I CANNOT EXPRESS HOW UPSET I AM OVER THIS! THIS IS WHAT I WAKE UP TOO?!? ESPECIALLY WHEN WE HAD TWO OMAKE BONUSES FOR TALKING WITH DANDEER? WHY WHY WHY?

I just, cannot deal with this. I hate you all.
Gore, I am going to need you to step that back.

It is a shame that the Omake bonuses are likely to be wasted. They only way I see them coming into play is if the winning plan goes wrong.

When this inevitably goes wrong, we can probably get away with framing it less as "going behind Dandeer's back" and more "trying to avoid interacting with Dandeer in the first place." I mean, how were we to know Dandeer's idea of a "happy" Valentine is one where he doesn't get to make any of his own decisions? Etc.

Happy Valentine and Jaron more like. Or that's the alarming possibility here, anyway.

...

I have literally zero sympathy for Lord Vegeta; even if he were experiencing the same locked-in syndrome as Jaffur I'd have no desire to pull him out of it. He's lying in the bed he made for himself when he started beating his wife and son.

But Valentine, as a distinct personality- well, suffice to say that he is very much what Dandeer made him to be. That person deserves some autonomy, and a great deal of sympathy if he's being puppeteered.

I doubt that Poptart would want to promise anything. I suspect that having a breakthrough moment that leads to Elite rank requires booming success, i.e. a 'critical hit,' not just passing a very high-DC check after stacking up a wealth of modifiers.

I can just tell this is going to end fantastically :D...

More seriously I can't really see any plan that doesn't backfire barring lotsa luck.

Still if I were to vote it would be for Gore's plan...

Just my two cents...
Then why didn't you?
You know

Normally I'm against torturing Dandeer

But I really want to see explode.
BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAA THIS WILL BE HILARIOUS
It'd make her explode even harder, and I don't want to see what she'll do...

On the other hand, fuck Dandeer.
...Seriously, what the fuck?
Really, it's the "in private" part of that vote that kills it for me. If there had been motion, any motion, towards making it not private I'd have supported a not in private version of the vote. But there was none.

Talking to Dandeer in private will do approximately nothing. Possibly there will be another screaming match.
Not talking in private defeats the whole point, and I think you're underestimating Kakara. We know that convincing her to reverse her position on the Sealing was possible by the end of Year 2: convincing her of this would have been significantly easier.
Well we can stop panicking then - it can't be a huge deal if it goes wrong, to the point of actually threatening anything beyond Dandeer's opinion of us and being allowed train Jaron!
Even if it goes "right" it's going to spoil, or at least make even harder attempting to resolve this situation diplomatically. And it's going to draw attention to us, because now we've openly moved against Dandeer, which will threaten the conspiracy.

It's not ideal, and it's certainly not what I voted for, but I'm taking Pop's answer as indirect confirmation that the stakes really aren't all that high, and I suggest you do the same.

@PoptartProdigy, what was your initial reaction to the Valentine vote when it appeared? Did you expect it or were you surprised by it? Also, will the bonuses generated by this thread's diligent omake writers apply to the Valentine vote or are they completely worthless?

Well... I didn't expect for that to actually win. I mean, I was one of the first to vote for it and I promoted it but the main reason I was against it was taken away a bit after that and there are those omake bonus...

I feel a bit conflicted about it. It is just the fact that I would feel the same had I switched the vote... well, at this point either of the options were good results for me but the salt generated takes away the taste of victory. This is a game, people should not have to feel upset like that from our choices.

The important thing here was getting Jaffur training, at least for me. While I usually don't like the confrontational aproach... I can't feel that guilty about it here. Not for hate of the character or because of her role in the sealing but for her reaction when we stopped the missiles. That is the indication of how far gone she is: That she doesn't care about lives as long as it doesn't endanger her family versus the values she supposedly imparted on Jaron, who thinks she would be disappointed if he didn't help people.

It is not a good excuse to vote for it but it at least should explain why the anger generated is the reason I feel bad about it.

Edit: By the way, wasn't the second omake written by Jester, who also voted for vegeta? And it had a bit about talking to valentine at the end? That one should still applt, I think?

Edit^2: Nope, it was a greater bonus toward convinving Dandeer.

Ok, I think this is about to get ugly in thread:( Not my intention at all.

Let's just leave it until the update arrives, this isn't constructive. We've just had a Staff communication, we don't need another one.
