*eyes thread* Yeah, this is why I do moratoriums. Much more conversation about the votes that way. Okay, curiosity satisfied; I remembered this correctly. They'll be back for the next update. ;)

I so want us to tell the truth. Can we break our poor sensei with this series of ludicrous events?

To be fair this vote is relatively short, and we were already considering telling Sensei about Jaffur. Now we've kinda forced ourselves into a corner, the main discussion I see happening is how we tell Sensei, not if.

"Whose mind? You need to find them, right now, get down on your knees, and beg their forgiveness for the trespass. You will explain that it was unintentional, I shall grab one of my Sorcerer friends to swear the person you visited to secrecy about the whole chat before sending them out of earshot, and you will immediately convince your Lord Father to offer whatever recompense is necessary. The mind is sacrosanct, Kakara. You do not enter it, not without permission and as a last resort even then. When you're there, the other person by default can't see you or detect you until you're already touching something. Anybody whose mind you enter is in far more danger than you'll ever be. So you're going to offer your apologies, and I am going to start drilling you on this immediately. It's not your fault, but this cannot happen again. Done intentionally, tampering with somebody's mind is a hideous and abhorrent breach of trust. So yes. I will teach you Mind Projection. Because apparently the standard regimen simply isn't going to take in your case." He slumps back down into his chair, looking decidedly more frazzled than he was a minute ago. "Now: who was it?"

You know, from this quote, what I get is that he is more worried about people finding out about this and that while it was wrong and horrible it wasn't her fault so, how does that affect us?

On one hand, this would mean telling us that us, Scion of Goku, just violated the mind of the Scion of Vegeta. On the other, it could get him to help us if he considers Jaffur's situation unfair but he might be inclined to tell dad about it.

Might bring the issue to dad.

[ ] Tell him something misleading (write in what).

We could tell him it was a classmate, implying human that does not know of the masquerade. On the other hand, Sight.

Probably would get dad involved.

Well at least this reveals his stance on mental manipulation.

I now want to add
[] Are there any more of these big important issues/abilities/rules/warnings I should know about? You may have a pattern you like to follow but I think we can safely assume the normal timeline has been chucked out the window and kamehamehaed at this point.

Telling him that it was a human boy she'd been thinking a lot about wouldn't actually be a lie under some interpretations, and he might be inclined to write it off as her just being generally precocious at everything instead of it being something nefarious. It would provide him with an explanation for any embarrassment he detects.

On the other hand, he might still insist on making it right. With a sorcerer involved the masquerade would still be maintained, and it sounds as if seers take this really seriously.

Of course, if he did end up insisting despite it just being a human, she could still come clean then. He wouldn't be happy, but that being an option is an advantage of not technically lying, and by then there are going to be much more important complications in play anyway.

This seems to be the best option. Honestly if I would have written the vote, the only thing I would have changed is that I would have probably specified how we tell him about Jaffur... but that's probably just my inner control freak talking. Our illustrious author is good enough that I'm sure it'll work out.

And now for some monumental backtracking: we should bring Sensei in on the conspiracy.

I know it makes me seem kinda wishy-washy after arguing only last update that it was a bad idea, but with Sensei's explosive outburst this update I did see one thing that makes me think he'd be likely to join us.

The mind is sacrosanct, Kakara.

This. With an attitude like this, I can't see him being okay with what happened to Jaffur. Even if the spell had gone off correctly and just turned Jaffur into Jaron, I doubt he'd have been okay with it. With the spell flubbing up and overwriting Jaron onto Jaffur's mindscape while still leaving Jaffur cognizant and trapped as a prisoner inside his own head? The thing I'd be most paranoid about would be that Sensei would blow the whole thing open to openly confront Dandeer himself.

I mean, sure, you could argue that he was just talking about Seers... but it seems unlikely that he was saying "the mind is sacrosanct... unless you're a sorcerer, in which case: go nuts."

Though with all that said, I'd still say that the timing isn't right to induct Sensei into our conspiracy right now. We still have the invasion to worry about, and as much as I hate to say it right now that's the more pressing of our major concerns.

Hold on... while I don't think telling him is the right choice, as it might split our focus a little too much, there may be something we can do along those lines...

We may not need to tell him about Jaffur's situation, and telling him about Jaffur's situation is very different from telling him what Kakara is planning to do about it. With stakes as high as they are we should really stick to elementary need-to-know protocol. Tell him the absolute minimum he needs to know. Is there any reason he needs to know about the conspiracy? Does he bring anything indispensable to it?

We're already planning to bring together a group of conspirators stretching from the former Lords of the clans, the scion of a clan, and the the most important non-royal house of a clan (which is already in active rebellion), and the mess of the previous involvement of the church by some contributors intertwined with the public, blatant, and admitted attempted power-grab of another rebellious house. If this gets blown open the entirety of Saiyan society will erupt into civil war less than a month before the alien invasion is due. Keeping the Saiyan secret from getting out to the galaxy at large is going to be difficult when the invaders land on a planet where a significant chunk of the population consists of five-story apes more concerned with tearing each other's limbs off. Taking any further risks on additional conspirators needs to be based on a damned good reason.

He is a better mind Walker then we are yet.

That's not indispensable. Certainly not less than a month before an alien landing. Frankly, we don't need to mind-walk at all. The only purpose of it is to convey a message to Jaffur, which we could do by just speaking directly to Jaron. Heck, use telepathy and count on his reluctance to tell people that he's been hearing voices to keep him from leaking before Jaffur has a chance to establish the connection.

I will point at that the write-in isn't proposing to bring him in now, it's to suggest it at the upcoming Conspiracy Council.

So, I take it the Seers really don't want people to find out they could mindcontrol/rewrite people if the felt like it. I'm guessing something bad happened a good while back.

Ugh, I should have read that closer, but in my defense that is getting into, "remember to use ink when adding eggs to next week's shopping list because pencil might rub off and we need a good breakfast before the big meeting", levels of unnecessary tangent write-in sprawl.
