Did you miss this part, folks? She's presently sitting pretty at four-fifty.
..Okay, I definitely don't think she's strong enough that we need to tell Dad about her or we need to introduce her to the Saiyans, then. Personally, I'd much rather try to get the Misfits up to her power level (shouldn't be too hard) so that she won't alienate them, but she's still got a very human power level, and since Plan Yer a ki user, Maya" isn't winning anymore, I might as well shift back to my old vote (not that I think it has a chance of winning, but still. Bah).

[X] Keep the fight going for a bit, drawing her out step by step; before you settle this down you want to see exactly how much power Maya has socked away.
-[X] Then de-escalate.

[X] Talk about this with Maya.
-[X] Explain ki to Maya, and tell her that while she has more innate power than most, you're not sure you'd call it superpowers, as everyone could get that powerful with proper training.
--[X] Show off a ki blast and explain that physical strength isn't all you can use ki for.
-[X] In order to explain how you know all of this, tell her that you sometimes have visions of both the past, present, future and other things, and that an old man you see in your dreams (probably an ancestor of yours, as you've been calling him grandpa) has been telling you about this since you were little.

Go retread the manga, Raditz never had a power level of one.... A farmer with a shotgun had a level of 12 after all.
Farmer had a power level of 5, actually.

What level is Raditz, by this system? He's clearly not the Manga's level of "one".

Given that Super Saiyans have flown about at full power previously, this isn't really a big deal? In order to train our Masque up to 60%, we must have previously been at that power level whilst in our Masque. The only ones who'd notice would be Saiyans, and they've felt us flying around at FPSS before (example - us on the moon). And unless we start flinging Ki attacks around, it shouldn't be a big deal.

The particulars are here, the upshot is 1,700. It's not relevant to the quest, so a quick wiki check is good enough for me. In any case, he's over 1,000, so he'd crush Maya underfoot. I was just using him as a rough benchmark.

Bear in mind, to a ki sensor there's a difference between "flying around," and "flexing your muscles." Hugging Maya into submission would be the latter, and provokes questions given the Masquerade, particularly since you feel different while Masqued. As long as you're confident you can field those questions, however, it shouldn't be a problem.

Raditz was about 1100 or so from memory

Ah, I'm misremembering from TFS's abridged series, where Raditz had power level of one. "That's right, he was so weak we measure our power level in Raditzes!"

--[X] Tell her that lots of your knowledge comes from a strange man you have met in your dreams (probably an ancestor of yours, as you've been calling him grandpa) has been telling you about this since you were little.
---[X] Also, you can see the future sometimes. Dream-Grandpa says that's not something everyone can do, though. (We are still Oddballs, and the bouncing around of topics is intended to keep her conversationally flat-footed)
-[X] Tell her you think it's good that she keeps this a secret, because it might otherwise scare people in not-fun ways.
-[X] After the conversation is over, talk to Dad ASAP. Tell him everything about the encounter, and ask for his advice.
--[X] We really don't want her to be sealed, killed, or forced to marry a Saiyan.

[x] Go to maximum for your masque and end the fight with a hug.

Essentially a "de-escalate" write-in. No weighting.

[x] Phone Dad

No current vote-weighted traits apply. No weighting.

[x] But don't let her handle you your ass. Keep things more or less even, be it by power or skill.

Redundant with its super-option. No vote weighting and will be merged with any plans where this is the sole difference.

No additional weighting need be assigned to any write-ins. In addition, the various options with the same general thrust as the above three will be merged where applicable. This does not, however, include the various options specifying different power levels for hug-based fight ending, which will be counted separately. I also must announce that one of the above write-ins will lead to the development of a trait. Consider carefully.

What is the point of this? I don't think there's a reason to show power way above Maya's, and you're also splitting the vote.

Edit:
Not to mention that I think she actually wants a fight right now.

It was pretty much in response to someone worried about other people picking up on us going full-hundreds-of-millions, though fortunately the QM just essentially said vote-splitting won't be an issue.

Your edit isn't a bad point though. I'll think about it - it's really the talking bit I'm most worried about here. We should be giving away as little as possible! We can always say more later!

@PoptartProdigy , can traits be developed... negatively? And if so, is this one of those cases?

Every single one of freeza's men.

It's debatable as to whether even a single one of them was actually human. Humans are conspicuously absent from the list of races allied with or enslaved by Frieza.

On the other hand, we have the example of Earth, where extremely advanced and easily fatal ki manipulation is required to hit anything approaching this level, and was discovered only once by a Grand Master martial artist and spiritualist.

We also have the example of Garenhuld, where it appears to have never happened at all and nobody has even a conception of ki.

Even if you're right, and humans do spontaneously generate such champions at a common rate everywhere, it just means that Frieza picked out the one-in-billions champions for his army. It would still require Maya to be a one-in-a-billion event.

So, thought about the trait a little more. Here's the list of current traits:

Your personality in a few words. This is who you are.

A Cause: Your mind has centered on the issue of Jaffur's Sealing since that summer at the Training Hall, and you find yourself repelled by the whole affair. Everything about it sickens and horrifies you, and rage at Lady Vegeta for her part in it never fails to follow on its heels. Behind these, though, lingers a more quiet, yet insistent conclusion: that this is wrong. That everything about this situation, and everything leading up to it, was wrong. And you will never let it happen again. Experiences heavy vote weighting in favor of options spiting or thwarting Dandeer Vegeta and must pass Willpower checks to act in line with her interests. Slight prejudice against sorcery and its practitioners gained. Gains +1 yearly action that must be used to mitigate or reverse the consequences of Jaffur's Sealing (if you can justify that it aids this to the QM, you can spend this action on it). +10 flat bonus to Willpower at all times, which spikes to +20 when acting against Lady Dandeer Vegeta or Jaffur's Seal.

Compassionate: Your first thought is often of helping others, and you find value and affirmation in making sure that the people around you are okay. Gain a small bonus to Medicine checks.

Compelling Presence: When you speak, people listen. Something about your words draws and fascinates those around you. You have an almost indefinable charisma about you that draws people's attention whenever you have something to say. Minor bonus to all Communication checks and moderate boosts to take charge of a situation.

Convictions: A fearful whisper, let loose by Dandeer Vegeta, made you fear for your integrity and possible likeness to Lord Vegeta. Upon confronting this, you found...nothing. You aren't like him, and your behavior was not out of line. You were in the right, and the knowledge of this has strengthened your faith in yourself. Gain a small bonus to all actions taken in what you believe to be in the service of right.

Decisive: While level-headed, you recognize that when a crisis beckons the time for waiting has passed and the time for action has come. In a time-critical situation, gain a small bonus to all actions that resolve or defuse the situation swiftly.

Gentle [Foundational Trait]: You dislike fighting and violence, but this viewpoint is presently undeveloped. You gain combat traits, abilities, and skills more slowly, and may encounter barriers to improvement that cannot be surpassed without exceptional pressure. Positive effects: none yet…

Driven [Foundational Trait]: Some thought your distaste for fighting made you weak. Those people were idiots. Gain a permanent +10 to all Willpower checks and +1 yearly action.

Hot-Blooded: While you are a gentle girl, you don't take kindly to insults or abuse. You have a fiery temper, and while you have great practice in restraining it, sometimes lose your head when the right insult is offered. Your QM will identify certain triggers. When those triggers are hit, heavy vote weighting will come into effect favoring aggressive and to a lesser extent violent responses.

Inquisitive: You like to know things and are none too shy about poking around until you find them out. Gain a small bonus to all actions to gather information.

Ki Prodigy: You have no equal in the art of using your ki, not in terms of raw talent. You have a far easier time increasing Ki Talents, gaining large bonuses to all training attempts, and have slight bonuses in increasing Ki Manipulation skills. CANNOT BE DEVELOPED.

Level-Headed: You are a calm girl, at heart. You don't react to provocation easily, and keep your head when somebody is doing their level best to set you off. Gain a small bonus to all calm or patient actions.

Mature: You have been forced to make difficult choices and endure great pains and trials well before anybody your age should have. This experience has changed you in some undefinable yet easily-noticeable way, putting you a lonely step ahead of your peers. The QM will transcribe more age-inappropriate statements verbatim, and you gain a small bonus to all mental actions. You take a small penalty to interact normally with others of your age group, although you can counteract this with careful action.

Oddball: What everybody can agree on is that your mind works in strange ways. You tend to take people off-balance. Gain a slight bonus to any check involving you acting in unconventional ways, and a moderate bonus to take others off-guard in doing so.

Pacifist [Foundational Trait]: After hard experiences and a great deal of thought, you have refined your earlier opinions on fighting and violence. Where once you avoided them out of simple distaste, you now do so out of moral obligation. They aren't unpleasant, they're wrong. You still need to learn how to live this way in a society filled with hot-blooded fighters, but you have your beliefs. You gain combat traits, abilities, and skills more slowly, and may encounter barriers to improvement that cannot be surpassed without exceptional pressure. You experience moderate vote weighting at all times against courses of action that result in violence. You gain a small bonus to any check that de-escalates a situation or peacefully resolves it. This may be developed further...

Open-Armed. You know that there are more questions to answer about your beliefs, but you've answered at least one. Those who oppose you don't have to be hurt in order to stop. You can offer them the chance to turn back. Gain a minor bonus to all attempts to "redeem" your opponents from their courses of action.
Socializer: You don't have many friends, but you like people, and it's hurt you deeply to be able to talk to so few of them. But when you get the chance, you tend to seek out others. Gain a small bonus to all Communication checks.

I doubt it's A Cause.

It could be Compassionate - hugging to make sure the worried person is okay would be pretty compassionate!

Compelling Presence seems unlikely.

Convictions seems unlikely.

Decisive could be it... again, for the hugging. But not too likely.

Driven seems unlikely.

Hot-blooded is also irrelevant.

Inquisitive isn't relevant.

Ki Prodigy can't be developed.

Level-Headed... I think this is irrelevant?

Mature: Probably not, but could be for not blabbing on the spot to our buddy.

Oddball: Oddball's always hard to tell... but I don't think so? EDIT: Wait, this could be hugging too. Going straight from a fight to a hug is a bit of a non-sequitur.

Pacifist: Could be for hugging... though I'm worried that refusing to spar might lead to Bad development (which we're about to find out if that's a thing.)

Socializer: Probably not.

Before I answer: are you referring to a trait regressing along its path (i.e., Pacifist going back to Gentle), or to a wholly negative trait (i.e., a hypothetical "Irresponsible Twit" trait)?
I was specifically thinking if "Pacifist" was going to develop further into "won't even spar with friends because she's missed the point of pacifism", but I'm interested in all of those answers!

Are there any known examples of surprise Saiyan bastards or throwbacks popping up in the Garenhuld human population? A Saiyan who screwed up and didn't realize it, hid the fact, or died before it became clear? A masqued child kidnapped?

Traits rarely regress directly. People who have spent years of effort on navigating a mental hurdle rarely progress directly backwards. Their stance may moderate itself or even flip entirely, but it won't often take a direct step backwards. A trait that the player base is trying to scale back, I'll typically create new traits for reflecting the positions of earlier traits, but indicating a more advanced amount of consideration invested than the earlier versions. That said, it can happen, so traits can regress. Typically this would be the result of the player base deciding that the reasons for a trait's development into its current form were totally invalid in some way, causing Kakara to cast aside those years of progress for a fresh start. Wholly negative traits can also happen; Kakara is not special there.

Beyond that, from your list it appears my language was unclear; one of the write-ins will result in the creation of a wholly new trait, rather than the development of an existing one.

That's very heavily regulated, so none yet. Of course, it's feasible that somebody missed something. Five minutes in the presence of a Sorcerer would tell you is Maya is under a Masque, and if she's not and has had her tail snipped a simple DNA test (which Kakara does not personally possess the resources to order, mind) would do.

As for the ongoing debate into ki mutants; I subscribe to the notion that such mutants don't have to be particularly common for Freeza to have snagged quite a few for the PTO when he's working with an implied hundreds of species and a massive population pool. They absolutely are a "once in a few billion" occurrence. I'll put this into the Lore Screen in a bit.

I continue, however, to say, "no comment" on just what Maya is.

Thanks for the info, and whoops - completely misunderstood your meaning of "development" there!

It's not like telling the Saiyans is a bad thing for her - she's kept it secret from Garenhulders who hate new things or mysteries because they get angry at her, and that's certainly not an issue here. I think she'd be delighted to be introduced to the Saiyans, and learn about her "superpowers"!
That's completely bloody irrelevant! We'd still be telling people about her without her express permission. Telling ourselves it's for her own good doesn't justify breaking her trust and I'm pretty sure that's the excuse Dad gave when he was helping Dandeer seal Jaffur. If we want to reveal her powers to the Saiyans or even just Dad, we should make sure it's ok with Maya first.

Man, it does sorta suck for Maya that this quest standards of power level are set in late Dragonball Z / GT instead of early Dragonball. If it had been, Maya might actually be a somewhat relevant combatant. As it is, she's a puppy among T-Rex's.
