Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

So even if we roll badly we must succeed in getting into the good graces of George Lucas.

We can make tens of millions of dollars if he likes us and if we can get cast as one of the big 3

@Thinker90 i have a fun little idea for the achievement list you made:

Writing your own screen play, selling it and then star in the remake.

That just seems fun and stupid and so Hollywood at the same time.

So... Magoose Dice.

We shall see how the Magoose dice decide to min-max us this time around. That is their favorite shtick, after all.

We shall need to prepare a bed of roses... and bring plenty of gasoline.

-[X] Alan and Comedy: You look at Alan and see how he did his scenes, and you realized something... He was effortless. Perhaps he can help you with this... effort that you now find yourself in. DC: 40 Rolled:

When you sat down, Alan realized what was going on with you. "Something tells me that you didn't like those first takes?"

You looked up and sighed. "Yeah. They were just… terrible. It was not funny at all. Every line fell flat, and I didn't do anything well."

Alan took a moment to take a deep breath, and he shook his head. "Well I can't tell you what to do, but I can give you something that might make your delivery better."

You looked at Alan with a raised eyebrow. "You'd help?"

"Kid, I've been in your shoes a while ago, back when I first started, and I thought I was no good too, though, not nearly as moppy as you are doing now. I didn't have the confidence. Arrogance perhaps, but not the confidence."

You frowned. "Now your sounding like my friend, he's really good at telling people what they want to hear. Even when they don't want to."

Alan took a moment to think. "Well, you have a problem of acting the jokes and trying to play the straight man. Don't. Your not that part. What you have to do, besides trying to relax."

"Relax?" You asked, yawning.

"Yeah, relax a little. This is supposed to be fun, everyone will come on and expert fun. So have it." He smiled.

--------------------

It got better. Much better after that.

It was fun, to have fun.

Mostly because you started to do some small, insignificant, but funny pranks on everyone.

Alan mostly, but the set atmosphere relaxed significantly.

Reward: Alan gave some advice, and helped you relax on set as you prepared for the shoot.

It made your comedy better significantly.

+10 to the rolls of SP. +10 to Alan/Bruce Chemistry.

Set hostilities will be less of a problem, at least for now, as everyone on set realized you were actually a kid with his first real role.

Even Wayne felt a little bad about his poor attitude. Just a little though, he's still very much angry at you for taking over for Radar.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

-[X] Meet the Producers: The Moneymen and people in charge are always going to be an influence on you. Perhaps you can have a better second impression. DC: 40 Rolled:

You looked at Larry, and then at the other suits who were from CBS. The suits were not pleased to meet you. In fact the only one happy to see you were Larry himself.

And at this very moment, he was like a knight in shining armor, defending you. "You went behind our back Larry, bringing in this kid." One of the suits said. He was a regular office drone that seemed more interested in money, than art.

Larry himself was calm and collected. "Perhaps. But that is not the point. I did in fact go behind the back of the board, and the suits, because Gary left the production early, and I needed to scramble." He then pointed to you. "He's been a blessing on set."

"In what ways?" another suit asked.

"Well, for one thing, he's quiet, professional, and doesn't complain," Larry said. "Every time he's on screen, I can feel he is trying his best in every single shot, and is clearly someone who has talent."

"Talent?" the suit asked. "I'm sorry sir, but the other producer's questions if you made the right choice."

"I made the right choice, so shut up, and let him work." Larry said as you sunk into a chair, fear in your legs.

------------------------------------

He showed them an unedited episode a few hours later.

And the producers shut up and wondered how the hell they missed you.

Reward: Larry went to bat for you, and the producers realized something as they saw your work, and they saw one thing.

They had a star on their hands, and they would do everything to keep you happy and on the show.

They also knew that the show was going to be a hit.

-----------------------------------------

-[X] Workout: A Healthy Mind and a Healthy Body are Key to having a good life, and you have been slacking as of late. Time to hit the workout and discipline, and perhaps, see things differently. DC: 30 Reward: You work out and feel better. Rolled:

It all started with a simple workout scheme that Bruce gave you. He had instructed a very hard workout regime of cardio, strength training, and then, of course, martial arts.

You ran ten miles every day when you were not working and three when you were, and that was when you were lucky to not shoot as many scenes.

The strength workout was far more intensive and easier to do on set. 200 push-ups, 200 sit-ups, 200 bicep curls (using a few books in each hand), 20 pull-ups (using one of the metal fixtures that were bolted into the floor)

Everyone on set wondered what the hell you were doing but accepted the insanity that you were a freak, doing things that they accepted was just how you had fun.

However, there was a problem. A very peculiar one.

While Bruce was not exactly around to help you learn more traditional martial arts, you found yourself in a very peculiar situation to learn.

A boxing gym. And then you started to train. A few of the amateurs that were there were giving you pointers, and then… a coach showed up and wondered what the hell you were doing.

And then you talked. He said that you moved well, and after a few minutes, he was downright ready to train you for a professional debut.

You respectfully told him you would think about it, because you had to work.

Reward: Martial Arts Learned: Boxing

You are becoming far more muscular and toned, something that will be noticed on camera.

There are magazines that want to use you as a Male Model because a muscular teenager with a handsome face sells.

And a boxing Coach wants you to train you to become a professional boxer.

New Actons Available.

The Athletic trait upgrades. (+20 to choreography rolls. -10 to all injury roll)

-[X] Networking: Well time to start finding out who might actually be interested in meeting you. (Write-in what you want to try and network with)
--[X] George Lucas, write him a letter expressing how much you enjoy his recent work on THX 1138 and how thrilled you will be to do future work with him, actually you had an idea you think he would like, a Flash Gordon adaptaion Rolled:

Dear Mr. Lucas,

Apologize in advance if this letter sounds, pretentious, but I have a great love of cinema, and THX is one of the most fantastic works of Sci-Fi I have seen in my short time here on this earth. I feel that people, soon, will appreciate the artistry that was on display here, but there was so much more that will be lost.

But I am getting off on myself and saying nothing in return, My name is Bruce O'Brian, and I'm an actor. It's a strange thing to say, but after a few weeks, it really is something that I am proud of. I really like your work, and I will try my best to keep my wish brief.

I want to work with you in the future. I truly believe that you are more talented than any other of the hack directors I have worked with, both here in America, and in Hong Kong, when it comes to the language of cinema.

I also think you are perhaps the only person who can see a dream of mine come true. I want to star in a Flash Gordon adaptation. It seems in the wayside of history, and other places

And that is something I believe will serve better than anything. If ever you need help, just give me a call, or come visit. I left my address on the letters Envelope.

Thank you for your time. And I hope that you continue to make films George. You have talent.

Bruce.

A Letter of thanks came a few days later. With his hope to keep in touch, and work on getting the rights for Flash Gordon.

Reward: George Lucas has been met (informally), and you are in correspondence.

He has also told you about a friend of his, Steve Spielberg, but that is it.

He hopes that you will both get to work together soon.

-[X] Hire an Agent: You need someone who is entirely capable of negotiating for you. Cost 1000 Dollars per month. DC: ?? Rolled:

So… You may have made some waves, as every talent agency in Hollywood wanted to sign you.

So you went to Creative Artists Agency, a new start-up in the business, and they were insanely lucky to have your business.

And it turned out, it was for the best, as they had the eye and ear of every producer and studio in Hollywood.

And with your name on it, you would see yourself getting a lot more film roles.

Reward: You are now being represented by the Creative Artists Agency, in LA.

New Action Available.

+5 to getting a film role.

A/N: You all thought it was bad news, but it was I DIO-

Jokes aside, it was funny seeing you guys panicking over nat 1s when almost every roll was above 90.

This was why the Magoose dice are on a leash… look at this bullshit and tell me with a straight face that was not insane.
