Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

As folks in the Victorian Adventure Quest know, I've been messing around with AI art.

Almost forgot to share with this thread the results for Bruce O'Brian:

I like the second and fifth ones the best as the second one looks like Bruce spot on and the fifth one looks like an amazing animated depiction. However, even those aren't 100% accurate because Bruce has jet black hair.

It refused to come out pure black, so this was what left of that was good.

The rest...we don't talk about the rest.

Personally, I like the first and last one the best. Second looks a bit too modern and pretty boy to me, while the first gives me a more period accurate vibe. The last just looks fucking awesome.

Personally, number 2 and 4 seem more appropriate for me. The second seems him at his most formal, while the fourth is him when he's relaxing.

...you know what the funny thing is? My first reaction to seeing them reminded me of a pirate...a very specific pirate.
If you were expecting Jack Sparrow I'm sorry to disappoint, but...that's Colin O'Donoghue, best known as Captain Hook from Once Upon A Time.

I liked that one specifically, because I thought that was something he absolutely be rocking back at the house when he's "Dad".

What prompt did you use? I kind of want to try and see if I can get a couple results for what Bruce would look like in his various roles.
I used three, which were basically identical except for clothing:
  • Late 20s Irishman, short hair, black hair, bodybuilder, martial artist clothing, 1980s.
  • Late 20s Irishman, short hair, black hair, bodybuilder, business suit, 1980s.
  • Late 20s Irishman, short hair, black hair, bodybuilder, casual t-shirt and jeans, bomber jacket, 1980s.

I think bodybuilder severely threw off the results as Bruce doesn't have those kinds of muscles. He's a boxer and kung fu master so his body is more muscular and athletic like Sylvester Stallone in Rocky III. At most he's like current John Cena, during his Bruce's peak when he fought against Ali.

I've been looking for them, and their descriptions and bonus as well, but I can't seem to find them.
I swore I put them here somewhere, but I'll repost them here just in case.

Sunrise Animation (Subsidiary): This is considered the Japanimation animated division, in charge of all things Japanese entertainment, as well as dealing with the minor stuff that is going on and dealing with distubution of Lucasfilms products in Japan. Considered by man working in Japan to be the highest quality studio, they have an incredible work culture, as well as being an all around nice place to work at. (All Anime related projects get a +100 to all quality rolls. Products released internationally will not suffer any maluses. Can currently create 2 animated projects at the same time that are directly comissioned from Lucasfilms higher ups, meaning you. Has a great deal of autonomy and mostly does its own thing, meaning you can get no more unless you put someone else in charge.)

Sunset Toys (Subsidiary/sister company): The Toy development division, mostly handling the Star Wars and Gundam backlog from Kenner and Bandi. (Merch rolls from films are increased by a factor of 2. For TV shows, by a factor of 4.)

Even in those pictures (the photo-realistic, not anime), he's still within the bounds of a middleweight bodybuilder. Doesn't help that muscular gives much the same result but without the definition, which I though was fine. Not to mention, I thought the muscle definition, especially in the first one, was pretty on point for Patrick Swayze in Ghost.

Also, you're forgetting the fact that A) for the longest time leading up the Ali fight, we were talking about Bruce going for the heavyweight title which I thought made this an acceptable deviatiation, and B) Bruce also became the Grandmaster and Founder for HEMA, so if we account for wearing armor, again, this is an acceptable deviatiation.

Anyone on the thread familiar with what heavy metal/metal or metal-adjacent bands are active around this time? Need to know for an omake. I did some research myself, but I'd like to hear if I missed anything that would work better.

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Deff Lepard, Ratt, AC/DC, Twisted Sister, Whitesnake, Van Halen, Quiet Riot, Venom, Great White, Manilla Road, Crimson Glory, London, Helix, Kick Axe, Krokus.

These are some, I don't know if you already knew about them.

Metallica won't form until next year, and Manowar is formed in 1980.

I had Black Sabbath picked out originally for a couple of reasons, but these are all strong choices. Out of curiosity(and definitely for no other reason ), in your opinion, which of these groups do you think would most likely have some kind of connection with Carrie or could be brought in by her?

Sorry, I would not know. I mostly know about these bands because one of my friends is a massive Heavy Metal fan and I've learned their names through that, but I don't know that much about their composition.

Perhaps AC/DC? They nearly disbanded due to the death of their frontman (alcohol poisoning) but soldiered on and managed a comeback after recruiting someone else. Perhaps it's because of the connectionbetween addictions, but that's all I can come up with at the moment.

No worries at all man, it's all good. 👍 I'm just trying to work out an omake for the music and soundtrack of Pacific Rim and because the actual movie uses a lot of heavier, metal or hard rock-type music, I had to try and find some group that could perform the music. I had to choose an actual group though, that way someone else could bring them in, because Mavis(the writer and the focus of the omake just like the previous one) definitely would not know these bands or music beyond a vague sense of what she thinks the music should be like for Pacific Rim.

In that case, I'd reccomend Manowar. They're known because of their lyrics based on fantasy and mythology. They're due to be formed this year, so perhaps the connection is that they're heard when they are just starting, and whoever is listening (perhaps Carrie) thinks they're good, talks about them to Bruce, the team making Pacific Rim still need music and Bruce thinks back to that band and thinks of giving them a shot.

It's all I can think of for now, hope it helps.
