Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Along with purchasing the rights to more stories I'd look into making an informal deal with King where we'd be the first place he goes in regards to adaptations of any hypothetical future books he might write. Like, for example, a certain story about a killer clown.

That deal would be more tantalizing to King after every time we knock an adaptation of his work out of the park. Like the future Craven-helmed Shining movie.

I just realized that when we build a theme park we should make a haunted attraction based around our horror properties. Hopefully King would like it.

Also, I'll repeat from previous posts, I think we should get the rights for The Princess Bride and begin production on the movie, same with the Never-Ending Story. Or at the very least with the later, get the distribution rights.

I can't seem to recall other properties we could add, but perhaps you can give some ideas.

Quick Question, would my Pitch for Journey to the West count as an anime or as more of an animated TV Show.

Good lord Unions are supposed to support the workers not be a liability. And it's all out of greed & "morality". Well those greedy stuck up pearl clutchers can go kiss our asses.

Whenever an organization gets power over someone else it tends to become tyranical oand overbeearing over time. That is why the founding fathers knew that ti might be for the best to separate the government into different branches to create a system of check and balances between each of them so that no one can overwhelm the other.

Unions and corporations don't seem to think that way however. As we have seen OTL, the Guilds and Unions can be just as shortsighted, greedy, and covetous for more power as the corporations can. They just needed a chance.

Alright guys, listen to me here. The best way to stick it to the Guilds (and increase our subsidiaries for the future)...we buy Daiei Films and make Japanese movies using Japanese directors, thus also weakening Toho by creating an alternative that will drain them from the actors and directors that would otherwise go to them.
Another way around this would be to ramp up distribution again and importing foreign films like we did before. Can't take maluses/have the unions interfere on shit that's already been made.

because we like it." You said.

12 Actions.

Lucasfilms Unlimited Actions:

[]Tell the Strikers to Fuck off: You look at the representatives and tell them percisely how you feel. DC: ???

[]Marathon Madness: You look at Steve and smile. "You outdid yourself with this one." DC: 10
Btw, Magoose? I think there's some stuff missing here.

By the way @Magoose, can we begin selection for our TV Shows and Channel now, or do we need to wait a bit longer?
A little longer. That is an action that will come later on in the year.

Animated TV show or anime.

Well here is the thing for at least the animators and the producer's and directors guilds.

They Hate Lucasfilms.

Not because they are paradises for the workers working there, no not that. They hate George and Bruce for personal reasons. They are not part of the guilds, they don't support them, giving them little leverage when working for other companies, and there is the simple fact that...

Well, here is the thing. The Guilds right now are incredibly powerful, and they are kinda letting that power go to their heads a little. Considering the success they had in the recent years, you'd be like that too.

And Lucasfilms blatent disregard and basically doing its own thing, instead of being like every other company in Hollywood, confuses the fuck out of them, makes them fear their power, and go after them.
Thank you for at least thinking that it needs something... but I'm crying at the constant dashing hope that my pitches will never get made
They will get made, they just take time for that to happen, given everything that has happened.

As to the Unions. Rather than buying another studio, maybe we can build up Lucasfilm across the world?

Here is my thought:
Start a construction branch of Lucasfilm and upgrade both ILM and Legal.

Build a mini-Lucasfilm campus around the world in: Japan, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, and France. Maybe Canada. Slowly have each branch be headed up by a local producer or director of some note. Have each branch make their own movies and have the best be distributed around the world.

So, if Union strikes next time we can just shunt to other sources of films. Also, builds up local film industries and helps us get local talent of directors and actors.

Edit:
Though instead of Lucasfilm Japan it might not be a bad idea to buy a Japanese company as suggested because there is no building time.

Good idea. I think John Boorman is working on Excalibur at the moment. We should distribute it at some point. I remmeber watching it as a kid and loving it. in a way, it was my introduction to the entire Arthurian Mythos.
