[X] ...roll with it. Okay, let's see how thisturns out. When did this happen, and why were you not informed?

[X] Business as usual. This is awkward. People are blushing. Sophie is obviously crushing. Ready the cannons, because you've got yourself some ammunition to spend. Tease everybody present! Tease them right this instant!

The Gokun call it gossip, Vegetans call it 'inforned concern' .
In ancient times, Holy Terrans knew it as 'Shipping'.
All we know for sure is that the scions have stood up to oposition on behalf of a weak human, and made eye contact in the aftermath.
'The wedding is planned for autumn.'

Why is the tag in front of the name 'Sci-Fi'? I don't really think 'sci-fi' when I think of Dragon Ball Z.

Turtle, actually, but flight is there to enhance the effectiveness of the focus on death by a thousand cuts by introducing an element of maneuverability. It was Bricca Talt's key contribution to the style, what she used to really bring it into the modern age. Bear in mind that these styles are based on their founders, but aren't my interpretation of their exact styles. This is three centuries of bored Saiyans tinkering with them later.
Shouldn't the modern Goku style no longer have the Spirit Bomb as an involved technique, then, given that none of its practitioners have known/used the spirit bomb for generations?
This actually came up earlier, and I answered, roughly, with, "They don't have one here. They picked the single most boring planet in the galaxy."
Do the Saiyans know there isn't one, or have they merely not found one?

There is no way this can end badly. :V

Because it technically is Science Fiction. Really unconventional science fiction, by western standards, but just being Japanese doesn't exclude it.

Hope springs eternal. There's always somebody trying to reinvent it, and they keep this big gaping whole in the style ready to plug in a really f*cking huge bomb as a finisher. Technically, the style is actually somewhat handicapped by their insistence that they'll figure it out some day.

Well, technically, they don't know given that it's theoretically possible that the Guardian be squirreled away in the planet's core somewhere, but if that was how I ruled that they know something, I'd say that they live in a permanent state of near-total, blissful ignorance. Going by that criterion, they don't know that Earth blew up, they just know that there was a lot of blue light and the feeling of Gohan popping like a high-explosives grape. It could totally be fine, if he somehow managed the literally impossible and directed the explosion. In this case they've searched Garenhuld quite thoroughly, and feel confident in saying that there's no Guardian who happens to be tucked away somewhere. No Lookout to be found, not even when they have a pair of eyes on literally every inch of sky Garenhuld has at the same moment, no outstanding ki signatures, not even when they have the Lords of the time risk going to full power outside of the Hall specifically to overcharge their senses and search, and no unexplained phenomena that are best explained by a hidden Guardian. There is absolutely no evidence for the existence of a Guardian despite a hell of a lot of very dedicated searching.

And I'll give you word-of-QM that no, there isn't one. No need to be coy about this one; they picked Garenhuld specifically because of what a backwater it was in every respect, and this is just another aspect of it. Even gods or superpowered philanthropists feel absolutely no reason to come to this place.

...actually, in the context of DBZ: before you get up to the tier where people are using god ki, is there an actual difference between the gods and mortal, superpowered philanthropists?

Dendi could SENSE God Ki, even if he couldn't use it. So could King Kai (only Supreme Kai's were actually using God Ki if I remember correctly). So the position of Guardian and Kai have some kind of investment that lets you do things that you should not normally be able to do.

Also, the Lookout had the winds of the earth sitting underneath it, the ghosts of former guardians, the time chamber, a personal teleporter, free access to the spirit realm, and other fun stuff. So basically...the difference between a super powered mortal and a Guardian is the ability to sense God Ki, and the toys that have accumulated over who knows how many years from things like Nimbus, Time Travel etc.

EDIT: Also, Picollo/Dendi/Kami/Guru all had some kind of clairvoyant ability to notice things going on around the planet. For example Piccolo/Kami could do more than just sense ki when things were going on like the Androids being absorbed by Cell, or Guru sending Dendi to make the wish on Namek's Dragonballs. This is probably a effect of whatever lets them sense God-ki, so I'm going to be presumptuous and call it 'the Eye of God'.

Sure Fortune Teller Baba could use her crystal Ball to conjure up visions of places, but the 'God's Sight' that the Guardians seemed to have was more immediate. Of course they could 'just' be sears.

Neat. I mean, I knew about the toys. Those are always fun. But somehow I forgot about the ki sensing.

There is Baba going to the otherworld though. That could mean that either a seer or a sorcerer could have go to meet king kai. Though I think you needed a guardian vouching for you before they let you meet a kai so...

On a different topic, I wonder how much we look like 18? The pic at the beginning makes us look rather like a younger 18, but that might just be an artifact of the xenoverse/DB sameface.

Six of one, half of dozen of the other. You do descend from her on some level, and definitely bear a resemblance, but the relationship is so distant that the resemblance is pure coincidence. Beyond that, your face isn't as sharp, but the difference is slight. Once Kakara is an adult, I'll go back into Xenoverse and age her up. I've already got Betarel's aged-up version, although that is, to be fair, mostly because he's my PC on that.

And so it was that as Kakara grew up, Berra started publicaly training increasingly lethal techniques...

Oh, there won't be a pubescent boy for miles who hasn't had the fear of their Lord put into them by the time Kakara hits puberty. :D
One has to wondet how will he do that to the human ones.

"You know, I never understood why there were saiyans who wanted to drop the masquerade."
"Dad! Put down that building! It was just a peek on the cheek!"
"Until now!"
"In hindsight I probably shouldn't have joked with the girls about having caught the cooties..."
"HE MADE YOU SICK!? DIE!!"

...if it ever becomes relevant in-quest...may I steal borrow this? Because that is hysterical.

Jaffur: "... You know, if I wasn't stuck in this mindscape, I'd probably be on the receiving end of that."

Can Kakara do generic attacks like ki blasts, Continuous Energy Bullets, and Energy Wave/Full Power Energy Wave?
