[x] (x0.1) BOW BEFORE KAKARA, PUNY HUMAN! HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST LIKENESS BETWEEN US?! Go saiyan. Put the fear of you into this upstart (my goodness is this out of character, but it amuses me to include it).
-[x] (x0.01) In fact, go whole hog on this. Super Saiyan, now. Clearly this is a warranted and proportional response to the situation at hand.

It's absolutely not going to win, but it's there and someone has to vote for it. :p

Edit: Murasaki'd by a second.

So uh... Quick question. In the begining, when what's his face summoned Maron or whatever, why didn't he summon Goku? Besides the fact that it would invalidate the plot

Because Goku died a natural enough death.

Also because the whole problem was caused by relying on Goku too much.

I'm mostly wondering why he didn't wish Shenron to move everyone to a safe planet instead

This isn't breaking open the Masquerade and revealing the existence of Saiyans to the world. This is one friend revealing a big secret to another friend who has also just revealed a big secret and is really good at keeping big secrets secret. It's the appropriate and correct thing to do in a cartoon, which Dragon Ball is.

There are also Saiyans paying close attention to this social group, which means there is very real risks if they aren't strong enough to make an argument

Filthy human thinks we are similar, the preything needs to be taught its place.

Wait, is she a a human mutant? That makes her quite valuable if her kids will inherit her mutation.

Okay, so there's a few things we want to keep in mind when making this decision:
  • We aren't prepared to breach the Masquerade right now. Literally - we have made no preparations for such, have no permission from Berra, etc.
  • Whilst I doubt she's going all-out, she's still almost certainly squishier than any but a newborn Saiyan, so she literally can't defend herself from a hostile Saiyan but this isn't a military threat to them.
  • We don't really want to lie to her (deceit is still untrained, and whilst I'd like to change that, right now it means we're fairly likely to be caught in a lie)
I think that we should be aiming to introduce her (peacefully!) to the saiyans. From their side, we can absolutely spin it as being a good thing - the first human on this planet to show a power level of any note! This should be encouraged - not only is it a good thing in general, but if this became public knowledge in a controlled fashion? Saiyans could act much more freely while Masqued, and the Masquerade would be much easier to hide. From her side - a community of superhero aliens! From space! Who can teach her!

In the short term, we should be supportive and avoid giving away anything concrete, but we should absolutely be talking to Berra about the situation and possibly introducing her - tonight or tomorrow, if possible.

[ ] Keep the fight going for a bit, drawing her out step by step; before you settle this down you want to see exactly how much power Maya has socked away.
-[ ] Then de-escalate.
--[ ] If we can't de-escalate for some reason, then win.
[ ] Hug Maya.
[ ] Talk about this with Maya.
-[ ] Say we were absolutely not expecting this.
--[ ] Talk about how this is possible due to ki, and give her a brief rundown on how to use ki effectively (from the physical side, don't mention flight or ki blasts etc. just yet) and then beg off, saying you weren't expecting this at all and aren't really prepared for a full dissertation on ki.
---[ ] Say we should absolutely talk about this more, does she want to come over to our house tomorrow?
----[ ] If she presses, apologise and say we just can't talk about everything right now. Try tomorrow!
[ ] Go find Dad shortly afterwards, tell him about all of this, and that we want to introduce her to the saiyans. Point out how a controlled spread of knowledge of ki use would make the Masquerade much easier to maintain in the long run.

How does this plan look? It gives away that we're a bit more experienced than her without committing to anything concrete, and it sets up getting her fully behind the Masquerade.

Let's not escalate this into letting the Saiyans know about her yet. Let's start off slow for now. She told us her big secret so we'll tell her our big secret. It doesn't have to get more complicated than that and it's a bad idea to make it more complicated at least until later.

I'm also confused as to why people want to continue the fight when we can just ask her to go as powerful as she can. It seems kinda pointless.

EDIT: On the other hand, I can see a reason for not revealing that we're a Saiyan. It's not just our own secret to keep, after all. We still shouldn't go and tell Dad or any one else about Maya, though. That would be a severe betrayal of her trust.

Umm

Guys we have another issue, one that might be more important (on the personal level) then the Masquerade.

One of our friends thinks she has super powers. Super Powers are typically attached to Super heroes, who use those powers to save the day from threats internal and external.

Such as that impending alien invasion...

I don't see how, in the long run, we can avoid lying and not tell her about the Saiyans. Unless we go for the whole "mysterious" angle, but that's a bit of a dick move. And we can't tell her about the saiyans without running it by Dad, because that would be a huge intentional breach of the Masquerade, and as Scion (never mind a regular Saiyan!) we should know better. And we can't just ask her how strong she is, she's never even heard of a "power level". It's not like telling the Saiyans is a bad thing for her - she's kept it secret from Garenhulders who hate new things or mysteries because they get angry at her, and that's certainly not an issue here. I think she'd be delighted to be introduced to the Saiyans, and learn about her "superpowers"!

Well, we have to do something then. A power level as low as that? She'd be crushed (although, if the aliens get to Garenhuld we're in a huge amount of trouble anyway, since the Masquerade's doomed. Remember, if we don't crush them thoroughly without any messages or survivors escaping and without Garenhuld noticing, that's a defeat.) NOTE: All of our loved ones are protected by the Masquerade, so I don't think it's more important on a personal level. Maybe as important?

...we have here a girl with an incredible amount of ki, for a human. Someone who, without any training at all, would be able to fight Raditz on equal footing at least. We also have a secret population of people who are able to do exactly that, and are more than capable of interbreeding with the native populace.

The question we should be asking isn't if she's some kind of unheard of mutant. Its has one of our people has been fooling around without protection?

Actually, thinking about it... we're a ki sensor. We noticed when Jaron's power level spiked from 3 to 17, even in the Masque, so why is it that when Maya is pulling moves that she must be at a power level in the hundreds to pull off... that no mention of our noticing an abnormal power level has been made? @PoptartProdigy , are we reading an abnormal power level from her right now?

Well presumably its Ki something, given the talk about Aura's and the like.

She doesn't have a tail, so probably not.

[] Go to maximum for your masque and end the fight with a hug.
-[] "You have superpowers, I have training."

Not sure about this.

I like the overall aim of this plan, though completely overwhelming her in a fight seems a little... aggressive. Or are you saying to get so strong she just can't dodge/ get out of the hug? I also don't know if we should be making it sound like her superpowers and our training are different things. Maybe avoid calling her ki/strength superpowers? She's only calling it that because superhero stories/comics are the only example she has of such strength, but we know better.

If we go with this route, we should immediately phone Dad and say something to the effect of "get over here, my friend can bench press a truck."

The idea is she can't dodge/get out of the hug, yes. It's a de-escalation thing. And yeah, we should call dad immediately.

Alright then, that makes sense. maybe tweak it to be more like:

[ ] Go to maximum for your masque and end the fight with a hug.
[ ] Talk about this with Maya.
-[ ] Raw talent only takes you so far...
--[ ] ...We should talk to my dad about this, he's the one who trained us!
---[ ] Phone Dad

Also tweaked it to avoid direct quotes, so as not to trap @PoptartProdigy while he's writing it.

replaced us with "me", because reasons.
