That's completely bloody irrelevant! We'd still be telling people about her without her express permission. Telling ourselves it's for her own good doesn't justify breaking her trust and I'm pretty sure that's the excuse Dad gave when he was helping Dandeer seal Jaffur. If we want to reveal her powers to the Saiyans or even just Dad, we should make sure it's ok with Maya first.
You might want to read further ahead - the current discussion has moved on a fair bit, and in the main plans we're telling her we plan to phone Dad before doing so.

...Though I would note there's a vast difference between "inform Dad there's a breach in the masquerade and that our friend could use some help" and "oh we'll mind-rape this guy because his Dad's a bad egg and he might take after his father."

I have to agree with the stellar entity this time, better to ask permission/questions before saying oh yeah my dad trained me and I'm a half alien space princess/walking WMD.

That being said I don't think she's... quite well mentally and if its clear that she will endanger herself steps do need to be taken to train her.

That being said with what insight we have into her character (wanting to burst out, curious and probably entranced with her powers to a certain extent) I doubt she'll say no.

[X] Plan "Yer a ki user, Maya"
[x] Keep the fight going for a bit, drawing her out step by step; before you settle this down you want to see exactly how much power Maya has socked away.
-[x] But don't let her handle you your ass. Keep things more or less even, be it by power or skill.
-[x] Then de-escalate.
[x] Talk about this with Maya.
-[x] She did good in keeping this quiet. There are others like us and they have gone to great lenghts to keep this quiet. Power like this usually runs in families and for someone to have come into it without being from any of the clans would have drawn their attention.
-[x] We will have to discuss this with our dad. He is head of our clan and would know best how to properly introduce her to others like us.

Fine, I guess I'll hop on a bandwagon to support the plan that I prefer, since it looks like my TOTALLY AWESOME plan has failed to catch on. :p

I feel like we should have two votes: one for the fighting part and one for the talking part. I care a great deal more about the second part (and think that keeping quiet until we've decided on a story with Dad is really very important), but could honestly go either way on the first part.

Looking at this again:
[x] Go to maximum for your masque and end the fight with a hug.

Essentially a "de-escalate" write-in. No weighting.

[x] Phone Dad

No current vote-weighted traits apply. No weighting.

[x] But don't let her handle you your ass. Keep things more or less even, be it by power or skill.

Redundant with its super-option. No vote weighting and will be merged with any plans where this is the sole difference.

No additional weighting need be assigned to any write-ins. In addition, the various options with the same general thrust as the above three will be merged where applicable. This does not, however, include the various options specifying different power levels for hug-based fight ending, which will be counted separately. I also must announce that one of the above write-ins will lead to the development of a trait. Consider carefully.
I would note that 2 of those 3 are in "Keep it Simple" and 1 is in "Yer a ki user, Maya". Not only that, but that 1 is specifically noted to be redundant. So I think the former is much more likely to be the basis of this new trait. EDIT: I changed my own vote back to "maximum" from "20,000" in case it affected the new trait.

By this, do you mean that the various power level variations of "Keep it simple" will be merged but with whichever power level is most popular will be taken (rather than trying to take an average of power levels voted for), or do you mean that each power level specified will lead to that vote being considered entirely separate? Because I think we'd be far happier with the former, considering the exact power level of overkill is fairly unimportant compared to the rest of the vote.

The latter, honestly. To be blunt, it's highly unlikely that Maya could have one thousand units to play with, let alone twenty, and the higher you go the more conspicuous this little chat gets. Who gets an automatic notification that the Scion is flexing her power level with the intent to use it for something manual (which, again, they can sense) goes up at certain power levels, so the specific number is important.

..Goddamnit. Right, time to rant against Plan "Yer a ki user, Maya", again, then.

[]She did good in keeping this quiet. There are others like us and they have gone to great lenghts to keep this quiet. Power like this usually runs in families and for someone to have come into it without being from any of the clans would have drawn their attention.
[] We will have to discuss this with our dad. He is head of our clan and would know best how to properly introduce her to others like us.

I really really really don't like this wording. We're telling Maya that she's like us, which she's not, and telling her it's important for her to keep quiet is actually wrong. No, really, the Saiyans don't care whether the Garenhulders know about ki or not, they just don't want them to find out about Saiyans, Garenhulders knowing about ki might even make it easier for them to hide.

Secondly, telling her she needs to be "properly introduce her to other us" might make her feel like she doesn't belong with the humans and make herself feel out of place and distance her from her family, the Misfits and other human friends/acquantances.

If we tell her anything, it should either be the truth (that we're a member of an alien race) or something that doesn't expose the Saiyans at all, not this weird spiel that makes it sounds like Maya is a Saiyan and that ki is an inherited superpower rather than something you train up (again, kinda afraid she'll develop some kind of superiority complex like almost every other mutant).

Edit:

Not to mention that introducing her to the Saiyans would likely force her to marry one and all that stuff, but that's a whole other story.

Alright, that's a fair point, and one I hadn't considered.

You're all currently down as the "maximum" version. Could I convince you to change your vote to "Keep it Simple"? At the moment it's literally the exact same plan, but if enough people pledge to the plan I can "update" it to 20,000 power level, so as to avoid vote-splitting.

I'm afraid vote weighting has scuppered your plans pretty thoroughly. Can I interest you in keeping it simple? I'm trying to prevent a situation where we spin a story and Dad gets mad at us for telling her enough that we can't really maintain the story without full-on tearing down the Masque.

Very diligent. I'm impressed. :) That said, what you have are post links, not tags. To tag somebody, you want, @username. @Deathbybunnies, for reference.

Does it only count the first vote? I thought it counted the last vote someone posted, which for me was plan Keep it Simple.

Oh no, not this again :o
Right:
@anailater , @Aranfan , @ElleonXan , @GilliamYaeger , @pianoman , @DkArthas , @SMuha , @Katsuragi , please look three posts above! Apparently I linked you wrong.

I don't have any vote-counting software, so I'm going by @PoptartProdigy 's tally, which must be outdated. Sorry!

EDIT: I remembered SV has real smileys.

I was fairly clear in my vote that I was doing it as a joke with no chance of winning. If I was interested in changing it, I would do so. Please concider the context of what posts say before tagging people to change their votes in the future. It's mildly irritating.

@PoptartProdigy, with what you've said it seems like powering up in Masque form with intent to do something with that power seems like it'll be attracting tons of attention to us that we really don't want, but I have to wonder: wouldn't we have had to have trained up and used our power with intent previously to get it to the comfort/acclimation level we already have in our masque? Why is this situation so much more suspicious to the saiyans than when we were training, since we seem to be out in this world's equivalent of the "Forbidden Forest" where it seems that for the most part the locals are afraid to go because of the bears. (Assuming I'm reading things right and not getting things mixed up in my head.)

@Deathbybunnies It's cool.

Sorry, I was going off of a tally - I have no idea what your original post even said. Well, I do now, and it wouldn't be the first time someone made a joke vote and then replaced it with a serious one, but yeah, sorry man.

I prefer this plan's talky part, but I prefer "Yer a wizard"'s fighty part.

I'm just going to vote for this. I think mentioning that our Dad trained us with no other info shouldn't be too bad, especially if we contact Dad right after.

To those voting for Plan KISS, this is one of the main reasons I combined KISS and "Yer a Wizard" into Plan Compromise. We don't necessarily need to go up to 20,000, I don't want to outright overwhelm Maya into submission, and I don't want to draw undue attention to ourselves through that much of an increase in our Power Levels (compared to our normal Masque level).
