Wow... just wow. I don't mean to be insulting, but when a parent asks a kid "what were you wasting time on?" do you really expect them to accept the answer "wasting time"?

The downside to this would be for our parents to expect us to be able to back up this claim. If we're supposedly spending (ignoring the extra one given by multiform) about 3/12ths of our time (or say about 3 months worth of time out of the year) on Telepathy, you better pray that you roll something really amazing on that Learn Telepathy roll. If you flunk out on your Telepathy roll, then you're not only have no excuse for why you "wasted" a quarter of your time, but will also probably cause your parents to scrutinize what you do, to make sure that you (and I'll say it again) aren't trying to do too much too fast. Which again, brings us under more scrutiny and hinders our ability to work on the Conspiracy.

I mean, I'd still like to try to contact Jaffur this year (at least if Sensei agrees to teach us), but neither of the winning plans want to do that, and I don't think anyone but me even seems to care about it, so that's kinda irrelevant.

We're a Ki prodigy, and Grandma will be teaching us and backing us up. Unless they're suspicious of Grandma, that's pretty iron-clad. We'll probably succeed, but if we don't - sometimes you just roll bad/get stuck on something, you know?

And..kinda curious, but does anyone but me care about trying to contact Jaffur this year? I mean, it'll take him quite a bit of time to learn from Dandelor even when we do contact him, so I don't think we'll be able to free him until two-three years from now unless we contact him this year.

Actually, as an aside, why WOULDN'T they by suspicious of Grandma? If I remember correctly, she wasn't at all shy of saying right to your face that she thought you had been engaged in HERESY! so why wouldn't she say the same to your father. And since your father knows you had issues with the Sealing, wouldn't he be a little wary about you spending time with someone who so vehemently opposes it?
Again, this is contingent on doing badly at learning Telepathy, but: you're known as a Ki prodigy. Your Grandmother is apparently pretty good at telepathy. If you fail to learn it after spending so much time with your grandmother, mightn't your father wonder if maybe she's trying to do something else... say sway you to admit that the sealing was wrong? I dunno, maybe I'm just paranoid, but if that's something that I can logically connect together (via what we have observed so far) then it's quite possible your "iron-clad" excuse could end up bringing the whole conspiracy down on our heads... and all with a few bad rolls.

In contrast, if you don't mind letting a primary school grade have a less than 50% chance to slip a little, saving us actions at a time when we want as many as we can get, cleverly covering our tracks in the unlikely event of failure with aid from Grandma, with the absolute intention to raise that grade again in the event it does slip, now is also the time to vote!
NOTE: Adding the Grandma excuse to the plan.
Gah. Are you absolutely sure I can't convince you to change one of the two Tenshinhan Style actions to a Contactin Jaffur action (even if it's just contingent on learning Mind Projection and will be used for Tenshinhan Style otherwise)? Because the way the system works (small but significant actions such as attending the Council costing as many actions/much time as training something the entire year) I don't think we'll be able to contact Jaffur without taking the action.
