough to help. It definitely does, thanks a ton :D

Most of the heavy metal bands are going to be British, hence the 80s is called the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) and this will be the decade where creativity and artistry will reach a peak as many bands keep pushing to define the genre and make their own stamps on it.

Many of the staple subgenres such as Thrash, Power Metal, Speed, Black, Doom, Death, Symphonic and urgh, even Hair Metal started and defined themselves in this age.

You're going to be in luck because the whole decade is going to be the Golden Age of Metal.

Instead of going for the typical avengers lineup let's get creative and fresh. Luke Cage, Valkyrie, Daredevil, Spider Woman, and Shang Chi.

Luke Cage, Valkyrie, Daredevil, Spider Woman, and Shang Chi.
Problem is the general public does not know them. Heck I'm an internet nerd who half-follows comic book's and even I don't know half of the people you named. So lets start with some more well known people before we start with the more obscure hero's.

I've already put pitches for Luke Cage and Daredevil, and my idea is to have them come one after another, with each show's last episode linking to the new one. Thus, Luke Cage's last episode has Matt Murdock make an appearance, and Daredevil's has Iron Fist, etc.

Valkyrie and Spider-Woman...I'm not sure about that, I mean, at the moment there's no that much lore for them. Shang Chi might just be the same as Iron Fist in martial arts. I'm thinking perhaps Moon Knight for a fourth TV Show, though I'm not sure what it would be about.

@Magoose, I've got a couple of questions. First, whatever happened with Sam Raimi and Evil Dead? It seems like you might have forgotten about it because back on page 715 you said that it would be next turn. Second, you never answered this question I had here.
So @Magoose, correct me if I'm wrong. The first is saying that they'd both see large increases in quality, but the second is a smaller increase in exchange for Tomino doing something?
Last question, what would I need to get done in order to try and get my writer character omake and pitches, Mavis, as part of the Writers Room like Dave Alistair was?

Last last question, how's your day been man? Hope everything's been going well?

Regardless, Bruce IS playing Daredevil right? I mean, that's perfect casting. It's literally a role he was born for.

TV Pitch: Stephen King's The Dead Zone
Continuing with the list of Stephen King's works, at this moment Lorimar Film Entertainment should still have the rights for the movie (which they got the very same year it was published) which means that soon enough Dino De Laurentiis will get the rights for the OTL movie, which I think he should be allowed to do since it's an amazing movie in and of itself, and I don't think we would be able to do any better there. We can however, if we can get the rights for a TV adaptation, create one of the best TV series some 20 years earlier, and perhaps make it have more relevance than what it was in the 2000's.

The Dead Zone as a TV show was amazing since it expanded on John Smith's story, it followed the rules set by the universe, and at the same time gave an explanation as to why things were different from the book using the "dead zone" as well. I loves the show mostly because of the entire set up of John having to deal with his powers, losing his previous life and having to rebuild it, while at the same time helping those he can with his powers. And behind it all there's the shadow of what may come; the possible apocalypse because of Greg Stillson, who was not killed by John Smith this time around.

I think this show can be one of our best, and the actors chosen are a mix of both memorable, established and newcomers that can help us bring it to the highest ratings possible. I believe we should begin this show after we have our own TV channel so that it becomes one of our flagships.

Thus, I give you:

TV Pitch:
Stephen King's The Dead Zone

GENRE: Drama/Thriller/Mystery

SUBGENRE: Suspense/Action/Science Fiction

FORMAT: TV Show

Set Up: Based on characters from Stephen King's 1979 novel of the same name. The TV Show follows John Smith, a small-town teacher who is involved in a car accident that leaves him comatose for about six years. After regaining consciousness, John begins having visions of the past and future triggered by touching items or people; doctors attribute the visions to activity in a previously unused "dead zone" of his brain that is attempting to compensate for the impaired function of the portions injured in the accident. John also learns that his fiancée, Sarah, gave birth to his son in the interim following the accident, but has since married another man.

With the help of Sarah, her husband (and town sheriff) Walt Bannerman, and physical therapist Bruce, John begins using his abilities to help solve crimes. His attempts to do good, though, are complicated by intermittent visions of apocalyptic events brought about following the future election of congressional candidate Greg Stillson.

Showrunner: Michael Piller
Composer: Velton Ray Bunch

John Smith: He is a retired schoolteacher who, as a result of a car accident, has developed psychic abilities. An encounter with a carnival trickster in the first episode (before the car accident) makes it clear John already has some psychic abilities, but after the coma, their nature changes from intuition to visions, the latter requiring urgent action, even when personally inconvenient, whereas earlier, John only uses his ability on a carnival trickster to amuse his fiancée Sarah.

Played By: Richard Dean Anderson
Alternate: Corbin Bernsen

Sarah Bracknell Bannerman: She is John's former fiancée and the mother of his son, J.J. Sarah married Walt Bannerman during John's coma, and the two are raising J.J. together. Sarah knew John when they were children, and later taught at the same school as he did. They remained friends even after he woke from the coma, keeping J.J.'s parentage a secret. She will eventually give birth to Walt's child, whom she will name "Hope".

Played By: Cheryl Ladd
Alternate: Barbara Crampton

Sheriff Walt Bannerman: He is Sarah's husband, and initially has a very rocky relationship with John, who often feels that Walt stole Sarah from him. Since then, as John displays his powers more and more often in law enforcement situations, John becomes an asset to Walt, and the two become friends. Walt is killed in a fire at the Faith Heritage Chapel in the future, though he will continue to pop up throughout the season in visions and flashbacks, and even briefly as a ghost.

Played By: Tony Danza
Alternate: John Heard

Bruce Lewis: He is a physiotherapist who helps John regain his strength after his coma. Bruce is an open-minded spiritual person as a result of a religious upbringing by his pastor father. He is John's best friend and frequently his voice of reason, and may very well be the reason for his continuous interacting with the community and friends. Thus, with the absence of his guidance, John would have become unstable, deranged, and driven mad by his abilities.

Played By: Ernie Hudson
Alternate: Laurence Fishburne

Johnny "J.J." Bannerman: He is the biological son of John and Sarah. Sarah was pregnant when John had his accident, and she ultimately married Walt, who raised J.J. as his own son. Later on, both Walt and Sarah tell J.J. that John is his real father, and Johnny takes on more fatherly duties. Later on, John starts to believe that J.J. has inherited his powers, and in the future, J.J. has his first actual vision when he sees Armageddon in the pupil of his eye, sharing it within Johnny's eye during a scuffle with Greg Stillson.

Played By: Neil Patrick Harris
Alternate: Brice Beckham
Gregory Ammas Stillson: He's a mentally unstable politician who has taken many illegal steps to secure an election. Upon meeting with John Smith and shaking his hand, Smith can see that Stillson would clearly become responsible for an apocalyptic event that Johnny has seen in his visions and is thus trying to prevent.

Played By: John C. McGinley
Alternate: Jeffrey Combs

Rev. Gene Purdy: He is a religious leader and head of a prestigious university and foundations funded by Vera Smith, John's mother. John always speculated that Purdy's interest in Vera was for financial gain, but his powers allowed him to discover that Purdy had been in love with Vera for more than 35 years. Purdy has long been involved with somewhat shady dealings, but is always in the constant service of God.

Played By: Andy Griffith
Alternate: George Peppard

Deputy Roscoe: He is a deputy who works for Walt Bannerman. Roscoe is usually first on the scene and is very dependable. Though he does not have that much of an impact into the lives of those in the community, he still presents a relatable face, and manages to put people at ease just by being there.

Played By: Jeff Goldblum
Alternate: Dave Coulier
Dana Bride: She is a journalist for the Bangor Daily News. Dana covered much of John's early work, and later became romantically linked with him; she was also in a relationship with Gene Purdy. Because of her coverage of John, Dana was able to move on up to reporting for a Boston television station, choosing her career ambitions above her increasingly complex relationship with Johnny.

Played By: Annette O'Toole

Malcolm Janus: He is a power broker who believes that Greg Stillson is "destined for great things". His ultimate goal is to place Stillson in the White House. He also gave Reverend Purdy a global sphere of influence, in return for financial support of Stillson's campaigns. Janus is apparently a member of the Illuminati, as he wears a ring with their symbol.

Played By: Charles Dance

Christpher Wey: He is a man from the future who has been comatose since 1983. He wakes after the apocalypse to discover that he has a "dead zone" similar to John's, and that he can communicate with the present-day John when both are in contact with the head of his cane. Wey is revealed to be in league with a future John Smith and J.J.

Played By: Donald Sutherland

Rebecca Caldwell: She is child psychiatrist who met John during his investigation of the murder of her sister Rachel. She became John's girlfriend, and at one time, found out that Greg Stillson may have been responsible for her sister's murder and will be responsible for the upcoming apocalypse. She tried to assassinate Stillson, but was stopped by John and discovered that Stillson did not kill Rachel.

Played By: Pam Dawber

Alex Sinclair: She is a female psychic who discovered her "dead zone" when she was stung by a swarm of bees as a child and became hyperallergic to bee stings and products. John and her tracked down a sniper together, and both clearly have developed feelings for each other, but she decided that she is not ready to pursue the relationship.

Played By: Barbara Hershey

Anna Turner: She is the sheriff pro tem of Penobscot County, who took the position after the death of Walt; she investigated the final unofficial case of the recently deceased Sheriff. She clearly takes her job seriously, wanting to make sure that all the loose ties are tightened in order to respect the passing of its predecessor and make him proud.

Played By: Lynda Carter

A.N.: Most of the actors chosen will be ready to appear at around 1983, so the show can be made from that year forward. I don't know if we need to buy the rights from Dino De Laurentiis, or if perhaps Stephen King still retains the rights for TV shows. In either case, I think it would be a good idea to contact either of them by next year to see if we can get some sort of deal going on.

The season begins in Gwen's hospital room several months later, a brief flashback of the scene through Peter's tortured mind briefly recapping the absolute horror of the event. The hospital room was dimly lit, a stark contrast to the vibrant energy that once emanated from Gwen. Peter sat by her side, his hand gently clasping hers, seeking solace in the touch that still connected them. The steady beeping of the heart monitor echoed through the room, a constant reminder of the fragile line between life and death.

Peter's mind was a whirlwind of emotions. Guilt, regret, and sorrow consumed him as he replayed the events that had led them to this moment. The symbiote, once a source of power, now seemed like a curse—a dark force that had clouded his judgment and amplified his pain. He blamed himself for not seeing the signs, for not realizing the depths of Harry's torment until it was too late. The weight of responsibility pressed heavily on Peter's shoulders. He had always believed in the power of compassion and redemption, but in his confrontation with Harry, his own pain had overshadowed his ability to see reason. The symbiote had fueled his anger, feeding on his inner turmoil, and he had lashed out without considering the consequences. But above all he's...he's uncertain.

All he knows is that there may be a way be able to help him, and that's to get in contact with the hardest place in town to get reservations for: Avenger's Mansion. With them constantly being away on various missions across the globe (and possibly beyond, from what Johnny's told him), there's a decent chance that if he were to stop by then there would be nobody there to aid him...but he needed to try, because the best that he could figure was that this black suit was related to whatever nonsense Loki had been up to that day on the bridge...though, he acknowledged, that was a bit of a stretch, given that this more of an issue of correlation and not causation [as far as he was aware].

Elsewhere, and in the bustling world of special and practical effects, two talented artists found solace in their shared love for the craft. Quentin Beck and Phineas Mason, both passionate about creating illusions that captivated audiences, joined forces to establish their own studio. Together, they dreamed of crafting mind-bending spectacles that would leave their mark on the entertainment industry. Their studio flourished as they poured their hearts into their work, bringing their imagination to life on the big screen. But behind the scenes, the corporate powers from on high cast a looming shadow over their ambitions. The veiled hand of Global Studios, reached out to manipulate and control their business, as they disliked such flagrant acts of from would be competitors. Under the corporate interference, their creative freedom was stifled, and their vision diluted. The once-vibrant artistry was reduced to a mere puppet show, a means of maximizing profits rather than pushing the boundaries of what was possible. Quentin and Phineas fought against the tide, but their voices were drowned out by the relentless machinery of the industry. Tragically, an accident occurred during a grand production, one that could have been prevented if not for the interference and malicious negligence of the corporate forces. Phineas Mason, the brilliant mind behind the practical effects, lost his life in the chaos that ensued. The event shattered Quentin Beck's spirit, leaving behind a mix of grief and burning rage.

Consumed by sorrow and a thirst for revenge, Quentin vowed to unleash his fury upon those who had crushed their dream. He took on the persona of Mysterio, a master of deception and illusions, using his skills to manipulate perceptions and exact his vengeance. With each carefully orchestrated spectacle, Mysterio aimed to expose the corrupt underbelly of the entertainment industry, to reveal the puppeteers who had cost him his partner and his vision. As news of Mysterio's exploits spread, it caught the attention of Spider-Man, the ever-vigilant protector of New York City. Although Peter Parker sympathized with Quentin's plight, revealed through the release of a manifesto documenting the alleged and true crimes done unto him by Global, he couldn't condone the acts of open terrorism that Mysterio had unleashed upon LA. Spider-Man believed in upholding the law and protecting innocent lives, even if he understood the underlying motivation...and there wasn't much he could do about the matter, given that it was happening far outside New York City.

[Backdoor Pilot: Iron Man] Mysterio, fueled by a burning desire for revenge against Global Studios and its corporate allies, devised a diabolical plan to strike at the heart of Tony Stark, the genius behind the iron-clad suit. Infused with stolen Stark technologies, Quentin Beck embarked on a series of audacious acts that not only humiliated Tony but also put innocent lives at risk. As the master of illusions, Mysterio manipulated perceptions, turning the public against Tony Stark and tarnishing his reputation. With each meticulously orchestrated spectacle, he exposed the corporate machinations that had led to the demise of his dream, while simultaneously augmenting his own abilities with stolen Stark tech.

Meanwhile, a parallel narrative unfolded, delving into the intricate world of corporate dealings. Tony Stark, Emma Frost, and Norman Osborn, influential figures in their respective industries [Stark Industries, Frost International and Westman OsCorp Chemicals], had formed a symbiotic relationship, supporting each other through economic means. However, Tony's hidden plans to enter the clean energy market and become a direct competitor to Rand and Roxxon Industries bred resentment and mistrust. Emma Frost and Norman Osborn, feeling deceived by Tony's secrecy and sensing the shifting dynamics within their alliance, confronted him. They voiced their displeasure at being left in the dark, emphasizing that one should not hide among friends. The once-strong bond forged in the crucible of business now trembled under the weight of hidden agendas and personal ambitions.

As tensions simmered between the corporate titans and friends, Spider-Man and Iron Man collided in their pursuit of Mysterio. Spider-Man, burdened by the responsibility to protect the innocent, viewed Mysterio's actions as acts of open terrorism that threatened the city he swore to defend. Iron Man, haunted by his own demons and the revelations of corporate betrayal, sympathized with Mysterio's underlying motivations. The clash between Spider-Man and Iron Man became a battle not only against Mysterio but also against their own conflicting ideologies and loyalties. They grappled with the blurred lines between justice, revenge, and the complexities of corporate power.

In the heart of the conflict, as Spider-Man and Iron Man fought to unravel Mysterio's illusions and expose his true intentions, the webs of deception and corporate intrigue began to unravel. The crossover event between Spider-Man and Iron Man delves into the darker undercurrents of corporate power, friendship, and the price one pays for success. Against the backdrop of Mysterio's vendetta, the heroes navigate a treacherous landscape, full to the brim with ripe miscommunications, forced to confront their own flaws and make difficult choices that will shape their futures and the fate of the city they hold dear, with the both of them struggling to find a way to reconcile their sympathy for Quentin's loss with his responsibility to uphold justice. The conflict intensified as Mysterio's illusions grew more elaborate and dangerous, putting innocent lives at risk. In the midst of their battles, both physical and psychological, they glimpsed the broken man behind the mask, a twisted reflection of themselves.

The end of the two parter ends with Spider-Man finally getting Tony to listen to him, clearing up the misunderstanding that he was one of Loki's agents on account of his previous question regarding the suit that came at a very inopportune time...admittedly, Tony hadn't waited for him to clarify until them. In the Post-Credits, the damage done to OsCorp leads to Harry's escape from the hidden psychiatry office in the office building, Norman having stashed him away after the Bridge Incident.

As Peter learned of Harry's latest rampage, months had passed since the tragic accident that shattered his world. He had tirelessly searched for any trace of Harry, driven by a desperate need to find him and make amends for the events that had unfolded. Despite the sickly rage burning within him at the betrayal, Peter strived to be better, to honor Uncle Ben's teachings. Now lying broken in a dimly lit floor of a construction site across from Gwen's hospital, consumed by his thoughts, he noticed a flicker of movement that caught his attention. He turned his head, his heart skipping a beat as he saw a figure standing in the shadows—a man with disheveled hair and haunted eyes. It was Harry, a mere shell of the friend he once knew, the remnants of the Green Goblin persona still clinging to him.

What had happened to his friend to make him deteriorate like this?

"Harry," Peter whispered, his voice filled with a mixture of sorrow and desperation. "I didn't want any of this for you. I never wanted us to end up like this."

Harry's eyes darted around the room, his gaze unfocused and tormented. The serum's influence had left indelible scars on his mind, warping his thoughts and perceptions. He tightly gripped a glider in his hand, a chilling reminder of the weapon he had wielded against Peter in the past.

"You don't understand, Peter," Harry's voice trembled, tinged with anger and pain. "You betrayed me. You and my father, conspiring against me. I trusted you, and you turned your back on me."

Peter's heart ached at Harry's words, knowing the truth behind his father's actions and the web of deception that had entangled them all. He could see the depths of Harry's suffering, the torment that had driven him to this point. He desperately wanted to find a way to break through the darkness and confusion that consumed his friend.

"Harry, please, listen to me," Peter pleaded, his voice filled with earnestness. "I never wanted this for you. I would never conspire against you. We were friends, like brothers. We can find a way to help you, to free you from this darkness."

A flicker of recognition briefly illuminated Harry's eyes, a fleeting moment of clarity amidst the chaos. His grip on the glider loosened, and for an instant, it seemed as though reason might prevail. But the serum's grip on his mind was unrelenting, snuffing out the glimmer of hope.

"No, Peter," Harry's voice hardened, bitterness seeping through his words. "It's too late for me. The darkness has consumed me, just as it did my father. There's no redemption left for me."

Peter's heart sank, the weight of his failures crushing him once again. He had clung to the hope of saving his friend, of breaking the cycle of tragedy that had plagued them. But the power of the serum's had proved stronger than he had imagined, its hold on Harry's soul unyielding.

In that moment, the tension between them reached its apex. Peter's pain surged, the absence of the symbiote amplifying his emotions and clouding his judgment. The lines between right and wrong blurred, and he made a split-second decision—a decision that echoed the tragic events of their past.

With a surge of adrenaline, a weakened Peter lunged forward, his hand aiming to knock the glider away. But Gwen, newly equipped with the symbiote and only having the barest sense of what was going on after waking from the coma and recent injuries, sprang into action alongside him. Her newfound powers and agility allowed her to engage Harry in a fierce battle, matching his every move with a combination of acrobatics and venomous strikes. As the fight unfolded, Gwen's determination and resilience shone through. She fought with the strength and grace of a seasoned hero, her symbiote-enhanced abilities empowering her every move. Despite Harry's deranged state, Gwen skillfully dodged his attacks and retaliated, using her symbiote's tendrils to immobilize his limbs.

"Harry, please," Gwen called out, her voice filled with a mix of compassion and strength. "This isn't you. We can help you find a way back from the darkness. You're not alone."

But Harry's mind remained clouded, his rage and despair fueling his actions. He fought back with a ferocity that Gwen had never witnessed before, his attacks becoming more desperate and dangerous with each passing moment.

Peter, weakened and unable to aid his friends as he watched the intense battle unfold, could only marvel at Gwen's newfound powers and her unwavering determination. He realized that she had embraced the symbiote's abilities and was using them to protect both herself and him.

In a climactic moment, as Harry launched a final, devastating attack, Gwen's reflexes honed by the symbiote allowed her to dodge with uncanny precision....and Peter could only watch in horror from across the room as it filled with a sickening thud as the deadly weapon pierced through Harry's body, and all of Peter's fears crystalized into sheer, utter horror, as time seemed to stand still as Peter watched in horror, his heart shattering into a million pieces. He had lost his best friend, sealing Harry's tragic fate in a scene reminiscent of the haunting memories that haunted them both. The room fell into an eerie silence—a chilling echo of the choices made and the lives forever altered.

He watched numbly as Gwen crumpled to the floor next to Harry, her body wracked with sobs, as she tried to wake their friend with increasing desperation. In the back of his mind, a dark part of himself whispered that the symbiote, once a source of comfort and power, now felt like a malevolent curse—a force that had twisted others actions and led to the death of someone he held dear. He ignored that thought, driving it deep into the recesses of his mind as he shambled his way over over to her and, hesitating for a moment, held her against him in a gentle embrace, his own tears dripping down his face as she wept into his chest.

He was forever unsure of the timeframe after that, only that at some point he heard the crash of a helicopter nearby and knew that they could not stand idle, pulling them away from their friend, their brother.

Behind him, from the thick ash that had befallen the room like a blanket of mist, appeared a security team flanking Norman Osbourne...who saw only the Spiders retreating back, and the body of his fallen son...and soon, a quiet whisper, full of unholy rage, left his lips.

"This was never the terms of our deal. Unholy father, I beseech you, aid me."

A/N: Here's part three, where Mysterio (somewhat) follows his classic origin and is out to get Universal for fucking him over (why does that sound familiar), Iron Man and a number of others sit at the heart of a conspiracy, and we got Spider-Gwenom through her friend suffering a psychotic break...oh, and Norman's deal with Mephisto has come back into play [616 canon!].

[EDIT: Realized that I made a mistake in writing Harry's scene after I woke up, where I referenced him as having a symbiote. He does not, as I meant to say serum; what he's on is the Oz Formula.]
[EDIT2: Forgot to mention, Osbourne's deal with Mephisto is of a very different nature than the one in the comics, the motivation for them being more in line with his Insomniac Variant, but I'll explain more on that in the coming sections.]

As folks in the Victorian Adventure Quest know, I've been messing around with AI art.

Almost forgot to share with this thread the results for Bruce O'Brian:

I am getting serious JoJo vibes here. Any thoughts on the series because JoJo would be EPIC and.... Honestly I could imagine Bruce being a character there.

Heck, if there ain't star wars reference stand I will be surprised as all heck

I like the second and fifth ones the best as the second one looks like Bruce spot on and the fifth one looks like an amazing animated depiction. However, even those aren't 100% accurate because Bruce has jet black hair.

Eh, some of them seem to be animated depiction and brown ironically looks better animated than black

...Kodak should not have made that challenge.

Indeed! George seems to have taken it personally!!

Okay... so George is doing another technical revolution in Hollywood I assume?

I'm just getting anscious to see us getting our due at the Oscars. About time we gain some goddamn awards for our contribution to film industry.
