Lights... Camera... ACTION!!: A Hollywood Quest

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
Hi Magoose here one of the guys helping Duke.

So we have some bad news.

The quest has been canceled as duke does not want to write it anymore.

I'm going to ask if I can take over for it, because I like this quest, and it would be a shame to kill it
TBF, Mags, you have been doing a lot of the heavylifting for the quest, so this will be in good hands. :)

To be clear to everyone, this is just me burning out on imagination of the quest, since my muse has been hitting me over the head a lot with so many different ideas that I just can't find myself too interested in this.

I'll still hang out here, though, since this still does have a sepcial place in my heart.

I'd like to thank you all for making this a wonderful experience while it lasted.

I'd also like to thank @Magoose, @Fluffy_serpent, and @Martin Noctis for doing so much to help prepare and write this quest. I couldn't have done it without you all. :D

I'll see you all around.

With so many regards, Duke William Of.

Say @Magoose out of all the movie studios which one will make a movie on us
Our own will of course.
Carter at least has that going for him as the only American President who successfully performed Rollback, though at the same time most of the heavy lifting was done by Romania itself
Yep. But hey at least he has that victory going for him.
Carter now has to deal with being the human rights foreign policy President in a hyper tense Cold War where the Soviets opened the Biowar genie
Yep but hey Jimmy was always good on that front so he should be fine.
Even if South Korea is a total success and Romania gets into NATO, Carter still has to deal with the ongoing nightmare that is the Iranian hostage crisis and foreign policy always comes second to domestic, and here Stagflation is going on powerfully and made worse by the global economy panicking from the Biowar.
Yep… hopefully it won't lead to NK deciding to do something stupid like get small pox… or something.
Bruce's refugee humanitarianism and recent developments in the Cold War would change that
That would be true. Especially since it's from nations that have communist governments trying doing bad things.

So how scared is Castro since the Soviets did the Biobombs and lost the Romanian war @Magoose and america would definitely use this as an excuse to get Cuba (since now hippy culture and anti war sentiment is now dying due to well the Soviets bio bombs

You know he is trying to get that, but knowing Romania at this point we may see some… horse trading
Yes but it's like using a band-aid on a amputee victim. He needs to do something big domesticly to regain the public's confidence.
Two birds one stone Carter sends in the sixth fleet to the black sea
1st.secures trade routes for Romanian Oil and goods
2nd.sending in the fleet not only shows Carters commitment to western democracy in Romania but also appeases the warhawks by humiliating the soviets by being able to excert control in their own backyard

(if he wants to risk a possible ww3)

No.

Just no. This is wish fulfillment not dystopia.

This may be a step too far unless you want: "Cuban Missle Crisis 2 electric boogaloo: Dracula edition"
Carter is hinging on the fact that with the ongoing purge in the ussr the sixth fleet can go in the black sea. port into Romania. do a quick tour and negotiate an Oil trade and then leave A.S.A.P before the soviets could respond and start something stupid.

(and both the Dems and Reps will call him stupid for thinking that)

The Amazing Spider-Man [ Series 1: Peter Parker / Season 2 ]
The Amazing Spider-Man [ Series 1: Peter Parker / Season 1 ]:

  • Sandman: Flint Marko/Walter Hardy
  • Loki (Secondary)

The season began with a somber scene as Peter Parker knelt in front of Uncle Ben's gravestone. It was the seventh anniversary of Ben's death, and Peter couldn't help but feel a profound sense of loss. He spoke to the tombstone, giving his uncle an abridged update on life without him. Tears welled up in Peter's eyes as he expressed his frustration at not being able to talk to Ben directly. And then, his voice broke, and he blurted out the painful truth—Ben's killer was still at large.

The scene shifted to a flashback, revealing a younger Spider-Man attempting to raise cash as a wrestler. On that fateful night, he had allowed a burglar to escape after robbing the manager. Little did he know that the events of that night would forever change his life. Later, while Peter was away making a personal appearance as Spider-Man, the same burglar broke into the Parker home. He held Ben and May Parker at gunpoint, demanding May to show him around so he could find something. Filled with fury, Ben ordered the burglar to release May. In a moment of fear, the burglar shot Ben, stole his car, and fled.

Back in the present, a man named Flint Marko escaped SHIELD custody. He had been an unwilling asset of SHIELD, exploited for his clandestine knowledge and unique sand-manipulating abilities. But Marko's patience had worn thin, and he yearned for freedom. He made a covert alliance with Herman Schultz, also known as the Shocker, and together, they devised a plan to break Marko out of SHIELD custody. Using Marko's connections within the facility, they exploited weaknesses in the security protocols, causing chaos and disarray. With their meticulous plan executed flawlessly, Marko shattered his containment unit and emerged as a free man once more.

Meanwhile, Nick Fury approached Peter Parker disguised as an NYPD officer. He revealed Marko's true identity as the killer of Uncle Ben. Both Peter and Fury understood that their paths had converged for a greater purpose—to bring justice to the Sandman. This revelation filled Peter with anger and a desire for vengeance. He donned his Spider-Man suit and purposefully hunted down Marko. In a subway tunnel, Spider-Man confronted Marko, engaging in a fierce battle. Peter discovered that water was Marko's weakness, and he used it to his advantage. Opening a pipe, he released water that reduced Marko to mud, washing him away in a sewer.

Peter's changed demeanor and heightened aggression alienated Gwen Stacy, who struggled to handle him in such a state. Startled by his own behavior and unsure of how to proceed, Peter retreated into seclusion, spending the next few days reflecting on his actions, somewhat ignoring others attempts to reach out to him, most notably Harry Osborn and his ex (from highschool), Kitty Pryde.

Eventually, he joined the Avengers in their battle against Loki, who was wreaking havoc on the Brooklyn Bridge. Spider-Man proved to be the most successful in redirecting Loki's blows and limiting the destruction. Loki took notice of Spider-Man's abilities and focused his efforts on testing Peter's limits. During the confrontation, Spider-Man was knocked into the East River, dismissing a black patch on his costume as pollution.

That night, Peter awoke wearing an unfamiliar costume, hanging from a skyscraper. Confused and curious, he tried to uncover what had happened. Seeking answers, Peter consulted Dr. Hank Pym, who urged him to remove the suit for further study after discovering that the suit was an alien symbiotic life form, which enhanced not only his spider powers but also everything else about him, further aggravating his mental state. However, Spider-Man decided to keep it, hoping it would give him an edge against Marko.

When Spider-Man finally confronted Sandman, the symbiote clung to his form, pulsing with energy. It amplified his every move, granting him enhanced precision and power. Spider-Man fought with increased finesse, anticipating Marko's moves and reacting swiftly. The symbiote's presence was apparent, but Peter fought to maintain control, determined to use its power for good.

Finally, Spider-Man defeated Sandman, ensnaring him in a web cocoon. His gaze hardened, and his voice carried a mix of determination, rage, and grief. He demanded answers from Marko, who shared his tragic story— a tale of deception, that began as the young boy Walter Hardesky when he learned the secret of the super soldier serum by accident, his transformation into the Sandman, and the weight of past actions, where Uncle Ben's death was caused by his lack of trigger discipline when Ben had taken offense at his attempt to threaten Aunt May, looking for a way escape the authorities. Peter was left to grapple with the complexity of seeking justice and redemption...before SHIELD's sudden intervention led to Sandman's escape.
-NOTE: What follows is the last fifteen minutes of the season.-

Furious at Fury, he returned home to Gwen emotionally drained from his battles and with a heavy heart. He yearned for solace, a respite from the chaos that had consumed his life. But as he stepped through the door, he was met with an unimaginable sight—Harry Osborn, his best friend, had suffered a drastic transformation.

Norman Osborn, Harry's father, had long been haunted by the devastating loss of his wife, Emily, who had succumbed to a degenerative disease. Desperate to save his son from the same fate, Norman delved into the realm of cutting-edge medical research. In his pursuit of a cure, he unwittingly exposed Harry to experimental treatments, hoping to shield him from the tragic destiny that befell their family. However, something had gone terribly wrong. The experimental treatments had unforeseen consequences, triggering a profound physical and psychological change within Harry. The once vibrant and kind-hearted young man had devolved into a harrowing form, becoming the Green Goblin. In his distorted state of mind, the Green Goblin blamed Peter for his condition. Consumed by anger and confusion, he believed that Peter, his closest friend, had conspired with his father to subject him to this torment. In his fractured reality, he saw Gwen Stacy as an accomplice, an embodiment of the pain and suffering he had endured.

Without warning, the Green Goblin seized Gwen and ascended to the heights of the Brooklyn Bridge. Peter's heart pounded in his chest as he raced against time, desperately trying to reach Gwen before the Goblin's delusions led to a tragic end. The weight of guilt crashed upon Peter's shoulders as he realized the devastating consequences of his friend's transformation. With every ounce of his being, Spider-Man flung himself forward, web-slinging with unparalleled agility to catch Gwen before she plummeted into the abyss below. The air crackled with tension as he wrapped her in his protective embrace, breaking her fall and ensuring her safety. Yet, even in that moment of relief, Peter couldn't escape the haunting truth that his connection to Harry had brought them all to the brink of disaster.

As sirens wailed in the distance, Peter cradled Gwen's broken form, tears streaming down his face, before we transition to a hospital room where Gwen now lies in a coma, Peter doing his best to hold it together.

A/N: That last fight is a cliffhanger, the Green Goblin storyline continuing in the next season.

Also that bit with Loki comes from the shower-thought: What if Loki was the one who forged All-Black the Necrosword? Figure he made it either to use against Those Who Sit Above in Shadow for their part in the Ragnarok Cycle, or against the Celestials
when he witnessed the Infinity Stone Forge.

Stronger Then You Think
Stronger Then You Think:

Brandon Lee was not a happy young man when he came to your house on Saturday to Spar. That much was certain when you looked at him as he seemed to be relishing in the freedom of being free from high school and having far more free time to do what his own passions demanded.

That of being a young man trying to get work in Tinsletown, as well as competing within many, many, many martial arts tournaments that were all around California. He was as happy as could be. This could be why his appearance and his summoning by you were causing him quite an uproar. Of course, there were many things that he thought about before coming here.

That did not include you. "Brandon, your mother wants you to remain home and help her with the gym. You want to have the ability to travel with Chuck around the country and fight in martial arts tournaments." You smiled. "As you can see, normally, your mother would have given you the chance to not say no, and force you to stay here as is her right. But I came up with a different plan. if you are so adamant about getting out in the world and trying to live that kind of life, you are welcome too."

You then pointed to the circle. "You just have to beat me in a Spar."

That made Brandon wince for a moment. Of course, he would be thinking in fear and loathing. He never beat you. Ever. And that was a statement of fact. When it came to hand-to-hand combat, nunchucks... hell, practically any weapon that he could think of, and you could afford, you found mastery in it.

It may not have been immediate, but you learned eventually. You had time. "You are serious?" He asked, and you could feel a sense of dread in his voice. "You want me to fight you? that's impossible."

"Impossible is only a word in the mind of the unimaginative and the fearful. And we both know you are not that." You replied. "Besides, I'm going to handicap myself, just so that you have a chance."

Brandon then seemed to have something going through his mind as he began to think of something. "Wait, why did my mom put you up to this? in fact, why would you even accept that kind of idea in the first place?"

You smiled. "Because you are too much like your father, and your mother, to really be given any other chance or choice."

Brandon was confused, as if he was trying to see everything in his mind's eye, and then at you. "But why?"

"Your mother cares for you, and I care for you quite a bit as well, and I feel like I owe Bruce the chance to try and live that way, rather than try to force you to be anything else." You said. "Now, are you coming or not?"

Brandon, being a moody teenager, huffed, clearly afraid that he was going to be embarrassed, but lacking either the humility or having his own pride tell him that he could beat you.

Either way, he followed you to the makeshift sparing circle. Once you entered, you looked at him, and both of you bowed. "My handicap will be me fighting you with only one hand." Your arm, slowly, deliberately, and carefully, went behind your back.

Brandon's eyes widened as he realized something. "What about your feet?"

"Brandon, I said I was giving myself a handicap, not that I was going easy on you." You replied with a smile.

Brandon gulped. "Are you ready?" You asked, nay, demanded from the young man as he stepped back slightly. He nodded, wordlessly giving you the call to continue.

"BEGIN!" You shouted, and you saw that Brandon decided to use his youth and energy to his advantage.

That being said, he was clearly hesitating, his strikes, his quick punches and kicks to your leg, were telegraphed and hesitant. He was truly giving up before he even began. "STOP!"

His kick toward your face was stopped by Brandon's own energy, mere inches away from your face, a lifetime of discipline and training to stop it, and he seemed to jump back in fear. "Bruce I-"

"Stop Brandon." You took a breath and placed your one hand on his shoulder. "You are hesitating. You are afraid, and there is no need to be. You have resigned yourself to defeat the moment you entered, and that is not what I want to see from you."

Brandon was confused. "Wait, why-"

"I want to see you at your best." You said with a smile. "Not when you're afraid."

He stepped back, and you both got ready again. "Now. Are you ready!?"

Brandon nodded, this time he had a smile on his face. "Good. BEGIN!"

Oh how you wished that you had his energy.

He was actually going to give you a challenge with one hand.
------------------------------

Brandon was huffing and puffing, trying to breath as you sat down next to him. "You lasted three minutes."

Brandon looked away, ashamed and embaressed that he lost to you, with only one hand. "You know, the things is, I wasn't expecting you to win. I wanted to see just how far you would push yourself to be part of this. To get control."

Brandon then looked at you. "Sow what was the point?"

"The point was, that you have the drive to do this. You have far more grit and determination than anyone else I have met in my time here." You said. "Well, that isn't already someone that has decades of experience."

Brandon then laughed. "So what now?"

"I don't know yet." You said. "Carrie's making dinner tonight."

Brandon groaned. "Aww, but her cooking is terrible."

Your eyes bugged out. "You better take that back Brandon, or I'll make sure she hears about it."

"Are you really going to argue about that, when she makes you do all the prep work?" He shot back.

You took a deep breath. "Thats still her cooking and I don't care." He was trying to get a rise out of you and you would not let him. "I'll tell your mother we have an arrangement."

"What arrangement?" Brandon asked.

"You'll find out at dinner."

Reward: Brandon, while he did not beat you, really proved he was his fathers son, and could keep up with you. You have told Linda that, in a few months, he will recive a call about a job, and whether he wants it or not, he should answer the phone.

AN: So this entier thing was phone typed and would have included the fight but phone typing is a total bitch.

So, I don't know about you guys, but in the coming year of 1980, there is quite a lot of movies that will be released that become iconic. Now, i don't know if we'll be able to distribute them, but I think we should at least try.

For instance, The Elephant man was Produced by Mel Brooks, but dsitributed by Paramount. I'm sure we can make a better offer for it, perhaps get a starting relationship with director David Lynch for the future. I think he could work wonders with some of our more psychological scripts, like perhaps the Amnesia series.

By the way, did you guys remember if we were going to release the Star Wars film in December of this year, or were we going to wait until next year?

Alright, it seems like its best to wait with the updates until @Magoose has a working computer. It would be better for all of us in the long term and we can wait a little bit until updates are released. Right everyone?

Also, good for Brandon. He is our Kung Fu Kid.

I am scared when 1984 comes that's when things get really scary oh and also I'm since a big purge came who will overlook the Soviet nuclear launch alarm system when It malfunction on the usa launching nukes to the ussr since I believed the dude who overlook it is probably dead

We have to release Empire in its OTL date of May so the summer crowds will swarm for it and it can become the first 2 billion dollar movie thanks to Magoose's reward.

The Rewards for meeting and compleating the Mike Eisner Omake Challenge of 1979:

All Profits for The Films released in 1980 will now have a Profit modifier of x4 in addition to other modifiers already added.
All Critic and Audience Rolls will have an increase of +200, in addition to other bonuses.
All Film Quality rolls will increase by +100 for the next 5 years.
All Rolls next turn will auto pass.
Mike is pleased. (This is a very good thing)

Qm has previously mentioned that nuclear war will not happen in this quest.
Most likely I'm not going to end the quest in nuclear fire.

No.

Just no. This is wish fulfillment not dystopia.

Hey @Magoose.

Remember when you said that once 1980 rolls in, you'd have me do it just as you requested me for the aftermath of the Hollywood Strike?

Is the offer still open?
