Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

[X]MASH: You were given a call from Brooks about a young man being needed for a TV show. And you of course listened to him, how one producer Larry Gelbert actually saw your Vegas performances last month and thought you were a riot act and wanted to call you in, but no one knew who you were, and he was flashing around a picture of you everywhere in Hollywood. It wasn't until Brooks saw the photo that the two men finally talked to you. Gelbert wanted you on the show he was developing, as a character from the Novel. Corporal Walter Eugene O'Reilly, or known as Radar O'Reilly in the script. (You have been offered the Role of Radar O'Reilly on MASH)

Well, if we want to rip off some movies. Die Hard should be an option since that's a great movie that kind of invented a whole new genre of Action films.

I'd also consider The Terminator (1984), Heat (1995) and Collateral (2004).

Voting Closed.
Voting is ended with what I believe is a narrow victory for MASH.

[X]Colombo: You have been given a job as a heavy of Colombo, a murderer that has an ingenious scheme, of hiding his involvement. Not only hiding out in a public place with dozens of witnesses around, but also destroying the murder weapon by burning it. Its a job that requires sophistication, class and charm, something you have abundence of. (Be a TV Heavy for Peter Falk's Colombo)
    [X]MASH
    [X]Colombo
    [x]Mcloud
[X] MASH and Colombo, Bruce found both of those options very appealing and will try to apply to those two choices, provided that the the timing doesn't conflict with each other

I really don't want to rip off other movies and shows, beside ripping off, it's boring

Let's do original stuff! I already shared an idea (that I would be happy if we decide to expand upon!) about a romantic comedy film featuring an "insane" couple who met up in a mental home after they both were hearing voices: the thoughts of each other! Now they must escape or convince the staff they are not insane while not sharing their secret telepathic ability

So here is another idea, more drama mystery, I would love getting input and others ideas to develop it (or something else)!

Original Movie idea: Missing - Drama Mystery

A plane that's been missing for years suddenly lands at a major airport. Upon landing the crew and passengers are quarantined and interviewed by a team of doctors, psychologists, detectives and various eccentric experts. The protagonist is the man in charge of that team, who has to find answers. Throughout the investigation, the media and the public are pressing for answers and advocating for the release of the people who were on the plane.

All the people on the plane aged in the time they were away, but say they don't remember anything apart from boarding and arriving (albeit a few years later than they intended).

The protagonist senses foul play of some sorts, random stuff like this doesn't just happen, someone profited from the whole thing, but how, why, and who was involved in that conspiracy?

A MASH of a Meeting (October 1971)
You kept twiddling your thumbs as you waited for the interview to begin. There was tripe of the usual Hollywood types, secretaries, other producers, and of course, another, more sinister sort that was watching you. The Talent Scouts, the producers who wanted their ideas to win… while there was possibly the most important thing of all that could cause you to set about.

The Heads of the studios themselves were wandering about. They were looking for the next big thing, hoping and listening to the next show.

Yet you took a moment to take a breath and remember to breathe. Remember some of the techniques that Bruce taught you when you were training.

It kept you calm, despite the various looks it got from the others who were watching you.

Everyone marveled at the sight of a young man, so calm, just waiting and sitting and otherwise… Being better and less afraid than everyone else.

Then the door opened, and you saw the man you were waiting for, Larry Gelbert. "Mister O'Brian." He said your name as you stood up. "Come in."

You walked into the room and took a seat, opening up as you quietly gave a small smile to the producer. Then Larry sat down.

"You asked me here?" You stated a question rather than a true statement. That made the producer look at you curiously.

"Indeed." He said. "You see there is this show I am developing, something that I hold quite a bit of faith in."

"I read the script, quite funny, but why me, if you don't mind me asking? What is the appeal you see in me?" You asked.

Larry smiled. "Quite simple, your young, cheap, and my eye for talent is impeccable?"

You frowned as you crossed your arms. "Cheap? I get the eye for talent, and I know I am that good but cheap?"

"First job in Hollywood, most people would kill to be in your position? Especially after a show in Vegas?"

"Not my first job." You replied. "I worked in China with Bruce Lee."

That made the producer frown before he looked at the picture again. Then he asked. "Goose?"

"A Funny nickname that I will never escape, so lets stick to Bruce or O'Brian." You stated bluntly. "Now, let's talk."

"Didn't think you would work on TV?" He asked.

"Well, I have been of the proposition that work can lead to work. And that a job is a job. It's only when passion gets involved that it can become more. Haven't found one that has the passion yet." You smiled. "Just the need to get cash?"

Larry then changed the subject. "You have a knack for comedy."

"Pretty terrible at it to be honest." You replied. "People think the material is what you need, but you need timing, sense and just being real. Unfortunately, that isn't me. I never had it."

"Yet you worked in Vegas, for over a month, and drew the most crowds that that casino had ever seen. Could have made a lot of money." He stated. "Why did you leave?"

"Business opportunity. That and my joy in life is acting, can't do that on stage telling jokes." You replied.

At that Larry nodded. "Yet I have one more question. One more. What do you think gets your attention on this show?"

What caught your attention?:

"So… What do you need?" He asked.

"Money?"

Of course, money. "Yes. You are without an agent, but something tells me you know that."

What do you want as payment?

Not voting yet, just throwing some thoughts about what can we ask as payment

We can ask for a meeting with some people of interest

We can ask for letter of recommendation or equivalent

We can ask for invites for some high society events for network purposes (my fave, tbh)

We can pitch an idea for something original

We try to change our role in MASH, or some storylines

1-3 we get regardless if we do good and i would rather get cash then exposure
4 we are too new in this biz so wait on it
5 roll we are auditioning is set and we don't have the pull the change the storylines

What about making minimum wage and instead getting a cut when the show reruns?

We'll make bank, considering that we might have more then a hundred episodes we appear in.

We might make serious money.

I think asking for invitation to parties/events/galas in order to network with important people in Hollywood would be great
We'll be able to do that anyway, considering that we're slowly making a name for ourselves.

i mean think about it, we'll have some things we can do to do that.

Not only would we have the possibility to make bank, it would make us a more desirable Acter as we will cost less than the average hire.
And that is desirable, and it might make the studios, or future directors (Cough George Lucas Cough) To see that, while he might be able to get away with unknowns, he might also want an established star in his Space Movie.

I say to basically get a fair contract, expected work hours healthcare, expected overtime you know the usual professional drill, also connection to where bruce can get lessons to improve his craft, a cheap and skilled actor is one thing a cheap skilled actor that is not an diva and will go out of his way to get better? A producers dream.

..... forgoing getting a cut in reruns if we are offered? Are you people high hell no. Its a shit idea.
